Dr. Sydney Coleman, founder of Lipostructure has more than 50 complaints against him that have been filed with the DOH in NYC. This doctor has no business calling himself the founder of anything much less fat transfer. His fat grafts do not last at all and he harvests fat from areas without the patients' consent and leaves them with new problem areas. He took an oath to protect the patient, but he destroys their lives. He charges exuberant prices and you end up disfigured. Please do not go to him. You will be making the biggest mistake of your life. I made the mistake and have to live with the consequences daily. He has no conscience nor regard for his actions.

Buyer Beware!

Dalyroad, For our faces to be the size of basketballs? this is not scar tissue fullness. We are not talking fullness, let me emphasize "HUGE!" Full is not huge. Cro-Magnon is not full, it is beastly, grotesque and bizarre, unless of course you are a Cro-Magnon. Lop-sided, freaky, ugly..."REPULSIVE!"

One man when I asked a question? pulled away in horror and scurried away, so embarrassed that he might be seen with me. He looked around quickly and then answered my question on the run. A man who would have been vying for my attentions before Coleman.

I personally do not have answers for you. The "Happy Bimbo" above, has not read that I already sought help, but could not find a doctor to touch me. They were afraid of the mess left by Coleman. Perhaps one of the others here may have some help to offer. My best to you in your search. And thank yo for your kind words of support.

This is my last posting. Tired of it all. The pictures will arrive at some point in time. Promise! And Coleman has not been successful in shutting down this post. The owners of this complaint board is not intimidated by his lawyers. And considering that we are all very legitimate victims...Coleman already knows..."HE IS POWERLESS WITHOUT HIS ANESTHESIA!"

Happy Patient, You must be a "BIMBO?" I cannot fathom how anyone could be so damn stupid? And thank God people "are" reading this. Mind you, that is why we post here. Not to complain...but explain the "ONLY" horrible anything here, which is our having been mutilated. Kind of hard to let go, when it stares you back in the mirror daily. Being here is part of our healing processs and an attempt to spare innocent lives.

The only sensible thing I have heard from you thus far is, your question..."Why Don't You Do Something About What Happened To You?" There is acknowledgement on your part that something "did" happen to us and at the same time...you state that what we say in untrue. You contradict yourself?

Now ask yourself...why "you" are here? Why are you not enjoying life, rather than just sitting around here complaining about our supposed complaining?

please happy patient, send me a photo of your 28 year young beautiful face. beauty is subjective, while mutilation is not. better yet, give us your address and we can all come to see your beautiful face in person. all of us. i might add, if i looked as good as you think you do, i would not be sitting at my computer trying to convince the unfortunate ones that we are nuts, i might be giving thanks for the "good luck" the higher powers bestowed upon you while in the darkness of anesthesia at the mercy of a mad man. you are very selfish, speaking of yourself and sydney, compassion is something you need to learn, quickly, if i were you.

i just want to say to all of you who are suffering that i am so terribly sorry for what happened to you. my heart goes out to you.

my face was damaged by a laser and i am seeking fat grafting as way to fix the scars and fat loss. thank goodness there is the internet to save people like me from making more mistakes. i plan on doing fat grafting on the west coast. i have not read anything negative about my doctor who is well known in the fat grafting world but still worry that my body may take the fat incorrectly due to the scar tissue from the laser treatments. i suppose it is all a risk but i feel i must do something. are there good fat grafts? or do you think it is all scar tissue that causes the fullness?

again, many blessing to you all on your journey...the one you did not choose.

Coleman:

"You can fool some of the people some of the time..but you cannot fool all the people all the time"

Your lipostructure technique does not work stop the lies and take responsibility for your actions, if you keep destroying people lives it will eventually destroy yourself...

Perspective Patient. People reach out to me as you have, because I am believable. I am sorry for not having posted any pictures as of yet. The word that comes to mind regarding Coleman? "RUSSIAN ROULETTE!" Seek out another surgeon. You do not need to have any confirmation. You already know in your gut. Listen to your intuition.

