Renew passport
Almost 5-6 months to renew my passport.
Appointment available from January 2024
My passport expires in 5 months and I can’t book any flight, it is a joke. They never answer phone call, the do check emails but they never follow up right away and answer them is not possible.
I need help please.
I also live 3 hour and half away rom the consulate
As well, I have asked for a near appointment and the answer was to check regularly as there will be some cancellation. If you book an appointment you can’t check any other date unless cancel the old one.

On the 29th March 2018 I had an interview with Patricia at the Italian Consulate in Melbourne she was quite rude that I actually asked her to speak a little nicer to me as I was going through a tough separation with my ex husband. She started to speak in Italian and I asked her to speak in English as that was easier for me to understand. She said to me in a rude manner "why are you going to Italy if you can't speak Italian ". When the interview was finished I forgot to ask for my passport and obviously she didn't return it either. I noticed it missing outside and emailed the consulate as it is impossible to call as they don't answer the phones. I got a reply a few days later saying my passport wasn't there. I emailed a couple more times stating it has to be there as that was the last place I had it. I also asked Frank Calabria from the Patronato in Brunswick to ask them as he attends the consulate weekly, he also said they couldn't find it.
On the 26th May i got a message through Facebook messenger asking me if I had lost my passport from Gabrielle Marchetti, I said I did and how was she to know. She told me she found it with her passport. She couldn't work out how and why it was there. I asked her to drop it off at the nearest police station as she was leaving for Italy that afternoon. I picked up my passport the next day as the police had called me. I emailed the Italian consulate again and explained what had happened and they haven't replied. This is a criminal offence and I would like an explanation and also be reimbursed for the new passport as I had to apply for a new one. The cost was $468, it's not a matter of just the cost but also for my stress, anxiety and duress of not knowing where it was and also that I'm leaving on the 15th June to go to Italy. I would appreciate if someone can contact the consulate and have an explanation please.
