Educational Testing Service [ETS] review: Praxis test 7000 series for early education

July 17, 2026, I was scheduled to take my Praxis exam at 10 Am. I logged in at 9:30am, to go ahead and do the equipment check as instructed. My computer passed all of the requirements, as I knew it would, because I had taken this once before on the same computer. As the proctor logs on, they run another equipment check, and they were having technical issues on their end. I know this, because in the background you could hear the call center discussing the issues. The proctor told me this was on my end; I needed to try a different internet in order to proceed with my test. I drove to my grandfather's home, reconnected. Same thing, then I drove to my sister's home, that has one of the best internet services our small town provides. By this time, it is now 3PM, and I am so devastated that they are not allowing me to enter the test itself. I even connected with a different laptop. Once I finally get in touch with customer service, they send me an email. In the email it stated, they would waive the 28 days of waiting to retest, but I would need to pay full price to retake it. This is $265 each time you schedule for the test. They all were unkind, unapologetic, blamed me for this mishap, and refused to help me other than waiving the 28-day waiting period. This morning when I called them, they were rude having technical problems and could not even transfer me to someone to schedule. I did finally speak to someone by finding a different number on the internet. This company is a huge rip off. They charge you, then on the site, it says, "after three it is free". Therefore, I asked, being as that this is my third time paying to test with this site, if by chance I do not pass, with the next time be free. The answer was NO!