Again, will re-think getting my pictures up. I know that it needs to get done. Thanks for the gentle reminder. :)

Hey you, the one stating everyone thinks you look twenty-eight? This is a "Complaint Board." So we are voicing our complaints to protect others. You are not protecting anyone other than Coleman.

I question your motivation and lack of sensitivity, towards those here who have nearly commited suicide, myself included. Rape of the body is rape of the mind.

So, for the first time I would like to say to people like you..."Please spare us, go mutilate your face and then come back...when you have had the experience! Because right now, you have nothing significant to share. Your opinion is meaningless/worthless!

I had surgery with Dr coleman 2 years ago, He was highly recommended by many doctors here in Virginia, actually when I asked one surgeon about him, he told me he has been waiting months to visit and learn his procedure more:)...I had the surgery, he did my jawline, my nose, under my eyes, and my cheeks..I was swollen for a good 2 months..but NOW everyone can NOT guess my age..they all think i am 28.I am really 42...I think he is wonderful and Whatever u are saying about him, is so untrue!...

Several days ago, I went to see him hoping that he would be able to look at me objectively and give me some honest answers to my questions. He walked into the room with his head slightly titled down and the tone of his voice was meek. He quickly sat at his table anxious to show me my photographs, and make excuses for all that bothered me. He insisted that I had wrinkes under my eyes, thus causing the deep grooves upon smiling. He failed to admit that the huge deposits of fat or scar tissue, that clumped when I smiled was the cause of the grooves. He nervously jotted down notes and was quite set back when I refused to be photographed by him at that appointment. His advise was to allow him to inject additional fat to fill out the grooves or to gently liposuction the deposits out. Of course, neither one would have a guaranteed outcome. This was not an option, as I did not see him to schedule a revision, I was there for answers. After several minutes of disputing that I looked great, as he said I did, he became angry and quickly closed my file, as to dismiss me. I left, his tighlty secured office, feeling pity on him. I wondered what he had ever done right in his life besides graduating medical school. I wondered about what must have been a tormented childhood for him to have grown into this person. Had no one ever taught him that making a mistake and owning it was far greater than denying it. I wondered how he could be void of all spirituality, a shell of a man, empty inside. The lonley existence of Sydney, similar to The Phantom of the Opera or Jeckyl and Hyde. These personalities, so distorted by rejection and harm from their past. Presently filled with hatred, anger and evil. I thought how pathetic his life must be, and then I thought of all the contributers on this board. The strenght, courage and hope that each one possesses. The kindness and honesty you share with others, in hope of saving yet another patient from his mark. We will all prevail, because of our determination and honesty, as we are judged every day of our lives. In closing, I would just like to remind Sydney that if you do evil in your present life, your next one will be one of hardship and pain. Perhaps, even those on death row know this, as they all seem to repent for their sins before they take their last breath.

Let us not forget, Coleman is causing so much damage by intentionally...experimenting and mutilating his victims. This is beyond his skills being questioned...it is about integrity, violated ethics. He tries a bit of this and tries a bit of that...all without the consent or knowledge of his victims. If it works, great...if not? OH! Too bad. But meanwhile, Coleman has figured out what does work for his practice at the expense of the lives of others.

Let us also not forget, the intentional mutilations. Vaginal entry for mutilation, leaving flaps of skin inside. Removing fat from the labia area. On and on and on. This is not a man who should be doing anything other than rotting in prison where he cannot harm others. Who could possibly trust any scientific outcome by a psychopath? Or feel confident in any teachings by one who cannot be trusted?

I understand the longing for what could have been, but shifting the focus of him holding another position of authority...only detracts from the fact...the man is incapable of anything other being held accountable...for which I can gaurantee he will be. The force is already in motion. Hold that thought.

