History Channel / A&E Television Networks lifetime membership

I also signed up for Lifetime Membership and abruptly without any communication stopped receiving my magazines as did my husband with his Handyman magazines with the same company from Minnetonka MN. Whenever I've called the phone number I get a rep who speaks limited English trying to get my credit card info which I refuse to give. They say they need it to verify and to charge like $4 so I can have $200 card I supposedly won by calling. I explain I don't give that info but do give my member number. (Called them 2 times- there is something illegal I feel with the firm that answers - I may be wrong).
If class action suit my number is [protected] member since 2004.

History Channel / A&E Television Networks a below average program format

I will get right to it.
You have degraded your existence to nothing more than a redundant exploration of the 60 IQ. I have seen much better history Docs on Youtube, and more of them. American nose pickers is getting old all day., as well as killing an alligator all day long.
I would like to fire your program director, and replace him for one day.
I know your ratings would achieve a marked excellence by no more than100%.

Best Regards, Christopher Ross

I can watch any other cable channel but your volume drifts from wow that's loud to what the [censored] are they whispering about when it looks like the actors are yelling. They make filters try and use them . This is ridiculous I like your lineup I just can't stand to watch because the volume of [censored]ed. It says that's too short of an itch you need to scratch. So. Fix your [censored] volume.

History Channel / A&E Television Networks pornography on history channel

My 13 year old son and myself, his mom, were watching what we thought =
was a military show about Seal Team Six, what we, especially myself did =
not expect was to see pornography within this program. I am livid that =
there is even a need to install such graphic material. We already live =
in a time where sexual violence is portrayed within the news as normal =
because of people like Harvey Weinstein, so why would you demean women =
even more by placing such acts on public television. Anyone can turn and =
see this crap, and unfortunately my 13 year old now has, all because of =
poor leadership within the History Channel. Do you not understand how =
difficult it is to teach my children to honor and respect their =
significant others when this crap is played on cable. I really thought =
the History channel was a safe channel to turn to, well beginning =
tomorrow, I will have it removed. I hope that this email won't
reach deaf ears, and someone will actually do something about it,
because this is not the way women should be portrayed.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Angella Smith

History Channel / A&E Television Networks just watched your new show knife or death,

Just watched your new show knife or death, great show, but I happen to notice during the Finale that Jason Johnson was given three penalties ... I only count 2, am I wrong? The " third " penalty was for the first water bottle being cut ... but you can see it's cut ...? so that being the case he would of won ? Maybe no one else noticed but I did ..maybe I'm wrong just looks like that's the case

History Channel / A&E Television Networks david cassidy: the last session on a&e on june 11, 2018

I am not against airing this biography. What I am upset about and fighting against is showing David Cassidy at his worst moments. The scene where he is brought to the hospital and have to be hold because he is too weak. I saw another scene where he seems kind of lost but it is too short so I can't say which one it is. I have been a fan of David since I was 13 years old. I am 60. David brought love into my heart. Yes he was beyond gorgeous than, beautiful voice, great songs but mostly a genuine man with a great heart and too trusting. Unfortunately, he was not around to see the end of the filming of this biography and could not say what could or not could be aired. I believe very deeply he would not agree showing him in his most vulnerable state. David was a very proud man. I worked in the tv and movie industry and I know you still have time to edit some scenes. His REAL fans wants to see a biography that celebrate his life and his music not showing him when he got real sick. We already know and we are still heartbroken after 6 months. If you still have an ounce of heart and conscious and integrity you will delete these scenes. For David, to show him respect and dignity and his fans who don't want to see him in that state. This is basic human compassion. Thank you for taking my demand into consideration.

History Channel / A&E Television Networks david cassidy documentary june 11, 2018

A&E recently began airing a trailer for the upcoming doc on David Cassidy: The Last Session. He was a music and acting icon for 5 decades, but had to retire due to his health. Now A&E has aired a new trailer that shows him in pain, crying. This is not what anybody who loves Cassidy believed they would get. It is disgusting and deceptive journalism.

