This group charges £10 per head when booking a table and if you pull out later, they do not provide a refund. Furthermore, if a new person takes up the vacant spot, he/she is expected to pay a further £10. The £10 from the person who could no longer make is not refunded and is not used to put forward the bill on the night so it can be shared amonst others. The organisers easily make £50-£100 a year by doing this and divide into three. In addition to this, if someone agrees to come and fails to come even in an event where you do not need to pay any deposit for more than twice, they remove you. This is unfair because a person can be ill on the bed and forget to change the RSPV on time and; if they do not charge anything, then many people shows up so how would they know if a person is missing? I am Asian and not many Asians are around where I live, hence it is easy to spot me. I still think they are being too harsh. There are 203 people joined all paying £2 per year per head for nothing. Also, meetup is no longer reminding people that an event I signed up to is approaching, instead the website sends me the most useless e-mails.

This message is total rubbish. First of all the organisers make nothing out of the group!! Any money left is used in January for our birthday party. The reason this person (I know who it is) is angry is because we made her leave as time after time she cancelled at the last minute (sometimes didn't even bother telling us she wasn't coming). Quite often because of her we had spaces at meals because it was too late for us to get someone else to come. The £2 everyone pays is for the cost of the website and certainly not for the
    organisers!
