The "I'm Italy Tour" provided by Donna Franca Tours of 10/6/06.
Pre Tour Arrangement to Sorrento were horrible. Arrangements at the Rome hotel to hold our bags for the few pre tour days was never arranged. That meant I and 16 others had to carry all of our own bags to the pre tour buses. Now thats not to bad except we had two bus transfer points where I had to carry my bags to the buses. When I complained to the tour leader he said "Well I'm not the porter". Do you realize how many and heavy these bags were?
Donna Franca did not provide a direct bus for the 16 people who purchased her pre tour to Sorrento. She outsourced to a small uncooperative local tour operator that thought of us as part of their Sorrento tour with 55 people.
Donna Franca was to be an upscale tour limited to 16 vacationers it was not. DO NOT GO ON DONNA FRANCA TOURS to Italy!
Sorry, I meant to say that the tour guide knows nothing about Venice!
I don't think that it is a coincidence that the web is full of comments regarding the nastiness, dishonesty and financial cheating of Donna Franca tours. She lies, schemes, does not return or cover expenses that should be reimbursed/covered by her. The first time that I went into her office she liked me so much that she said I should come and work for her. One of her staff then quickly pulled me aside and told me that everyone in the office hates her - she yells at everyone for no reason whatsoever. My trip to Sorrento was good, but the return took 8 hours to get back to Rome, and her tour guide who was supposed to meet me was no where in sight. I paid extra for double sized rooms and never got them. Her tour guide knows nothing about Florence, including the first ghetto ever developed. I agree with everyone else - DON NOT USE DONNA FRANCA TOURS!
I worked for Donna Franca, she is an old retirded woman. She stole my commissions did not give me my salaries and my money. All the people that worked and works for her hates her. She treats everybody like Roman prisoners. She treats her son like he is a piece of nothing and yells and swears at him in front of everybody. She lies to her clients, and gives terrible service. DO NOT USE DONNA FRANCA TOURS
Once we arrived in Italy, we had a wonderful time and enjoyed our stay very much. However Donna Franca is the most unprofessional, rude and just plain cranky person I have ever dealt with in business. I resented being screamed at several times by her. My family and friends who booked with her spent thousands of dollars with this agency and all agreed that the experience was horrible. Scrutinize your invoices very carefully if you are considering booking with this company. We found several errors and they were always in her favor. I can't count the number of calls I had to make for corrections before I signed on the bottom line. If you do decide to work with this agency, try to deal with Leo (I was told he is her son). However, apparently disregard for good customer service is not a family trait.
My husband and I just returned from a Donna Franca Tours vacation. All services were impeccable
hotels were centrally located meals were well planned and reflected local regional specialties. Would
travel with them again.
Having worked for this woman I can tell you she is a broken old woman full of hate. Her employees hate her, and she has the mouth of an old Italian ex-prostitute. This woman is a waste of human life... BEWARE.
Horrible tour company. She presents it as upscale but its not. Had to walk 40 minutes to St marks Square from our centrally located hotel. Our local restaurant on the way to Sienna was the local rest stop on the autostrada. DO NO USE DONNA FRANCA TOURS!