We loved him, and he loved his fans. I think its his way of letting us know he wanted us with him, as he new we were. He was only Keith in the Partridge Family, he was David for 40yrs plus to his fans. Im sure if we watch it, our hearts will be full of sadness, understanding, but most of all much love, of the special joy and memories David gave us his fans. xxxxx

I agree with what you say but wonder if us in the UK will actually get to see it. A true fan would want to know the truth and share his pain and not have it glossed over like only happy singing Davud. He had many complex issues in his life and we loved him for all that and not just the joy he bought to our hearts. We just want the truth.

Everyone needs to remember David signed for this documentary to be done, the camera crew followed him as this was his last wish. It will show he was not Keith Partridge, but a real human who succumbs to everyday issues. David himself wanted this done. Shame people don’t want to see the truth. They still think David was Keith. I saw him many times, I know a lot, I am happy that David wanted to share his final thoughts and feelings with the public. David wanted the truth known, as so many times others spoke for him in the past. This is Davids version. He knew want he was doing!

I am in agreement with every sentiment expressed on this board. David Cassidy was a man of versatile talents. He was an actor, singer, songwriter, and star on Broadway. He was more than a teen heartthrob. After his long run with The Partridge Family was over, he continued to reinvent himself. He continued to record music, was nominated for an Emmy for his role as Police Officer Dan Shay in Police Story, and had a successful run in the musical play Blood Brothers, and EFX in Las Vegas. He stole my heart when I was 10 years old. When I found out A & E was going to televise a biography of David Cassidy, titled The Last Session; I was so excited. Finally, David was going to receive the recognition that he was so worthy of. My first impression was that it would be a celebration of his life and his last recording session he was working on, but sadly was unable to complete it. Last week, I saw the Trailer for the Last Session, showing David in physical pain and agony due to his illness. It was heartbreaking to see. I am here to express my deepest concern that David's vulnerability will be exploited. Please let his biography be one of a celebration of his life and accomplishments. I don't believe David would want his fans to see him in such agony and distress. When someone is facing their final moments of life, they don't want it televised. They want to be remembered for their contributions on earth, the impact they had on their loved ones lives, and the sweet memories they brought on earth. My memories of David are of a man with vitality who wanted to touch the lives of all his fans. To me, he was not only my teen heartthrob, but a man with many passions and a love for his children. Please let his be a celebration of his life and accomplishments and not a story of sensationalism exploiting his death.

I think the focus should be on the super star that David was. And as his liver failed him, he pushed forward giving interviews, playing for his fans at concerts and doing recordings in his home. David had a superior talent and hard work ethics. He had so many fans and they stuck with him for all his career and he had fans that loved him and he loved back his fans. His devotion is seen in how he continued to record and do concerts for them. If you have ever had family that has had liver disease you would understand the great effort he was putting forth in his interviews and concerts, how it affects your voice, your memory a little. Give David Cassidy respect for his many works as a producer, singer, actor, performer. He had more fans than any other person on this planet and they are devoted to him and keeping his legacy right. No one can perform better than David Cassidy because of his talent and because he loved his fans.

Yes I agree entirely with the comments above regarding The David Cassidy documentary scheduled for 11th June. Originally the fans were ecstatic that David's outstanding career of almost 50 years was finally being recognised. However, we were shocked and saddened to see that the most recent trailer for this program appears to sensationalize his deteriorating ill health rather than his amazing achievements which has completely devasted David's fans at a time when we are still heartbroken and in total disbelief at his untimely passing.

The David Cassidy documentary "The Last Session" was something everyone of Davids fans had been looking forward to seeing, as we have had no closure as no TV Network in the USA or the UK where I reside has gave him the respect he really truly deserves. Then yesterday after watching your new trailer to promote the programme, was in the worst taste possible, we really don't need to see David crying, distressed, and in pain getting more or less carried into hospital, had he not died the programme would have been about him making an EP dedicated to his father, please re think what you show, a very talented singer, actor that brought so much love, joy and happiness into our lives for 47 years.PLEASE DO NOT EXPLOIT HIM IN DEATH.

I agree with all of the above I hoped it was going to be a documantary celebrating his whole life from his acting, music songwriting and fundraising and charity work, where's the mention of the millions of dollars he raised? the good he did it's the treatment he received by the media and entertainment world that partly made him take solace in drink. We don't want to see the man we love as fans in pain and distress. We want a celebration of the life of this beauiful, talented generous man who was adorned by millions of people worldwide.

