International Register for Nutrition review: fake courses 66

This review was chosen algorithmically as the most valued customer feedback.

This fake establishment charges for various courses and then disappears. The website is down, no way to access the course which was supposed to be delivered online, no response to emails or phone calls. They claim to be internationally recognised, which is rubbish, pure nonsense, a LIE! They claim their courses are accredited but they're not. They took my money and then disappeared. Total scam! Does anyone know where to complain about them and try and get my money back? Please advice. Any help will be greatly appreciated. The courses aren't cheap but most of all they scammed hundreds of not thousands of people so far. This must stop.

Neil Debenham, still living and conning people in Norwich https://www.facebook.com/NeilDebenhamBusiness

Jamie Playford the liquidator was part of Parker Andrews based in a place called Norwich which liquidated some of Neil's other companies and is linked to the accountants Aston Shaw, they're all in on it - google the link between them all.

I am in the same position. Having completed my level two and level three qualifications, but haven’t received my level three certificate.
Bloody joke honestly. I’ve tried to get my money back, but doesn’t seem like it is possible.
Please let me know if anyone has any success, I’ll continue to try different avenues.

****WARNING - MASSIVE SCAM****

Sadly the two people who were running Fitlearn day to day have admitted to money laundering scams and fraud. The male had 14 previous convictions for similar matters. The new director (a family member) also has a previous conviction for a huge scam. The company's original director (another family member) has gone on to set up further online companies. The same virtual registered address in London is used for all. By searching Companies House you can see a LONG history of dodgy looking companies being registered in the same address by these lot. The so-called 'liquidator' appears dubious to say the least. Amazing how much info you can find from digging articles and Companies House records.

We have a Facebook Group called 'Fitlearn Scam Victims.' https://www.facebook.com/groups/886088298393274/

Absolutely fuming with this whole situation! I had 1 thing left to submit and had to email the support email given to ask a couple of questions - no response. Have now just had an email stating that instead of giving us until the 1st July 2019 to complete anything the date has been brought forward and there's now no access to the student portal or anything. The website however still states the 1st July. Very very disappointed and have no clue on what to do now!

I’ve been doing my L2 L3 with FitLearn, seemed legit at the time when I signed up. Completed my L2 and nearly finished my L3 and now I won’t get either certificates or qualifications. Can not believe this has happened. Anyone else in the same boat? How do we go about getting compensation. Can’t believe how easily fooled I was, it look seemed so legit and I had support, emails were answered quickly and everything seemed so professional. Any help or advice would be appreciated, a years worth of stress and work all gone down the drain along side the 800 quid I paid for both courses. Heartbroken.

He’s definitely got some front, ripped off so many people and driving around Norfolk in Ferrari’s, Bentleys, Range Rovers and Lamborghini’s without a care in the world, while changing his name to try avoid getting caught! The judge won’t like that at all!

Cheers David but already going with another company and their headquarters is about 15 mls from my house and REPs recognised. I remember speaking to a cardiac rehab specialist years ago and recommended them for cpds so going with them. Plus my exams and training are are done other side of the area I live :). Nothing stops the anxiety than having a local place I can chap on the door.

Started with them ages ago. Done my level 2 Gym with them. Had almost done all
My Lvl3 stuff done the last bit last night but no point submitting it and paying a fee if I cannot get correspondence from the support email given. Just bounces back. Up until a month ago my tutor Kate was actually helpful. My extension ran out last month and wondered why my pay as you go fee came back. Must be accounts are frozen as i found out a few days ago what had been going on. Called The awarding body and checked my level 2 is genuine *** hope this gives clarity to people with lvl2-3***. Would have been nice to get my pt before it went up jobie creek. Now going to do my level 3 all over again with another company and will be Scotland based as I am wary about putting what little money I have into an English one. Only reason for this is Brexit and another Scottish referendum are close. Cannot afford to lose money again as nothing will be left as earn a low paying job and have a family to feed and keep a roof over our heads. As I said anyone with lvl2-3 would not worry as sure the certs are genuine. To anyone else I would go with a renowned long standing respected company if they have the money to pull out their backside for it again. Just seems strange to have a company do real and fake courses:/

