This is a complaint regarding a deposit I tried to make into my Etoro account. I sent £1000 from my Santander bank account into Etoro using the eToro automated deposit method process. The next day I received an email to say the deposit had been blocked due to the name being different on my bank account and the email said the funds will be returned to my bank in the next 1-3 days. I have still have not received my money back. I opened a ticket with Etoro [protected]) asking were my funds are as it had gone past the 3 days and was asked to provide proof of the transaction leaving my account so I uploaded images showing my bank account and the Faster Payments transfer and reference number. Days later I received a reply from Etoro customer service telling me that the money was rejected and to contact my bank for further information. I have contacted my Bank and they have investigated the transaction which was a faster payments transaction, they have advised the money left my bank account and was deposited to the Etoro account which is where it will still be now. It has now been 3 weeks and I still have not had my funds returned to my bank, I called the phone number for customer services but it is automated and asks you to log a ticket then hangs up, customer services have not updated my Ticket updated in weeks, I have provided everything they have asked for, I am getting either no reply or generic automated replies. They have closed my ticket twice already with generic contact your bank replies and I have had to reopen it. There is literally no help at all from eToro and no one you can speak to. They have £1000 of my money in their bank account but do not want to return it and I am going around in circles trying to get some help or advice. I also attempted to log an official complaint on their website but the official complaint link opens a standard regular ticket not a official complaint so you cannot even go down the official complaint route. Its unbelievable.