I agree Sharron, but I would go on to say it's exploitative. He was clearly ill and it was widely known he had dementia so possibly wasn't aware that his physical/mental decline was going to be shown. I'm not a lawyer but would the contract he made to the Network etc be null and void due to his diminished mental state?. Can someone look at that at A&E and beyond. Surely amongst all of David's friends and/or family there is access to some proper legal representation on his behalf. My heart sank when I saw it and it certainly wasn't the same length of trailer that was initially shown. Come on now. He was a good man who deserves much better. Don't let him down, again.

David Cassidy has fans from all over the world. They are true, dedicated and loyal fans that have in the main watched and followed his career for over 4 decades. This man gave his whole life to his music, acting and performing and most of all he did it for his fans. These fans, having lost David only 6 months ago do not want to see him suffering in pain during his last days of his life. There has been no public memorial to celebrate his life works and we had hoped that this program would be something for us fans to enjoy and remember David by. Unfortunately, from the clip we have seen, this does not appear to be the case and if the focus of your program is David’s deteriorating health and suffering then this is sensationalism and another way to capitalise on negativity and feed gossip. The fans in the main would not want this programme shown if this is the case.

History Channel / A&E Television Networks swamp people

This show is glorifying animal cruelty. It's obvious these guys gain twisted pleasure from pulling a wild animal out of its habitat and torturing it until they shoot it in the head. Why any network would think this show is acceptable to air is beyond me. There are a few programs I used to enjoy watching on your network but every time I try to watch one of these shows I see a commercial where baited gator is getting pulled out of the water and about to be shot. Stop this show if you have any decency or care about anything but money.

History Channel / A&E Television Networks your depiction of cryptographic intelligence

Your program credits Washington crypto analysts as breaking the Japanese naval code
that enabled Adm Nimitz to destroy four Jap carriers at the battle of Midway.
Nay, you have made a gross error!
It was Cdr Joe Rochefort at station Hypo at Pearl Harbor that came up with AF as being Midway.
He is the one who had the message sent out from Midway concerning the water distillation plant that confirmed Midway was the Jap target.

I recently discovered this program which I really enjoy watching. What is upsetting though is that animals are being killed for no reason. The animals are only used to test the the contestants finished weapons. Can you please consider refraining from killing animals just to test the blades on.

Please really think about request. It is totally reasonable!

History Channel / A&E Television Networks dealdash.com

This site advertises on your channel.
The ads are at best, misleading but truth is they are outright fraud. The "winning bid price" is an outright misrepresentation of actual price paid to win.
The site dealdash.com requires user to buy credits ranging in price but around $1.00/credit.. Bids are made with credits..
Therefore every bid actually costs about a dollar but the "advertised" price of item bid on only shows as $.001 (one penny) per bid.
The commercial shows clients clearly stating they won an item for (ie. $6.00) when in fact the item was won at a far greater cost and is misrepresented by as much as 100%.
Misrepresented cost $.001/bid VS actual cost of $1.00/bid

Viewers trust that the information provided in your programs is factual, but the "facts" about the battle of the Alamo are far from factual. Your program stated that the battle for the Alamo lasted 90 minutes.

The Alamo was "actually" under siege for 13 days. This is a big difference in the eyes of a native Texan!

If you are claiming to tell history, please get the facts right.

I am sick of seeing "real men" who are actually millionaires with manicures portrayed as the working man. These shows are clearly scripted. Real working men hate their lives, don't have manicures, and definitely don't own wineries. Please take all of your "reality shows" off the air. The History channel is my main channel, and I watch it for documentaries, etc. Another agreeable option is to make the reality shows real, with actual working class men.

History Channel / A&E Television Networks kingpin — james whitey bulger episode

The writers of this show present their work as fact -- presenting criminals, law enforcement, and newspaper journalists to support their story. They never wrote to or interviewed the subject of their documentary -- James Bulger. Why is it that all the stories of Bulger are based on the word of serial murderers who in turn for their stories, received a get out of jail card? Why is it that stories of Bulger are based on the words of journalists who never met him, never corresponded with him, never interviewed him? One of these journalists actually partnered with serial killers, given get out of jail cards, to write his books on Bulger.
If you're going to present a documentary, then go for the facts -- talk to the source.Be willing to name all the bad guys -- including the DOJ, FBI, and news media! The History Channel is putting out too much nonsense. Fake History!
I've met Bulger. I've interviewed him. I can tell you that his story is worth listening to!