Hi all, I'm still really confused as to whether Fitlearn is a scam or not? I paid £399 for an Personal Trainer Diploma, and did get pretty good support (albeit a bit slow) at the start, had a few phone calls from Katie to explain things and another lady that I can't remember the name of, but the replies to the support has dried up over the last week. They have emailed today to explain that the business has changed hands and they are looking to restructure/sell to another training provider which is why the support has stopped.
It seems to be a lot of effort to go to to create all of the course material that they have, completely revamp the website and offer genuine support if it is all a scam? I would expect them to have taken my money and then not heard from them again if it was a scam! Will leave it a while and see if I get any responses to anything, and then start a case with my credit card provider to get my money back.

Unfortunately I do not have proof of any sort but know it as 100% fact as I knew the both of them growing up in Great Yarmouth, I believe there mothers are sisters, when younger they were always doing similar scams, they both worked together doing security on cherry tree holiday park in burgh castle maybe 20 years ago, McKay also worked for business telecom and was actively involved in the scam there but lucky for him he left the company before the investigation started so avoided prison unlike his cousin Neil and the 2 other men

I have noticed it has now been taken over by someone new called Neil Debenham. I have been studying with them since September and had no problems.

Also noticed they have filed accounts and so definetly not a scam!

Neil Debenham is Scott Mckay/Cameron/Wolfe’s cousin who is running the business on his behalf, Neil himself is not long out of prison for a similar scam through I company called business telecom where customers including schools churches and small businesses signed up to business telephone deals then Neil and his associates fraudulently changed the paperwork on the contracts tieing them in for far longer then they expected, avoid these conmen!

I'm wondering if they are a scam also. I've completed one course apart from submitting the assessments, and the amount of course material and videos there are it seems like a lot of effort to go to if its not legit! But all of the articles and history on the 2 of them seems to paint a different picture! I paid for my course on a credit card so can hopefully claim the money back that way.

How do we go around getting the money back? Will my bank refund the money? How about the creditors? I am paying by direct debit - do i just cancel it?

I am one of his victims. He was a tenant in my flat. Didn’t pay any rent. His assets were frozen due to an investigation but tenants have many rights and so he lived rent free for three months before leaving. Fortunately, I spotted him in my local gym recently. His website & insta claim he is based at Bannatynes in Norwich but he is not employed by them. I have never met him but I’ve seen his @fitlearn Instagram pictures. He drives a Lamborghini! (I doubt he really owns it). He is a very bad guy and I will be pursuing him. If I get a case against him, please contact me if you would like to be involved in his downfall!

He is not only scamming people online. He became my tenant a couple of years ago. He was volatile, threatening and aggressive and did not pay any rent. I was delighted to spot him in my gym yesterday. I will pursue him. He is a very bad man. His instagram for his latest venture is @fitlearnuk

Hi, is that the gym at the rear of Sainsbury's, William Frost Way, NOrwich? If so, let me know as he has just walked away from a tenancy agreement, having left the house with windows open, door unlocked, had a dog with a 'no pet tenancy', owes rent, owes insurance premiums and owes utility bills. Believe he gave false references to the rental agency. Appears a real 'Con Artist'. Does not respond to any telephone calls, texts or emails.

Hi Hellycake & Mike Pond, we too have had him walk away from a tenancy leaving significant debt, he was aggressive toward a member of our team also. Have been to court to re-gain possession but would very much like to find his whereabouts so we can pursue he debt, any assistance would be greatly appreciated. References were fake, I am amazed he has managed to get away with this so many times.

I’m so sorry you’ve been tricked too. I was in the sauna in Bannatynes (Thorpe) on Sunday (9th June). He came in with a guy and was trying to sell him a mortgage. I wanted to say something but I know how volatile he is. Luckily, we have never met so I was able to eavesdrop. Maybe we should get together to lodge a case against him? Or we could take our evidence to the police? When we tried to regain our rent we were told his assets were frozen. I notified Bannatynes gym but they’ve been slow to act. His Instagram claims his company is based at Bannatynes yet he is not employed by them. I emailed the manager three times and only today, when I tweeted Bannatynes did he respond. Scott may be connected to the manager. So annoying. My number is07728776651 if you would like to discuss further.

