Not so fast
Purchased a gate opener for over $6,000 about a year ago.
The gate has closed on 5 cars. The building owner compensated the vehicle owners for damage.
Called for service.
They checked and said nothing wrong. Paid for the service call.
Gate closed on my truck. Punctured my right front tire/sidewall. I had to buy 2 tires.
Phoned for service.
Service person said the system is working fine.
I ask if the system is working fine why does it close while a vehicle is sitting right there.
I bought the system, please just fix it so it’s right.
Response: We installed the system. We didn’t manufacture it.
What?
Then…. We can install another sensor on the other side of the gate for $499 plus $199. For the installation.
But wait…. Just fix what you sold and installed.
No you need an additional sensor.
Told the Sherman to pack up his stuff and get out.
A new sensor price range is $18 to $49. Look it up.
And if the system is working correctly why would I need an additional sensor?
Maybe they are great at garage doors but buyer beware for electric gates.

I was so happy with Dream Garage Doors. I needed a new door and motor and they were great. The quote was right on, no hidden added-on charges. They came when they said and were done in less time than quoted. They were great. Eli answered all my questions and programmed the door. I would recommend them to everyone. Great job!

I called on Thursday and made an appointment for Friday morning because my garage door was acting up. It wouldn't close or open when I switched it to manual mode. Eli came as planned and even called before he arrived.
Embarrassingly, Eli just reset the switch and the door opened and closed without any issues. It worked perfectly the second time too. I asked him how much I owed him, and he said, "no charge." Eli told me about a new law in CA that started in July . It requires new garage doors to have a battery backup. He asked if I wanted a new system with a battery backup, but I said no. He smiled and said, "no problem, but remember us if you need to replace your 15-year-old garage door system."
Their professionalism is outstanding. I highly recommend Dream Garage Door & Gate!
