I wanna update my review from earlier this month. After talkin' with Rob at Culligan, I feel better 'bout the company overall. Rob was real upfront 'n honest 'bout the tough time they've had (like lotsa companies) tryin' to find people for jobs. I 'preciated the explanation 'n the way he said it.

Culligan Water Company of Ohio I got both the water softener and filtration systems, and I signed up for their "privilege program" for home service

I got both the water softener and filtration systems, and I signed up for their "privilege program" for home service. The installation went fine, but the service has been a big letdown. I've been needing to change my water filters for a while now, but every time I call, I end up talking to their answering service because they're "not available" during regular business hours. Finally, when I did manage to speak with the scheduler, she was rude and disrespectful. She basically said, "this is what I can offer you, do you wanna schedule or not". I scheduled an appointment for more than a month from now, but I'm thinking of finding replacement filters elsewhere and canceling my service program.

Culligan Water Company of Ohio I've been a customer of Culligan for a long time, using both the AC-30 and Medallist 8 softeners

I've been a customer of Culligan for a long time, using both the AC-30 and Medallist 8 softeners. About a month ago, I called to request service for my AC-30 because of a leaky connection. They scheduled me for a Thursday morning a couple of weeks later, but nobody showed up even after waiting for several hours. I called and they told me that one of their repairmen had taken the day off, so they rescheduled me for the following Thursday morning. I mentioned that I was only available until noon, and they assured me that it wouldn't be a problem and made a note to prioritize my appointment. But once again, nobody showed up after waiting for several hours. I called at 11am and they said they would come at noon. I explained that I couldn't be available in the afternoon, and they scolded me, saying that my "morning" appointment could arrive until 1pm, so it was my fault. Frustrated, I asked if I could have an afternoon appointment on a Friday, and they set it up for the next week. On that day, I received a morning call informing me that once again their repairman had taken the day off, but they were willing to reschedule me for the next day (Saturday) in the afternoon. However, nobody showed up or even bothered to call. This is even worse than dealing with the cable company!

Culligan Water Company of Ohio I bought a $2,000.00 Water system from Culligan and they said they would take away my old stuff

I bought a $2,000.00 Water system from Culligan and they said they would take away my old stuff. The guy who installed it promised to send someone to pick up the old equipment, but that never happened. We can't get them to bring us salt, so my 75-year-old wife has to buy it from the store. The bags are super heavy and when we try to reach out to Culligan about the installation issue, they don't respond.

Culligan Water Company of Ohio I got a new water softener put in

I got a new water softener put in. The guy who installed it connected the back flow hose to the drain in the floor, but it was so wobbly that it fell apart with just a little touch. They were also supposed to test it to make sure it was working right, but they never reached out to me for that. I reached out to Culligan and talked to Megan at first, then Peggy the second time, and I asked to speak to the supervisor. But nobody has gotten back to me yet.

Culligan Water Company of Ohio Culligan sent a guy who didn't seem to know what he was doing to fix my cartridges

Culligan sent a guy who didn't seem to know what he was doing to fix my cartridges. He was banging on the chlorine filter with a hammer, making a really loud noise in the basement. I went down to see what was going on, and he said he couldn't open the casing because of the high pressure. The water was turned off at the time, and there was a pressure release switch available, so I don't understand why he couldn't do it. I have no idea what he actually did. He left in a hurry and forgot his jacket at my house.

Since that night, I've been having really bad stomach cramps and diarrhea. Even my family and our puppy aren't feeling well. When I called and talked to Tangela and Manager Melissa, they were really rude to me. Tangela even told me to just throw away the jacket.

Culligan Water Company of Ohio My water softner really needs a service call

My water softner really needs a service call. It was supposed to happen last week. I waited all day and nobody showed up. I called at 4:30 and they said they had to reschedule for the eighth, which is over a week away. Today is the eighth. I called at 10AM and they said they have to reschedule again! I asked to talk to the manager but she was busy and they said she'll call me back. She didn't call, so at 1:30 I called again and talked to her. By then, I was pretty mad. They have been totally disrespectful of my time. Now it's rescheduled for the 13th, two weeks after the original date.

