I do not recommend Erie Insurance to anyone. I was hit by one of their customer and it has been 7 days now nothing has happened. They keep pushing it by saying that they are investigating. Their liability adjuster is so mean and rude. I only have liability insurance, so my insurance said that I need to deal with Erie to get the car fixed. I think Erie know...

I just received a cancellation notice from Erie Insurance. They want $589 from my family. They are billing me "retroactively" for one year. My daughter got her license a year ago but was not driving due to grades. She just started her own policy through Erie Insurance IN August and when they found out the date she received her driver's license, they billed...

Erie Insurance Group Uses Stupid Reasons To Charge More

In using credit scoring for insurace purposes, Erie Insurance used the reason "Number of Accounts Paid As Agreed", as a reason why I was being charged more for my insurance. When I spoke with them and with ChoicePoint I was told that I had to have had dilinquent accounts, foreclosures, or charge-offs showing on my credit report. I obtained a copy of the credit report that they supposedly used. None of this showed on the report. As a matter of fact, all accounts on the report were listed as "Accounts in Good Standing" and "Never Late". After fighting with them several times about this, and contacting the Department of Insurance, they changed their mind, and said that the reason was coming up because I pay my accounts as agreed, but I have too few, or not enough accounts that I have to pay -- that I didn't have the "optimal number of accounts". When I asked them what the "optimal" number is, of course, they "don't know". When I asked ChoicePoint, who supposedly supplies the information to them, they "don't know" as well. They claim that they have to know how many accounts are listed on your report before they can tell you whether or not you have the optimal number. Sounds to me like there really is no optimal number! Maybe they are pulling this reason out of their deep, dark, hole, as an excuse to charge people more. What do you think? Additionally, how does Erie have the nerve to charge people more for insurance, because they pay their other bills as agreed--when Erie Insurence Group, themselves, require that payment be made on time? According to Erie, though...even though the paper that was sent with my policy stated that I was being charged more because of this reason and other unrelated reasons, "I am receiving a discount." Apparently no one at Erie knows the definition of "discount". I would love to know which dictionary has "an increase in price" as the definition of "discount"! If they are pulling this crap on you, call them and give them H_ _ _! Erie Insurance [protected] (Ask for an Executive Assistant, not customer service). ChocePoint [protected] (Ask them to explain their logic). Ohio Department of Insurance [protected] (Ask how much the insurnce company pays them to go along with whatever they want to pull).

I also have been with Erie for approximately 30 years and am being treated like a criminal. I was recently involved in an accident that was not my fault. A truck went through a stop sign and totally demolished my 1997 Volvo wagon. Erie is giving me a hard time in paying and also they want me to sign over my medical records and list all mydoctors. Fortunately, I was not injured badly - whip lash. I have an excellent driving record and maintain my cars properly. I had not car payments, was not looking forward to any. I asked Erie to make me whole financially and I have gotten nothing. It's not like they are not going to get their money, they will go after the other person's insurance and get fully reimbursed. Also, they made me use my deductible and took it out of what they were going to give me for my car. Volvos last almost for a life-time and hold their value very well. There was no way I could have found a car in the time frame that Erie said I should have and this left me with and $800+ car rental bill. They only picked up a little over $300. Their agents are extremely condesending toward the people they insure and have a take it or leave it attitude. I will be looking at other insurance companies. I also have my home owners with them and you get treated just as badly. They are right there for the money, but not any kind of help. Stay away from Erie. Since my accident I have heard several people complain about the service and attitudes.

Erie Insurance Group Erie Insurance sucks!

