To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with the handling of a recent matter involving a past-due notice. The notice in question is dated August 23, 2023, and carries the reference number [protected]. According to this notice, I am being held accountable for an outstanding balance of $126.50, supposedly related to a parking violation ticket issued on July 19, 2023.

I wish to emphatically state that I have never received an initial parking violation ticket in connection with the incident mentioned. This revelation has caught me off guard and has given rise to substantial concern. As someone who diligently upholds parking regulations and addresses any infractions promptly, I am perplexed by this situation.

To provide context, on July 19, 2023, my wife had an absolutely critical ultrasound appointment scheduled at the MedRay imaging clinic for 2 p.m. Given her ongoing pregnancy morning sickness and complicated condition, we found ourselves with no alternative but to make a brief emergency stop to address her well-being. Notably, the navigation data from our vehicle unequivocally indicates our departure from our residence at 13:35, with the sole intention of ensuring timely arrival at the appointment.

Upon meticulous review of the sentry mode and dashcam recording of our vehicle, it becomes evident that there was no interaction whatsoever with Diamond Parking Services personnel during this brief stop. Neither communication nor engagement transpired with any representatives of the parking enforcement team. This underscores unequivocally that the stop was a direct response to an emergency and warranted immediate action.

In light of these circumstances, I am utterly perplexed by the past-due notice received, asserting an alleged parking violation for which no initial ticket was ever received. The absence of any initial ticket issuance has created an atmosphere of needless stress and confusion.

I took it upon myself to contact British Columbia Vice President Mike Poirier of Diamond Parking Services via email, outlining the circumstances and respectfully seeking compassion and understanding. In response, an email was received indicating a reduction of the ticket amount to $84. However, my query remains: Where is the humanity and understanding when it comes to charging individuals for emergency parking situations lasting less than 2 minutes, particularly when there are no alternative options?

I implore your guidance in this matter, seeking a resolution that encompasses not just legalities but also the principles of humanity, understanding, and fairness. I pose this question to you: When faced with a comparable situation involving your own family members' health and well-being, would your attention be more drawn to parking signs or to the immediate needs of your loved ones?