This is third and last time requesting someone do something to remove violent blade slashing human figures made of (appears to be soft rubber) flesh type rubber. History channel is bringing more and more violence to the station and pays no attention to showing it during day time hours for kids and sicko's. Slashing human body replica or slicing head off is simply not for TV ..how in hell will we wver change bad culture. This is no worse than the killer video games. It needs to be off the TV completely.
Next step will be legal ramifications.

History Channel / A&E Television Networks programming

The History Channel used to be one of my favorites due to the great documentaries and historical films I could see there. Not any more. It seems that more often or not when I tune in, I end up seeing some crappy reality TV program. Many of them, such as The Secret of Oak Island, for example, have little or nothing to do with history and are of no interest to me whatsoever. Other times, I see programming that, although very interesting, I find myself questioning just how much of it I can believe. The reason? Well, often when watching programming about something I know a great deal about, I find all sorts of historical error or inaccuracies. A good example was the program I was watching just the other morning. It was called The Ancient Top 10. This one was about ancient civilizations. I switched it off when for the very first civilization the showed the ancient city of Teotihuacan un México and called it an Aztec city. Seriously? Teotihuacan had been abandoned for centuries before the Aztecs arrived. It certainly was NOT an Aztec city. Thing like that really get my goat. I wish you would do more real historical programming and less reality TV an dncheck your contents for validity before airing.

PLEASE get your spokesperson Ms. Applebee (?) to pronounce Sojourner Truth's name correctly! What kind of crazy producer doesn't research correct pronunciation of a historic name when the person is the subject of the production!?!
Sojourn - a passage to a destination
Sojourner - one who completes the passage
Sojourner Truth - her chosen name because she chose to make her life a journey towards exposing truth
This is very significant, so the butchered pronunciation of her name detracts from her voice!

History Channel / A&E Television Networks swamp people

I have just about banned History Channel from my house -- as much as I used to enjoy it -- because the show Swamp People is absolutely the most offensively ignorant and implausible farce on television today. I am from the deep South, I live in the deep South, and my mother worked with alligators from before I was born. She was an educated herpetologist and -- literally -- alligator wrangler. Nobody speaks or acts like the people you've put a spotlight on, and the few who do are dangerously [censor] criminals, by and large. I am personally offended by the misinformation you've spread about a location and life I hold dear. And I find it outrageous that you go so far as to completely invent an apparently brand new form of Native American ideology and call it 'tradition'. Please, reconsider. I liked when your programming included facts and, you know, history.

Swamp People deserves to have a better theme song than what you folks are using for it. There must be 5000 good Cajun music songs that you could use as a theme for Swamp People. I have to assume that you are playing this garbage because you do not want to pay royalties on decent Cajun music. I was born and raised in Louisiana, and I frankly find your choice of music for the theme song to Swamp People to be insulting and degrading to Cajuns.

The Vikings Series on the History Channel is full of violence. Beheading, slicing a body in half, hanging people by their skin, torture, murder and showing blood and guts are things only demented producers would want to show on TV. People are influenced by these kinds of programs. You wonder why people are killing others in this world. Please Take that show off the air!

First, a compliment: I am really looking forward to the new series on "Frontiersmen." It seems it will be great educational programming.

The Vikings became too graphically violent for me. Violence can be powerfully depicted without all the graphic fake blood, slashing and graphic content.

I have another complaint about programming: WHERE IS MOUNTAIN MEN? You are promoting a new season of Forged, which just ended the previous season's reruns. I WANT TO SEE MOUNTAIN MEN! I am assuming there will be a new season because they were in a short cartoon-ish promo I saw this past week. Mountain Men is very educational, filled with information that can be used today. In addition, there are few, if any, bleeped words, unlike Swamp People, Ice Road Truckers, or other HC series. On this topic, I think Forged should be taken off the air. Nobody in this country needs to see more devices that kill, and yet you continue to feature knives that are "made to kill, " or "will certainly kill, " using fake human torsos complete with fake red blood, and slashing pig carcasses. Why don't we see the bladesmiths make new kitchen knives, or garden tools?
I WANT MORE MOUNTAIN MEN SEASONS!
