NutriSystem deceptive business practices

I received a promotional offer from Nutrisystem in the mail for "1 week free, " prompting me to check out their website. On the normal website, the price listed for a 4-week program was $239, but I couldn't find a way to enter the promotion code for the free week. Looking closer at the offer, it gave a web address that took me straight to the promotional offer for "1 week free." The pricing on this separate page was $299. When I used their online customer service chat function to try to understand the discrepancy, the representative first agree that the current price was $239, then began to adamantly declare the price was $299, and I could choose my promotion for "1 week free" or their "rollback price" of $239 - the current price. Confusing and deceptive - I wouldn't trust a company that tries to pull the wool over their customers' eyes like this on the front end to do the right thing in helping me achieve my weight loss goals. Buyer beware!

We have received a years' worth of both boxed and iced meals from Nutrisystem in a one-week period. We've canceled our debit card, talked to our bank and Nutrisystem's useless customer service (what a joke). Orders were set up as auto refill which, of course, doesn't explain why we've already received a year of food. I have never ever ordered Nutrisystem ever. I'm thinking about suing them. Their processes beg improvement or, at least, common sense.

I was one of the foolish ones. I browsed online, saw only their claims that there are NO COMMITMENTS CANCELL ANYTIME in large letters underneath every type of plan. I disliked the food, cancelled and then found out from a supervisor that at the bottom the lengthy web page that shows all their food plans, in small type hidden in a narrow box under a scroll. are the terms and conditions. Which states that there is a two month commitment.
I would never have entered that agreement. NO ONE told me there was a penalty for cancellation, I stated to the my order taker that my plan was to TRY the food. for one month to see if I liked it. It was horrible, Some meals so salty that they hit the trash immediately. If I didn't already have a bad taste in my mouth from the the strange tasting ingredient in the food. I certainly had one when I cancelled and found out that I was going to be charged 63.00 to cancel.

For one, I had the same two offers and it really wasn't that difficult to understand. You could get 4 weeks free, and pay more per month, or you could pay less per month. They tell you when you order that you have to pay back the $60 if you cancel--do you have any idea how much it costs to ship a 20lb package via UPS, and they don't charge us shipping? Not a NS employee, just a happy customer--and a customer who is losing weight.

NutriSystem credit card fraud

Nutrisystem, inc. Fraudulently billed my credit card twice on the same day. After more than a dozen phone calls and emails to their "customer service" (Pardon me, I gagged for a moment) department, I didn't get as much as an apology. I've filed with the bbb, the ftc, my credit card agency, cancelled the card, and hope to somehow communicate to these people that they cannot conduct business this way. Nuts!

My husband and I are into the Nutisystems program two months. We were overwhelmed with so much product and did return some for exchange. The meals are alright provided you can add some protein of your own and so far it is working.
However, our immediate concern is that someone in Pennsilvania has been using our credit card for their own purchases! Three the day after we were charged for our next delivery, my husband's credit card was cancelled. We don't know anyone in Pennsylvania nor have we been there!
The credit card company does NOT appear to be doing anything about it, investigating. They seem to be just writing it off eventhou we called to inform them of our suspicsions.
When we spoke with Nutrisystems staff, they stated we couldn't prove anyone on their staff could have done this, eventhou they were the only one's who had our credit information.
Has anyone else had this problem?

NutriSystem fraud

I purchased Nutri System Vegitarian Diet. I began my diet and after three days noticed that several of my soups had fish in them! I am vegitarian and it was labled as vegitarian. I called NS and was given the option of two soups to choose from. The soups came about a week later.

I canceled my order since the food was awful and there were only a few true vegitarian lunch items. I was assured that my order was canceled before my next shipment was scheduled. About two weeks later I received another shipment. I called NS and I was told to "refuse" the order. It was picked up four days later by UPS.

My online checking acccount showed that I was charged 299.95 for the food. I had to borrow money so that I would not overdraw on my checking account. I finally got them to credit my account then learned that I was being charged a $50.00 cancelation fee. I asked where it was on the website and the assistant could not tell me. I'm on a limited budget and I have been ripped off.

NutriSystem unauthorized charge

Be carefull! I ordered what I thought was a 30 day supply. Well, it was but I never asked for a second month. About 3 weeks into my origional order I noticed a charge to my credit card for a second month. I tried to cancel but they told me the order was already shipped. I spoke to a very rude woman who sounded like she was probably in India. I asked to speak with her supervisor and she refused to give me one. She told me they all went home for the day. With the way she spoke to me she probably wasn't lying because, one would hope that the way she was talking to me a supervisor would have stopped her. And about the meals they are very small and you will lose weight through starvation! I really am considering not buying anything again online since they just charge you without any notice, a phone call would have been nice. I have 4 children and I have to take care of them, now this week is going to be extremly tough for me because I only have $70. for the week...Thanks a lot Nutrisystem! When I told the Nutrisytem rep on the phone that she said well at least they won't go hungry! I feel so violated right now. The meals are small enough for my children I guess. This is just not right!