YES, THE FACT THAT SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE SUCCESSFUL GRAFTING CAN BE QUITE DISTURBING TO THE ONES THAT WERE DISFIGURED BY IT. IT DOES IN FACT SEEM LIKE SUCH AN EASY PROCEDURE, SIMILAR TO FILLING WITH RESTYLINE. WHAT SKILL DOES IT REALLY TAKE TO FILL EVENLY, AND NOT OVERFILL. WHY DO SO MANY DOCTORS PERFORM THIS DAILY WITH NO COMPLICATIONS? THERE IS A WOMAN IN MY GYM THAT HAD HER FACE DONE, SHE LOOKED GORGEOUS AT ONE MONTH POST OP. SHE DID NOT HAVE TERRIBLE BRUISING AND SHE LOOKS TOTALLY NATURAL. WHY COLEMAN, WHY DO YOUR SKILLS SUCK? MAYBE YOU SHOULD STICK TO SCIENCE AND TEACHING, CAUSE ITS OBVIOUS, YOU JUST DON'T HAVE THE HANDS IT TAKES TO BE A SURGEON.

"Absolutley Mad" is putting it mildly! You are too kind. That last post was actually depressing Unhappy Patient. To know that this has been going on for so long and that others have fine results.

It's such a terrible injustice, that in this day and age...as Victim told me last night in conversation..."IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA"...how this continues?

And how sad that we could even be put in such a postion...to be considered...so unbelievably naive. Things must change. When you put your trust in a doctor, it should be a correct assummption..."I AM SAFE!"

My personality has been so altered by this. I now need to create a new one, because I do not like the one I have become. Coleman has created a "HELL ON EARTH...FOR ALL THE LIVES HE HAS DESTRYOED!"

Prayer for all.
May we be released from the prison of isolaton and torment...forced upon us by Coleman. May we see justice served in the courts and Coleman confined for his remaining days. May he experience the Hell he has inflicted upon all. May he know how it feels to suffer what we have all endured, each and every one of us. May he see the truth in what he has done. May we find forgiveness, so that it does not destroy what beauty remains in us. May God place us into the hands of skilled and compassionate surgeons, so that we might remember who we are. Amen...

Have a great day. Peace.

IT IS INTERESTING, THE MORE I SEARCH, THE MORE I FIND. THERE ARE SO MANY NEGATIVE POSTS ABOUT COLEMAN ON SO MANY FORUMS. THERE ARE SO MANY WONDERFUL OUTCOMES BY OTHER DOCTORS. MOST PATIENTS HAVE HARDLY ANY BRUISING AND VERY LITTLE SWELLING. I WAS GREEN FOR MONTHS!
I TELL YOU, THE MAN IS MAD...ABSOLUTELY MAD.

YES THATS PROBABLY WHY IT HAS TO BE INJECTED WITHA CANNULA. IF IT WERE SMALL AMOUNTS A NEEDLE WOULD DO JUST FINE. THATS WHAT MOST DOCTORS WITH GOOD RESULTS USE...

Interesting. I was never told by Coleman that "Lipostructure" involved large amounts of fat? We had discussed a fine layer of fat.

WRITTEN BY A DOCTOR

"Priscilla Presley appears to have had quite a bit of work done lately. Her cheeks have been overly-filled, likely with fat. I do quite a bit of fat grafting, but one of the keys to fat grafting in a natural way is to avoid injecting it in the lower face, with the exception of in the lips and under each corner of the mouth. Her face has become more rounded, with too much fullness in the jaw area and cheek hollows. This may be a consequence of a type of fat grafting called "Lipostructure, " where very large amounts of fat are injected.

Do you actually believe...that anyone reading these posts...would risk such a monster performing on them? Unless of course you are into S&M? That is the only possible explanation...unless of course you are "LYING WITH COLEMAN!"

