I have been getting my hair cut and highlighted at Empire Beauty School in Brentwood off and on for several years. I decided that I preferred Empire over Paul Mitchell and Aveda. I never have had a problem until my appointment last week. I made my appointment by phone one week prior. When I arrived, my appointment was not on the books. I had to wait until they could find someone who could take me. Quin, the girl that performed my services was not well trained. She did not know how to do highlights with foiling and had to be shown. She also was not very adept at cutting hair. Another student came over to assist her. While they were working on me, they were talking about how poor the teaching staff was and mentioned several of the students were transferring out of the program because they were not learning anything. I asked them some questions and they said the teachers do not teach, therefore, they were not learning what they needed to learn. After the other student left, Quin was attempting to cut my bangs, but she had never done bangs before. An instructor approached and took over. This instructor also did not know how to cut bangs. She cut them so short they literally stood straight out instead of down. Two other instructors came over and they were shocked at how bad my bangs looked. They are a mess and I'm embarrassed to leave my house. Plus after looking more closely at my bangs, there’s an area that did not receive any highlights at all. They did refund my haircut fee, but that really doesn't make up for what they did to me. I hope management intervenes because it is obvious to me that this school is failing their students and their clients.

Desired outcome: Upper level management needs to evaluate the education, teaching and training processes at this location. I did get a refund, but refund will not solve the issue of poor training.
