I also received the same letter as your guys from Mr. Pozzi on June 1st. He requested me to cash a cashier check and then send the cash via Western Union to someone in NJ. Since I do not know the source of fund therefore I quit.
Please, be very careful about this because maybe the check is fake.
OMG! I received the same exact e-mail, from " Mr Pozzi". Now i am scared because i sent him my-resume with basic info. I better go ahead and get a credit report right away. How could i have bee so naive, i should have known that this sounded too good to be true.

I am from South-Africa and looking for an investor abroad and enter the angels net work. Sorry to say the least that I do not get any answer from anyone at angels re my e-mails. I have received the exact email from "MARK TERRY" @live.com offering the exact same job. I guess I wont be responding to this. THank you for your posts and Im glad my family was less trusting than I. I tried to send to the email address to report this guy that was entered by another poster but apparently is an invalid email because I got an error when I tried to send.
Im guessing from the complaints, this is a true scam. Very disappointing.

Just like everyone else i responded to a "Personal Assistant" add on Craigslist and received the same email everyone else on here has. Except the name was different. He went by James Kelvin. I told my step dad about it and he said sounds like a scam. So I started to research it and sure enough I came across all these complaints and people getting the same thing I got. I don't think I've gotten a check yet but if I do I sure as hell won't be depositing it into my account. The photo I attached is of the last email he sent me.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

I received the same type of e-mail and red flags went up immediately as I took notice of the numerous misspellings. This guy could not even keep his name straight...began with it being Bryan Miller and ended with signing off as Mr. Bryan.

I replied to a job listing on Craig's list and included my resume, for an Admin Personal Assistant to and email address [protected]@hotmail.com. A couple of days later I recieved what I thought was a very odd email from someone named Marc Hanson - he signed off on the email as Dr. Marc. I was suspicious immediately, and after discussing it with several friends, decided to do a little research. That is where I came across all the scam reports for the Angel Investment Network, thankfully.
It scares me to think that I sent my resume to this individual listing my address, phone, job history and references. I don't really know how to respond, or whether to just delete the email and forget it, chaulk it up to experience and be thankful I didn't get in deeper.

I applied for a personal assistant job on Kijiji canada to a woman named Shannon Decker (lawyer) she wanted me to work for her as her assistant. After thinking this was e legit job we e-mailed each other with different information and out of nowhere i decided to google her, and it came up as a scam... She now has all my personal and private information, what do i do? should i call the cops? i have no idea what to do I'm just glad i found out before anything illegal went down
I received an email telling me i was hired and would be sent a fed ex with monies and instructions once i acknowledged his email.
i ignored it and two days later received a fed ex with a cashiers check for $5000 telling me what to do with it all.
I ignored it and never did anything and didnt respond.
I called the local police and asked if I needed to report the scam. They said it would do no good because there are millions of internet scams and they dont have the manpower to track it all. she said to just ignore it and he would move on to the next person. she was right.

This guy is now going by the name of Michael Richardson. The email letter I received relative to a position of Personal/Administrative Assistant came through on Indeed.com. I am not even going to respond back. After doing a little research on the company (since it was weird that he would hire me sight un-seen) I saw the other emails and read them when Angel Network Scams came up on Google. The listing in Phoenix was on February 3rd and he emailed me back on February 8th. Based on what I have read here on this board – I will not even justify his email with a response. Thanks to all for the feedback on what could have been a very difficult situation. I found a man named Brian Peterson on craigslist who was advertising for a personal assistant. He claimed to be from the Angel Investment Network and wanted me to start immediately. He said he was out of the country and would be sending me some checks to take care of while he was still gone. This is a total scam! I reported it to the FBI's internet fraud division, and I encourage all of you who have been scammed to do the same. The web address is www.ic3.gov. It only takes a few mintes and could save other people a load of money and heartache. Good luck!

This scam's newest aliases is Jeff Wilson. Here is the email up to the point of receiving monatary funds.

I contacted the orphanage home, and I was given the list of the items to be bought, the items are much and will cost a lot to get them shipped, so we have reached an accord. They will be getting the items themselves. All you need do is just to receive the check, have it cashed at your bank, $550 meant for your weekly salary and $50 extra. I have received emails almost following verbatim to the others posted. I was told to order blank checks and send them to clients. I suspicious about starting immediately with no interview or anything else. I was suspicious about ordering and mailing the checks. When I research the name I was told to put on the check (which I was told was his wife) I realized it was not true. And then I researched Angel Investment Network which brought me to this site. I immediately emailed him and told him I was knew it was a scam and I was out. I think it is a well ran scam so please do not fall for it.

I received an e-mail from a Thomas Hardy, after replying to a job add on Craigslist. I did some research as it seemed very sketchy to me. Here are the two e-mails I received, be very careful not to fall into this trap. I know I was hopeful with the economy as it is now, but they could really hurt you financially with this scam. I e-mailed back and said I was worried about the validity of the position as it seemed sketchy and I have not heard back from "Thom". BE AWARE!

