eToro has turned out to be a nightmare company based in Isreal, with operations in the UK, APAC and the US since 2020.
The platform is for acquiring cryptocurrency and other assets. Simply put, I had trades made in my account that were not authorized by me - I've only had the account for 1 month and never had fraud issues before.
When I notified them, they locked my account and will not unlock it to allow me to withdraw my original funding. They want me to send pictures of my credit cards, including signatures (this is PII in my opinion) to validate who I am.
They won't put the money back into my funding source - a debit card, which regardless of fraud, should irrelevant given it's the same source of the funds.
This company is a slimy scam who now is holding $5, 000 of my money hostage.
Desired outcome: Allow me to do withdraw my money - period

I have been having various issues regarding trades: 1) asked to make deposits when buy, but there is enough money in for trades; 2) asked to make deposits when sell? ; 3) a friend used my link to open an account, but Etoro has no record of it; 4) customer service kept on telling me that it is my problem in terms of the constant unnecessary requests for me to make deposits. I checked my browser, scanned my devices and tried on my laptop, mobile etc, but the same issue persists. In the meantime, Etoro cheerfully told me that they had closed the ticket and the matter had been resolved. 5) Having read the posts here about withdrawal difficulties, I am wondering whether I am stuck in some big hassle and scams. Can anyone help?