Erie Insurance Group - www.erieinsurance.com

After Thirty years of being a loyal costumer to Erie Insurance, we were throughly disappointed with their service. We are safe and considerate drivers with only a few small fender benders with a small claim to fix our car after being hit by a truck which was not our fault. But we never had serious crash or totaled a car and when we went for 20 years without a claim and giving them over 50,000 dollars later where were they when we needed them. Once again with accident that was not our fault with no injuries but the car was totaled in the accident. The car was only a 2002 model with only 36000 miles on it along with new tires and yet they apprise it for about 7000 dollars. The car only had a few more payments and then it would have been out but then they had to with hold 20% to use to help pay for the title of the car. Which is understandable but in order for us to find a used car like the one we had cost from 8000 to 10000 dollars. And always we asked was for a an extra 500 to 600 more dollars to help us purchase the car we want. Its not like we are trying to ask for a 12 or 13 thousand dollars here, we just wanted a few extra hundred dollars to help us out and make us a happy and satisfied costumer. Well now we are unhappy costumer that getting only like a 5000 dollar check which can hardly get us anything in this day and age. And now to make matters even worse once they said that our claim was settled they gave us only two days to use a rent a car and find a new car by then. There is no way one can find a new car in that amount of time. After being a loyal costumer and giving so much money they give us no time to find a new car and to use a rent a car and by valuing it out with the blue book as they call it. We were given the shaft even with out money and loyal service. To others out there with Erie Insurance or considering Erie Insurance, "DO NOT GET ERIE INSURANCE!". It may sound nice but they are not. They are unreliable and they they have ignore our complains on how they have served our claim. We hope others will not make the same mistake we did in trusting Erie Insurance.

Erie Insurance and their management do not care about this policy holder.
I worked for Erie Insurance as a contractor, and on the 2nd day, their Senior IT staff member, threatened to hit me, and I documented the entire hostile situation, and management had a meeting with me about it. They chose their company bully, over me, told me that I did not matter. “Its big business”
They refused to apologize and denied simple requests for relocation away from the hostile environment. This was intentional! They wanted to create a hostile environment filled with anxiety. In addition they refused to provide equipment necessary for job completion. An eight billion dollar insurance company, does not have a camera?
Erie Management, from the highest level CEO down, ignored the safety of this worker, and their reputation, and they chose a repeat offender over an honest employee. That’s right, Jon Cox, had done it before. All this so they could save some money, for their new building.
I know they don’t care about me, its greed 1st, and that is not the type of organization that I want to continue to do business with.

My daughter had to return a rental because Erie refused to continue to pay for a rental. We purchased a vehicle over the weekend and this was an inconvenience for me to have to assist with purchasing, due to Erie Insurance not willing to work with our family on the rental situation due to an accident that resulted in a total loss of my daughters vehicle at one of your driver’s negligence and a representative of Erie Insurance not following through with the agreement of having the payoff overnighted for the totaled 2015 Dodge Dart and our bank was not operating on Christmas Eve to receive the payoff. As well as we were informed the 1st week of December that the vehicle was totaled out, but again, Erie Insurance did not follow through with the getting this situation resolved as quickly as possible, by not promptly responding to our corresponding emails and phone calls. Numerous times I, as my daughter's mother, had to make unnecessary phone calls to get any kind of responses or feedback. This has been a very discouraging and unpleasant situation and I hope your company does not treat all victims of accident’s like this. So far, I do not feel that there has not been any urgency from Erie Insurance to get this resolved in a timely manner.

I agree. I have been an Erie Insurance premium policy holder for many years with joint home owners and auto. When I complained about a home owner's adjuster who was really rude and misquoting me and giving me misinformation, all they did was support him. Though I was told that my policy has no time limit for repairs, I was sent a check and sent on my way without everything being fully covered as it should. It seems to me that they have become so large that individual customers do not matter. It was hard to get someone on the phone, and hard getting information when I had a complaint. It's time to find another insurer. I am deeply disappointed in their customer service.

