On 6/20 the Ford focus went in for an oil change
On 6/20 the Ford focus went in for an oil change. it didn't even make it 5 miles home. The check engine light had came on. Long story short , our car hasn't ran right since. We had to have it towed twice! We've paid out near $500. And the car is still not the same as it is no longer quite.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
It was brought in on 06/20/20 for oil change at 36084 miles.
On 06/22/20 it was towed back into the shop for a check engine light and it would not idle (36112 miles). There is a service bulletin for this type of activity because Ford is aware of the issue and repairs were performed at no cost to the customer per the ***.
On 07/21/20 the vehicle was brought back into the service department for the concern of a brake pedal going to the floor (36763 miles). Upon inspection a brake hose had developed a leak. The hose was replaced at the customer expense because the vehicle is out of factory warranty by miles and date.
Though the repairs occurred close in proximity of each other they are not related. The check engine light is related to electronics in the emission system and the oil change would not cause this nor are there any signs for a technician to see that the light is about to come on. It comes on when there is a fault or code in the computer system because something in the system is not operating at specifications. The brake hose is a wear part and if it had been leaking at the time of the oil change we would have informed the customer.
We are sorry for the customer's inconvenience but do not feel we are responsible to reimburse repairs on the vehicle that is out of warranty. I am unclear where the customer came up with the $485 amount for reimbursement.

$199 or State Required Safety and Inspection (MVI) Dealer Fee $695. They are illegaly charging an extra 695 for dealer fee. Missouris max fees are 199. I bought a 2012 Nissan Pathfinder, and was charged an extra 900 on top of the asking price. I then did some research and realized I was charged 695 illegally.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