Culligan Water Company of Ohio Culligan put in a water softener thingy in my basement 'bout two months ago

Culligan put in a water softener thingy in my basement 'bout two months ago. So, I had this fancy electrician come over to fix up our main circuit breaker box in the basement. And guess what? The electrician said that the water supply line for the water softener was put right above the circuit breaker box, and that's a big no-no according to the building code. They said it needs to be fixed pronto. I called Culligan three times to tell 'em 'bout this problem and asked 'em to fix it. Finally, they called me back. I talked to one of their big-shot managers and sent 'em some pictures of the water supply line and the circuit breaker box. And you know what? He agreed that it was a problem. He said he'd look into it and get back to me. But guess what? He never did! Can you believe it? It's crazy that a so-called professional water softener company would install a water supply line right above a circuit breaker box, admit it's a problem, but then do nothing to fix it. Now I gotta hire my own plumbing company to fix their mistake 'cause they don't care.

Culligan Water Company of Ohio We got this Culligan Water filter thingy in our crib

We got this Culligan Water filter thingy in our crib. So, I hit up Culligan on December 16, to set up an appointment. But guess what? They called on the day and said, "Sorry, our techs ain't available." So, we rescheduled for December 27, but same old story, they canceled again. I was like, "Come on, man!" Finally, we set it up for January 6, 2022. The Culligan dude showed up, walked in, glanced at the system, and was like, "Nah, you need a new one." And then he bounced. He didn't even touch the thing or give it a proper check. Fast forward to the end of January, and Culligan sends me a bill for 160 bucks! I called them up and said, "Hold up, no service was done, so I ain't paying that much." I offered to pay for the tech's time to drive back and forth from Cincinnati, but that's it. My beef is that the tech did nothing, yet they charged me for a "Level 1 Diagnostic." I also told them I expected some compensation for the two days they canceled on me. I had to rearrange my schedule and miss out on work, you know? Right now, I'm standing my ground and refusing to pay for a service that never happened.

The Culligan Company is an essential business during the Corona virus pandemic, according to the Dept. of Homeland Security. They have remained open and continue to provide services, deliveries, and installations. I had a Culligan water softener installed on 1/30 through ***, Inc. with a six-month same-as-cash payment option. On 11/27, I completed the Online Signing email document with salesperson Leslie B who visited my house. I have an email confirming that all parties have completed the *** documents and it was approved. However, I have received three billing statements from Culligan asking for full payment. Each time I called, they said they would take care of completing the financing. On 3/9, I called again and they said they would look into it. After a few days, I was asked to fill out another Online Signing email, which I did on 3/19. Today, 4/7, I received the third statement. I called and requested to speak with the Office Manager, Kerry, but was told she was at lunch and would call me back. Unfortunately, I never heard from her. At 4 pm, I called Culligan again and was instructed to contact the Sales Manager, Scott K (), at home. I left a message but haven't received a response. I want the financing to be completed as promised by Culligan to avoid any negative impact on my credit rating.

After lots of cancelled and scheduled appointments (Aug - Oct ‘21) to replace a busted R/O system tank and change filter we ended up buying the filters from Culligan (agreed to pay shipping ourselves) and changed them and rescheduled the tank replacement appointment again. On the day of the appointment, the technician came with a second set of filters and no tank. Finally, the next week a technician came and successfully replaced the tank. I had a discount coupon and saved it to our account (for previous coordination issues) and asked the technician to apply it to our bill please. He said the tank was under warranty and there was no charge. A month later I got a bill. I called to ask and was told we did owe for the service visit but not the tank itself that was under warranty. I agreed to pay less the coupon discount percentage. The rep put me on hold to get approval from her manager, agreed and I immediately paid the remaining amount over the phone. Since then I have received 4 bills (3 of them saying past due dates and now including added finance charges) for the difference that was supposedly removed due to the coupon. I called back 3 times. Two times I was told it was taken care of with zero balance (including a call back voicemail confirming). The third time (this January) I was told I’d get a follow-up email proving the zero remaining balance this time. That email never came and now at the start of Feb ‘22 I have received another past due invoice plus finance charge. The reps are friendly and seem helpful yet the billing issue (that they agree should be corrected) is never actually resolved. I don’t know who else to call at this point and it seems to either be a systemic billing issue that they are unwilling to fix or a tactic to get people to pay anyway to save time on follow-up calls and get the billing notices to stop.