I have a workers comp case with eerie and have since 2008. This is by far the absolute worst company ever! They could careless that they have completely ruined my credit, it is all a big game to them! They go weeks at a time without sending me my court ordered weekly checks! The constantly deny my treatment and meds! And if you have to speak with an adjuster...good luck! I am told from the medical receptionist and office people at my lawyers that they are the most unfriendly and unprofessional people in the industry! They constantly lie and say a check was sent on a certain date, yet 2 weeks later it still isn't received! This company could careless what they do to people. I don't know how this company is still in business! I deal with them because I have no choice! If you have a choice I strongly advise ANY other insurance company! It's absolutely terrible what they do to people, not to mention they obviously think they are above the law since they continue to ignore the court order they were given! Stay away from this company for your insurance needs!

Rear ended by a Erie insured drive and they have completely ignored the accident. Not like they can ignore it totally, there was a state trooper ( not a investigating officer ) behind the driver who hit me and gave me all his information just in case of trouble.

So glad I have USAA insurance they are subrogating for me, they are a waste of money for their insured.

STAY AWAY FROM ERIE INSURED DRIVES AND DON'T SPEND YOUR MONEY WITH THEM !

If you ever get into an accident with the other party having Eerie insurance and the other party at fault, expect the most horrendous experience of your life! My mother got into a big accident and had to get knee surgery, her ribs were bruised, we went to the emergency room, and she had to get physical therapy three times a week. The claims adjuster, KRISTEN, IS, since this is still unresolved after over a year!, lazy, never returns phone calls, claims she loses emails and every time we send her profusive amount of emails with all the medical files, she loses them. We have called her supervisor, but the supervisor never picks up, and everytime we leave a voicemail, Kristen is the one who calls back! We have had enough! Getting a lawyer would be the last option, but I just want to give this claim adjuster hell! she has given us enough hell and I dont know if she has Erie behind her back, but Karma is a ### and hope she gets what she deserves.

I HAD been an Erie customer for 20/30yrs. In 2011 I filed a claim under my homeowners policy thinking they would represent me in a suit. What they did was represent themselves and paid the suit because it was cheaper than investigating it and going to court. Then they cancelled my policy because of the claim. I tried to bring to their attention that had they fought the case we could have won. No response from Erie. OK if they didn't want to do anything because of the cost why I'm I getting cancelled because they don't want to deal with it? Their answer "reduce risk". My answer "Everything is great when you pay them, not so great when they pay."

I am an ex Erie Insurance agent. I was an Erie Agent in good standing for almost 3 years. After working for Erie, I realized there were serious issues with their business practices. I currently have a suit filed against Erie Insurance in the North Carolina Superior Court In Chatham County under case #11CVS103. My suit against Erie is for Fraud and Deceptive Trade Practices, among other issues. Erie Insurance has attempted to slow down this case and their attorney, Susan Hargrove of Smith Anderson, attempted to get the case dismissed in November of last year. The Superior Court Judge chose to throw out all four of Erie's motions to dismiss my case. It is now headed for trial. Mr. Ronnie Chamberlain and Mr. Richard Suddarth are also defendants in this matter. Ronnie Chamberlain was the Erie Insurance branch manager in Raleigh and Richard Suddarth was the Raleigh branch district sales manager. If you are considering filing litigation against Erie Insurance, you should contact my attorney, Mr. Dickson Phillips of Bradshaw Hinson at [protected]. He is an excellent attorney and has done a solid job handling my case. thomasstumpf@hotmail.com

I have my auto insurance through Erie Insurance and the agent referred me to YourLifeSolution.com as a better instant source of life insurance information instead of Erie. Erie insurance couldn't touch the rates I got an ING policy through YourLifeSolution.com

I applied for an Erie Life Policy in August 2007 in Pennsylvania and still have not received an answer as of April 3, 2008. Our local agents have been useless in getting us answers. They just keep saying, "Oh, it's coming soon." They never call me with updates. I always have to call them. When the underwriters are missing information, they don't even bother to tell us, they just sit on the application. They did the lab tests on Labor Day weekend, and then in February called to ask me the same medical questions I answered in August. They did follow-up lab tests a month ago, and I still haven't heard anything. This is absolutely ridiculous. I plan to apply for insurance with a different company as soon as I get a chance.
