Department of Home Affairs review: Letter of no impediment

Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Conduct of Hlamarisa Msengi

Dear Home Affairs Office

,I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the conduct of Ms. Hlamarisa Msengi at Pretoria home affairs head office in Bosman, in relation to the processing of my Letter of No Impediment.

On 22.6.2026 I submitted my application for this document, which is required for my upcoming marriage in Zimbabwe on 11th August 2026,Unfortunately, Ms. Msengi’s handling of my application has been marked by significant delays and a lack of attention to duty, which contrasts with the standards of service expected under the Batho Pele principles.Specifically: Ms. Msengi, when I called her since the 30th of July 2026, she said we must email her the documents, which was done by Mamelodi home affairs, on top of that she ask how did I sent my application, i dnt work at home affairs how am I supposed to know, I gave her my ID as well as date, and the place I applied at, what was so difficult for her to press her computer and get answers unlike me spoon feeding her with information, and I did my follow up again on 31st July 2026, she still asked me, which email did I use, like how do you do that, yes she receives a lot of emails, but taking note of urgent matters won't kill her let alone take something from her, she said we must email we did and still she failed to do proper procedures as I still have to wait till Monday, my wedding is next week, time is not on my side, The delay has caused considerable emotional distress, financial strain, and health concerns, as I am unable to complete the necessary steps such as document authentication in time. Prior to this, I received excellent service from the Mamelodi Home Affairs office, highlighting that these issues were not due to procedural requirements but rather Ms. Msengi’s approach to her work. I kindly request that your office investigate this matter and take the necessary corrective action to ensure that my application is completed promptly. Furthermore, I suggest reviewing Ms. Msengi’s adherence to service standards to prevent similar occurrences for other citizens. Till today no assistance