On January 2, 2009 I ordered a 5-week supply of Nutrisystem diet plan food, the cost of this is $335.82. When I received my statment from my credit card company there was an additional charge of $380.82. Apparently this last amount was an error on Nutrisystems part. I contacted Nutrisystem immediately and have since spoken - in the past week - to several staff members trying to correct this. Even Faxed a copy of my credit card statement. So far I have spoken to several people at Nutrisystem all promising this will be corrected immediately. So far no refund was sent to my credit company. They are a large international company and this is an unacceptable way of doing business.

This happened to me, also. I ordered the one month program, nothing was said about being automatically charged each month. I called to cancel upon receiving an e-mail about my next month's order (I had actually GAINED weight on this program and wanted to cancel). The woman I spoke with was somewhat rude, and said it was all there "under the terms and conditions" that I had to do two month's worth before I could cancel, or they would charge me $52.00. She transferred me to a voicemail, I left a message saying I am going to be contacting the BBB. I am pretty upset about this, and pretty disappointed with a company I had come to believe was reputable. It's not. Buyer, beware.

The food is terrible---causes diarrhea and stomach cramps. Looks and tastes awful almost slimy in texture. The "snack" items like "pretzels" and chips are not fit for human consumption.

NutriSystem money scam

Ordered it back in january, tried it, so unpalatable I shipped it back (One item tasted like spam).
First you have to get an authorization #, then it cost me 46 dollars (Not refundable) to send it back, they received it on feb. 16, I followed with call on april 24 wanting to know why my account wasn't credited and was told that somebody forgot to credit back my account, now it is the 2nd of may and i'm still waiting to get my money back. I would certainly cancel the auto ship right away. I'm still paying interest on my money.

We tried the product with results. The convience was a plus. However, upon returning the unused products we were onlt refund a portion of the original costs of the items. They exchange (Trade) products also. You are expected to pay up front for the products but, we waited for almost 6 weeks for a refund and then was only given a portion of what we had paid...

NutriSystem the stuff is terrible

Nutrisystem nourish
www.Nutrisystem. com

I ordered this system from the tv commercial. When I got it the food was so bad I could barely eat it. All the items that contained any type of tomato sauce tasted sour and seemed like they were spoiled. The chocolates ware all melted because the food has no dry ice or is not kept cool in any way. So the arizona heat melted it.

They should not be able to get away with the advertisement that is on tv.

This stuff is terrible.

I used the chat online and also filled out the form to cancel my subscription. I have contacted my bank and they will reject the payment also. When it comes I will refuse it or take it back to the Fed Ex store. The order number is [protected]. I also have called to cancel the auto delivery but it just keeps happening.

The app cannot seem to find the food when scanning. Even when you type in an item like strawberries, it seems to pull everything except the fruit. It is so clunky I quit using and have MUCH better success using my fitness pal.

NutriSystem completely ruined my metabolism. Whatever is in it makes you feel full (and bloated and you get what people call "nutritoots"). The calories are so restricted that you lose weight very quickly. Obviously, muscle goes too. Within a couple of months after quitting the program (after 4 months on it), I gained all of the weight back, plus 10 pounds. It has taken six months of intense exercise and healthy eating to fire my metabolism up again. I'm doing it the right way now, even though it takes longer.

You people have the WORST attitude imaginable. The food is NOT horrible. Saying that NS should be ashamed of themselves is one of the most ridiculous statements I have ever heard. Yes, they should be ashamed of themselves for offering people an affordable weight loss program. And all of those diabetics they have helped? What a bunch of a holes. They should be so ashamed for helping people to live healthier lifestyles. You people who complain about the foos are going to remain FAT because your attitude sucks, not because NS food sucks. Any excuse not to make a positive change. Any excuse not to do something challenging.

I’m stunned to think that anyone could say this food is even edible. After trying several lines of low-cal food, I sent for a box of NS and now realize that nausea and indigestion is what must lead to weight loss! It’s in edible.

I thought the food was pretty good...some of it was very good! I didn't love every item, but then, who does like every single item?! When I ordered the second time, I just ordered the things I liked. The convenience of it is so wonderful! The desserts are yummy, I thought...so were the snacks that are included in the dessert heading. I lost weight with this when I couldn't lose weight with other things.

If you work outside the home, it's so convenient to just grab an entree and go. You don't have to worry about counting calories, etc...and how hard is it to add a salad and a healthy vegetable to the, for example, lunch bar you took from home. You can go out for lunch and still stay on your healthy eating plan.

I love it!

I totally agree, the nutrisystem food is the WORST food I have ever tasted in my life! If people actually lost weight on this it is because they could not stomach the food. Honestly, my dogs would not eat it! I actually felt bad offering it to them. Nutrisystem should be ashamed of themselves to even call this stuff food! All the program really comes down to is the phamplet they give you, the foods you add are the secret and its all about portion. I have lost 35 pounds in the last 5 months just by cuttiing down on my portion size, giving up soda but not all the time, I drink a tom of iced tea with equal. I eat my fruits and veggies. I also get on my treadmill every day for 30 minutes to an hour. All this without that crao nutrisystem food which by the way is outrageously priced, you can even buy it at Big Lots now. Don't waste your time or money! Not fit for human consumption!

i have found that the food is very good, and very simple to follow the plan. Some times even when we buy products from our supermarkets we get spoiled food or food that tastes funny to us. that doesnt mean that the plan doesnt work or that all the food is terriable.