Hi, I have recently had the misfortune of having Mr Wolfe as a tenant . He didn't pay any rent/bills and was aggressive towards our neighbours. His Instagram account is @ScottWolfe80. I will be taking him to court. He currently has his assets frozen and under investigation for money laundering. Perhaps we should gather statements from everyone who has been affected by this bully?

Hi!

I did the course in 2014 and had no problem. But it is true now I can't access their webpage. As I never tried to be registered nutritionist, I can't say how valid is my level, but they offered me the possibility of being registered as well, at the end of the course.

if you guys are really interested in becoming actual registered nutritionists, why not just do a degree ? It's easier that way and your knowledge will be really great within the field, no point really doing like a level 1/2 diploma etc when you can't really do nothing with it. Also laws and legislations may also be changed in future in regards to protecting the title of "nutritionist" so only those who have actually done a degree in nutrition will be able to professionally register as a "chartered nutritionist" so there would be no point doing these little courses . Hope that helps in future

Hello. My wife got scammed by Scott Wolfe and the thenutritionschool.uk. The course was her birthday gift from me, something she really wanted. I am so furious about loosing money to this idiot and my wife is so disappointed. He is a real low life scam artist, a petty thief. I did a bit of further research in addition to the above info in this thread. Scott Wolfe seems to be his real name and he owns a pub in Lowestoft, Suffolk. Here are some Facebook links to his pub and gym. Again Katie hope pops and they keep reusing the addresses above. The gym for example is registered to her. According to the Premises License this is his address and that is probably correct, or at least at the time for the application in 2015: Scott Wolfe 250 Drayton High Road, Norwich, Norfolk, NR8 6BH.
https://www.facebook.com/gunclubgym
https://www.facebook.com/houseofwolfe
https://www.facebook.com/scott.cameron.7923
He now calls himself Scott Cameron and according to his last update he is moving abroad.
Let's keep adding to this thread the info we find. I don't know if we have much of a formal case against him and Katie but at least we can gather enough info to hassle and shame them.

I seem to have fallen for this scam too. I bought the online course which promised certification to level 5. Started it and suddenly I am unable to log on. Attempts to find their website have failed and if you phone, you get a recorded message saying "all operators busy then please try later".
Interestingly I find on a website:thehealthsciencesacademy.org a page with a list of blacklisted courses and there sits The Nutrition School with an 'ASA Ruling' link beside it, but clicking on that link gets the response "Non compliant online advertiser not found"
A phone call to the Health Sciences Academy resulted in a promise to call me back, but I wonder.

I fear the cost of trying to recover the course fee will outweigh the course fee itself, but I will be interested in the progress of fellow complainents.

I am so upset that I also got caught in this scam. I registered for "Nutritional Studies" Level 5 Course online this year in March, in The Nutrition School, bought a book recently that never arrived, so when I try to reach the website it disappeared, do not have emails replied, and phone calls stayed in waiting for an agent. What should I do to get my money back? And they shouldn't be working, should be in jail for fraud. I need advice.

I have just found out that SCOTT WOLFE is running a new course online! The Nutrition School! Call them and hassle them. The telephonists are well versed in what to say but if we all call maybe we can save some other people. As this company is still standing we can send a letter to Companies House asking that they not strike them off until we have received our payment in full. Breach of contract. The College for Nutrition still exists so we can still do this. Also send letters to those addresses for the Nutrition School. The woman that answered the phone said they were taking legal action on groupon because they were slandering them - I couldn't believe it when they said their CEO was SCOTT WOLFE!

I did the same with another fake nutrition course provider called The Health Sciences Academy. I purchased the course of Groupon for £59 after being told it was heavily discounted only to find out it is not worth the paper it is written on. I think Groupon should be investigated allowing these scam companies to advertise these fakes courses