Culligan Water Company of Ohio I asked for an appointment on November 15th cuz my husband and I bought our home in October with a water softening system

I asked for an appointment on November 15th cuz my husband and I bought our home in October with a water softening system. The system was making a loud noise so we wanted it serviced and we wanted to learn about our products since we didn't know anything about them. Our appointment was on November 27th. Doug and Leslie came to our home. Doug said the current water softener system that was making the loud noise wasn't working and needed to be replaced. Leslie showed us different options we could buy. While she did that, Doug serviced our system on our kitchen sink, changed filters out, and added another tank in the basement since we had 5 people living in our house. He also rerouted the water lines in the basement (that we just paid a plumber to do) to work effectively with our kitchen sink and refrigerator. While Doug was working, he kept raving about how we had a great product on our kitchen sink and we'll love it once it works properly. I trusted both Leslie and Doug because honestly this was my first experience with a water softener. I paid the service fee with Doug, and we settled on a new package with Leslie. The system we bought was suitable for 5 people living in one home and we were told we only have to put 4 bags of salt in it about 3-4 times a year. Leslie made an appointment with me and my husband for the new system to be installed on November 29th. She also said she'll call me to set up an appointment to check the water levels after the new system is installed. On the evening of November 27th, I was in my basement and heard water dripping. I walked over to the multiple tanks that Doug had been working on earlier that day. There was a steady water drip coming from the blue water lines he had been working on and servicing. I called the emergency help line I found on the Culligan website to see what could be done. A guy told me to turn valves on the water lines and that someone would contact me the next day to fix the problem. The guy was rude on the phone because I couldn't stop the water drip and I didn't understand the products. I hung up the phone extremely frustrated and water still dripping in my basement. The next day was Thanksgiving so I knew no one would be working so on the morning of November 29th I called the Culligan office. I knew I had an appointment for that day so I told the woman that answered the phone what happened on Wednesday night. She said she'll tell the driver that'll be at my house later that day. I also asked her if I could speak to someone about getting compensation for my water bill since water had been leaking in my basement for 3 days. She gave me Russel's voicemail. I left a message asking for Russel to call me back, but he never did. On November 29th, someone from Culligan came to my home to swap out the old system with a new system. He was nice and answered all my questions. He also fixed the water leak from November 24th. He added 4 bags of salt into the new system, and said we should be good for about 3-4 months on salt. He left my house and my husband and I felt really good about our new purchase. About a month to 5 weeks later, my husband checked the salt levels and noticed it was getting low and we would need to add salt soon. I called Culligan asking if someone could come out and check the softener because I was told by multiple employees that we wouldn't have to add salt for at least 3-4 months. I also asked if our water levels could be checked since that appointment was never made by Leslie our salesperson. Within 2 weeks of me calling Culligan someone came to my home, checked the water levels and told us that the product we bought requires salt much more than every 3-4 months since we had 5 people in our family. I expressed that this isn't what we were sold on, but there wasn't much I could do at this point so I said thank you and let it go. I was extremely frustrated because I was told by multiple people that this softener was good for 5 people. At this time I was losing trust in the company. On April 10th, I was getting something from under my sink and to my surprise there was water dripping from the Culligan water faucet that Doug had maintained on November 27th. The water had been dripping for some time...maybe months because my kitchen cabinet was destroyed. I called Culligan and tried to schedule an appointment to fix the leak. I also asked about how much a service call would cost because everything was just serviced in November. I was told I'd have to pay $150.00 for the service call and for parts. Frustrated with this answer I asked to speak with a manager. She was at lunch but called me back within an hour. After explaining everything I went through since November she said there was no record of Doug working on our existing system in our kitchen on November 27th. The notes only said that he replaced the filters. She also told me that there was no record of the leak being repaired on November 29th, and that she'd have to speak with Russel about waiving the service fee. She told me that Russel would be in touch with me on April 13th when he'd be back in the office. I feel like I've been lied to by multiple people in the company and since November 27th I've paid $3,238.33 directly to the company, bought bags of salt I wasn't expecting to buy, and my kitchen cabinet is ruined. Also, my kitchen sink faucet that was installed by Culligan and worked on by Culligan is still leaking. I'm beyond frustrated and upset with this company.