HELLO,

YES!I AM AN UNFORTUNATE COLEMAN PATIENT. I DID READ PAGE 7 AND I APPRECIATE THE INFO. YES, IT WAS STEVE NORTH, VERY NICE AND SMART MAN...I AM PART OF THE CLASS ACTION SUIT. IT WAS MY PLEASURE TO JOIN THE FIGHT TO HAVE HIM STOPPED FROM HURTING OTHERS. I HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN A MEDICAL MALPRACTICE SUIT AND I CAN SAY FROM EXPERIENCE, THE MONEY IS WORTHLESS, IT IS PAID "TO MAKE YOU WHOLE", BUT IT DOESN'T WORK. I WOULD RATHER FIGHT TO HAVE HIM STOP PRACTICING. I HAVE BEEN USING ULTRA SOUND AND IF ANY OF YOU GUYS ARE IN NEW YORK, I WILL POST THE NAME OF A WOMAN I RECENTLY FOUND THAT SAYS SHE HAS WORKED OUT FAT FROM A COLEMAN PATIENT. SHE IS LOCATED IN MANHATTAN AND USES RADIO FREQUENCY, LYPMH DRAINAGE AND ULTRA SOUND TO BREAK UP THE BANDS OF FAT AND SCAR TISSUE. I WAS TOLD BY A DOCTOR AND A FORMER COLEMAN EMPLOYEE SAID HE MIXES HIS FAT WITH SOMETHING...DOES ANYONE KNOW ABOUT THIS? MAYBE THATS WHAT THE P/S MEANT WHEN HE CALLED HIM UNETHICAL.
GOOD WEEKEND TO ALL

the attorney did not "search" me out. i had brief phone contact with another patient, who contacted the attorney and gave himemy name and number to contact me and see if i wanted to be involved in a class action suit. i am assuming that is ongoing. i have heard nothing in a while, but these things take time. the ama is a very hard group to penetrate, they are protected by top notch well paid attorneys that think nothing of emotionally raping a victum of medical malpractice. it is very ugly. i am not spending my time thinking of that, i am using all of my energy to find a solution to this problem. if i cannot find a solution, i will seek out an attorney, as i think one has three years. the doc listed above is out of town this week, but i will speak to him when he returns. i'll post what he has to say.

Not the same attorney. You would have had to call him. I do not know of any attorney that searches out people like that? Wish I had... the moment I was maimed by Coleman.

Makes one wonder? If people are getting such frequent overcorrection, why are these doctors...including Coleman (NOT taking into account Coleman's intentional and barbaric experimentation/mutilations, against the will of his patients) still continuing with such a deforming procedure. MONEY! GREED! MORE CRIMINALS! We all know the world of plastic surgery is full of them.

All the more reason to appreciate and honor the remaining few, who are capable of loving beyond themselves.

Corey,

To address your attorney question. I have looked for his name, but, I have no record of it. Perhaps it was not your attorney that called me. He said that he was representing a group of patients and wanted to know if I wanted to participate. I said yes, and was then contacted by the BOH. This attorney, as I remember checking him out on the web was a very successful, high profile male, on the older side, Manhattan based guy. I believe his practice was limited to medical malpractice cases. Thats all I remember, and if I find his name, I will certainly post it for you.
Thanks

THE PROBLEM OF EXCESSIVE GRAFTING OF FAT IN THE FACE
[Correspondence And Brief Communications]
Wilkinson, Tolbert S. M.D.

One Oak Hills Place

1901 Babcock Road, Suite 200

San Antonio, Texas 78229

Sir:

This letter is prompted by the appearance of a celebrity actress on a morning television show who exhibited the same facial overcorrection fat grafting that I have encountered in my own practice.

Fat grafting for restoration of facial contours, lip enhancement, the marionette line restoration, and other facial applications has been a successful part of my personal practice since 1984. Perhaps in proof that if a procedure is a success, it can be overdone, I have been in contact with many of our colleagues regarding the overcorrection syndrome after reporting my personal experiences with celebrities and other individuals in the journal that I edit, Technical Forum.

Each of these patients has a similarity that was not encountered in the early years of fat grafting in pretunneled areas. The Neanderthal look refers to a bursa of fatty tissue that is resistant to obliteration techniques. In these individuals, fibrous bursas containing living fat cells above the eyebrow, in the temple, and below the malar eminence show evidence of contracture, giving a ball-like appearance with facial expression in the cheek, and a distinctly bizarre temple and periorbital appearance with the face at rest.

