I began the program because it was the only program that offered a loan to pay off my debts after “6 consecutive on time payments”. After the 6 payments it took multiple calls to get info on the loan. Turns out they use a third party for the loan and it is the same as any other loan approval process. After 6 months my credit was awful and the interest rate and terms reflected that. The interest and term would have increased my payments and extended my payments an additional 18 months. I was also told at the start that once everything is paid off they have to remove the negative remarks from your credit reports and my credit will be better because the accounts have all been settled. Now I’m being told they “are not credit specialists”. I was also told that they will get my accounts settled for 60% or more. What they don’t tell you is they charge 25% of the original credit amount for their settlement fees. Between the settlement and their 25% fee your “settled” credit account cost you almost what it would have cost if you paid it yourself. When I began I thought I knew the right questions to ask and spoke with them for months before I decided to do the program. What I didn’t know is they are NOT lawyers, you are NOT protected and the amount that they settle for you can actually settle directly with the credit card company yourself and not pay their hefty 25% fee. There also isn’t any follow up. I had an account settle 6 months ago and today I received a settlement amount for $150 directly from the creditor. Cordoba settled the account for $360 and charged almost $200 in fees. They also refused to contact the creditor but told me they’d send me a “paid in full letter” that I can send to the creditor. The past 9 months have been an education and if I could go back 9 months, I would have not destroyed my credit to do this program.

Cordoba Legal are crooks looking out for themselves: their fees. After discovering that these people who are not transparent or communicative made settlements without my consent. I brought this matter to their attention and they cancelled my contract in retaliation. These people have no empathy or morals!

This company has been uncommunicative, not transparent, and avoidant to requests for updates and modifications. After months of dissatisfaction, I requested that the accounts that are not under an agreed upon settlement to be removed from their portfolio.

I called each of the unenrolled creditors to arrange payment plans on my own. I came across two accounts: Chase and Synchrony Bank, that were pending past due settlement payments. I informed the creditors that these were not authorized but they are unable to undo the settlement plans.

I informed Manuel Jimenez of the matter and he provided me settlement release forms. I questioned why would I have to submit settlement release forms when I did not authorize these settlements like I did with the other two settlements. He refused to give me a straight answer.

I reached out to Jimenez again via email stating that the settlement release forms does not suffice in undoing the settlements and requested that they reach out the creditors and get it straightened out as now the creditors are expecting me to pay $1,000 a month, which I cannot pay.

I received no response via email and called Jimenez over the telephone where he proceeded to gaslight and deflect the matter. I asked Jimenez specifically if it were possible that the representative failed to communicate that they took a settlement as there has been an on-going pattern of poor communication. Jimenez denied that that could be possible.

I called Synchrony Bank and Chase Bank who stated that Alex Gomez was offered settlements and accepted them on August 17th and 18th via telephone.

This was without my consent which goes against the agreement between myself and Cordoba and has me facing my accounts to be charged-off which will be detrimental to my credit

I have trusted the legal group to pay my outstanding bills above $300.00 that where being paid on time off per contract (8) payees to be negotiated with. Representative assured me that is safe and legal and my credit scores would improve tremendously with my agreement of a 6 month payments. My contact began on the 6 of September 2022 with payments of 6th of every month. Everyone (8) payees have been contacting me for late payments, driving my credit scores down so far 50 - 100pts in just 2 months. In inquiring about the reduction of points, is very troubling to me.