In our 3-year experience with external ultrasound application, we verified the laboratory findings that external ultrasound breaks fat into smaller globules and breaks down fibrous tissue with skin contracture. 1

After the 1997 series, evaluation of the ability of external ultrasound to dissolve fat in areas such as the flank, jowl, and neck in which minimal amounts of fat are present was a breakthrough. This has been confirmed by other physicians. The effect demonstrated in my teaching seminars and presentations has been duplicated. In the most difficult case that I have encountered, bizarre fat bursal pouches were located around and above facial nerve areas in the upper face. A series of careful external ultrasound applications followed by physical break-up of the bursa with aspiration was successful. Continued external ultrasound treatment led to resolution of the remaining fat and softening of the remaining bursa. This technique will be discussed in detail in a future edition of Technical Forum.

Since my initial commentary on the overcorrection syndrome, colleagues on the east and west coasts have reported similar situations and have dealt with them less than successfully by simple aspiration. The addition of external ultrasound and a planned protocol should be adopted by any plastic surgeon who encounters this problem.

i spoke with demetrios georgakopoulos and m.j. slater, both at the dept of health. i sent in complaint forms. i do not see why you question that i am a patient, when all i post are either questions pertaining to removing fat, or options that i find searching the web and speaking to doctors that might work. if you do not want me to post any info i find, i will be happy to comply. i am not here to sideswipe you, he is an unethical man who does surgery that he knows poses many problems without remorse. unethical, was the term used to describe him by a doctor that knows him well. i can't say his name as if coleman reads this, i don't want to put the doctor in the hotseat. he did say that coleman knows damn well all the problems with his technique. he should be a scientist, working in a lab, not a surgeon destroying lives. i too live with this mess every day, but i refuse to think that somehow, someway, i, we, can't get it fixed. i have started the ultrasound therapy, and doing it 2x daily, will also start on the enzyme i listed above. if you like, i will post progress if there is any. if not i understand, and will just wish you all well.

Post Operative Scars and Lesions

Post Operative Scars and Lesions can be both internal and external and are the source of much discomfort. Medical intervention is not very successful as it may leave the situation even worse.

How can Serrapeptase Help?

Serrapeptase helps immensely as it slowly digests all of the dead tissue/scar tissue. By clearing away this problem tissue it enables the body’s own healing system to replace it with healthy tissue.

How many do I take?

Start with 3 Tablets of Serrapeptase x 3 times per day on an empty stomach until discomfort has gone. Then gradually reduce to 1 x 1 and maintain this until the scarring reduces to a point where it is no longer a problem.

THIS IS A RESPONSE FROM A P/S REGARDING ULTRA SOUND.

Hello Dr. Garcia. I am 2 years post op fat grafting surgery by Coleman. I have horrible lumps and bumps under and above my eyes. I realize that this could be fat encased in scar tissue so it cannot be cut out. Before I try Kenalog, which frightens me a bit, do you think daily ultra sound treatments will help to break up the scar tissue? If so, do you have any suggestions for the settings and duration of treatment time. Many thanks for your help.

Answer: I think ultrasound might help, and I also think a small nick with a blade and trying to push the oil out might help to smooth it out some. I think the setting should start low and increase as tolerated until it is at the maximum, best of luck. JG 5.20.08

FYI
SAW A SPORTS MEDICINE DOCTOR TODAY FOR SPORTS INJURY. SPOKE TO HIM ABOUT THE TREATMENT HE SUGGESTED, ULTRASOUND, BEING ONE OF THEM TO BREAK UP SCAR TISSUE WHICH IS CAUSING SOME SWELLING. EXPLAINED THE COLEMAN ISSUE, AND ASKED HIM IF HE THOUGHT IT WOULD WORK ON MY FACE. HE SAID YES, ABSOLUTELY. I AM CHECKING FOR SPAS THAT DO ULTRASOUND FACIALS (I HAVE READ ABOUT THEM) AND WILL START WITH TREATMENTS. DID SOME SEARCHES ON ULTRA SOUND FOR SCAR TISSUE, AND THE ARTICLES SEEM TO VALIDATE HIS OPINION. WORTH A TRY.