FRAUD
I replied to a job ad on craiglist and received the same exact e-mails everyone else here has received. Unfortunately i did not research it sooner, because it only took 5 minutes for me to realize it was a big scam. The next day i reveived 3 money orders for $1000 each. I contacted my local FBI and they told me how it works:
Basically this person tells you they're going to send you $$ to donate toys to an orphanage or whatever. Once you receive the money, they then tell you there is a child in need of an operation in Malaysia. So you are asked to deposit THOUSANDS of dollars in money orders into your bank account, and with that money immediately buy a western union money transfer and send the remaining money (after taking your fee) to the requested person.
The scam is that the money orders are BAD. So you deposit them in your account, make all the purchases they ask you to make, and then a few days later the money orders bounce because they were no good (counterfiet or fraudulent or whatever!) So now you owe the bank all that money.
I was almost taken for $3000, thank GOD i started investigating... The FBI says its very common and they scam you so quickly and disappear its impossible to catch these people. I also firmly believe they are based outside of the US.
EVERYONE JUST BE REALLY CAREFUL.

Get an e-mail response, he wants you to start work immediately, but he's out of the country. Yea, I didn't go any further when he hadn't even met me in person, or done a phone interview or anything.

My mother use to always tell me, when something seems too good to be true, IT USUALLY IS! I was almost fell victim as well. I applied for a personal/administrative assistant on Indeed.com. I should have known that the job was bogus because this Micheal Richardson fellow had never seem me, LET ALONE PAY A COMPLETE STRANGER $4000 A MONTH! Unfortunately, I played email tag with this loser a few times before my gut told me to research a little further. He supposedly is sending me some checks to buy gifts to donate to an orphanage! HOW LOW IS THAT PEOPLE! At any rate, thank my lucky stars that I did not fall victim. I know next time to listen to my gut, follow my heart and RUN! I hope this doesn't happen to anyone who reads this because it ALMOST happened to me!

This e-mail was from a Chris Rogers who said he was involved in the Angel Investment Network in Canada and was currently away on business in Australia. He wanted my contact information to send me a money order and then run errands to an orphanage. Both e-mails I received from her were verbatim to the other e-mails everyone else on here received. I responded back to him and told him thank you for the interest, but I had to decline. From here on out, I will not respond back to this person. It is obviously some type of scam which is sad in this economy when so many people are desperately searching for jobs. Beware to all!

I replied to a "Craigslist ad for a Personal/Administrative Assistant. Reading it you would have thought the dream job had just dropped from the heavens. Momentarily I got excited, then decided to do a little research. I Googled Angel Investment Network and SCAM came up on about 5 different sites. I was going to respond back and ask for references on this company just to see what he says, and ask to speak with the last PA. Below is the email on craigslist I responded to.

I'm noticing the last comments were in 2010. Just wanted to confirm that this Craigslist post is still alive to this day. I am from San Diego, CA and I applied to multiple jobs. This one responded back and sounded great at first. However, they kept pushing me to start immediately and for my personal information and ignored my requests to meet in person prior to agreeing to work together. Who hires someone and offers to pay them 600 dollars immediately before even meeting them? I asked for confirmation of his identity through LinkedIn, a website, Facebook, Twitter.. anything at all, and it was constantly ignored. He simply would respond "I need your address to send money to and your tasked will start immediately" every time.
I'm glad I found this post. It 2014 now, so that means the scam has been going on for at least 4 years.

From what I've read in similar scams, when you deposit the check, it will bounce and you will owe that amount in your bank account. You will not receive the money at any point, you wont be able to scam the scammer.
One guy I ready, the tracking for his fake check was actually rerouted to law enforcement headquarters. They are cracking down on these scams, don't be fooled!

People beware of people like this! I came across an ad that read: Personal Assistant needed. I responded to the ad and was automatically "hired". The pay ranged from $300-$500 a week and they don't use the same name when scamming people but they are the same thing they tell you they will use the first week to test you then you get your first task they tell you that you will receive a cashiers check by mail and they need you to deduct your week pay then the remaining balance to either buy things for an orphanage or send the money through western union to the orphanage and it will usually be an orphanage over seas one of them was in Malaysia. I kept e-mailing back to get more information but when I asked them for a phone number and their home address for security purposes I never heard back. I wish I could give you more info on this but this was as far as I got. I knew from the first response to my email it was a scam how can you give some one a job and say your are the best person for it when you never submitted a resume or any information about yourself. I hope this will help people and keep them alert of scams!

I also recieved this email today. however he is using the name carey woods now and is suppose to be in Ireland on business. I do have a question to others though. To those who received money orders.. where they legite? did you try to cash them or have them look at by the police, banks, etc? are they foreign? I mean what was the cause for not being able to cash them? did you ever get any assignements from him? I instantly knew this had to be a scam when i received his return email.

Please note that you are being hired only on a personal level. All correspondences would be made and promptly reported to me personally. Working with me is basically about instructions and following them, my only fear is that I may come at you impromptu sometimes, so I need someone who can be able to meet up with my irregular timings.

Hi all, I live in scotland and moved into a new house last may with a letting agency, the supposed owners name was TONY don't know his surname but he has taken everyone who was with him, Deposits of £10, 000 and has not been paying any of the landlords rent and now he is said to be in Thailand but I was on gumtree looking for a new deposit and a man had put an ad on saying he too was looking for somewhere else to stay and a Tony Adams had contacted him saying he had properties, Just to make everyone aware I am now being left homeless with 3 young kids and no returned deposit to get a new place.

In my email, Tony said, "we already have branches in 5 different states in united state and 2 in canada"...but when you search for the US or Canadian branches, you get no results for any locations other than the Australian one.
I searched the whole sue-e site, and his name didn't appear anywhere on it...you'd think that the Marketing Manager would be listed somewhere on it.

I'm seriously worried about divulging so much personal info- I sent my resume to him, for heaven's sake. Can he get other info, like my Social Security number, or bank accounts, from the information I've given him? It's tax season...knowing my address, someone could steal my W-2's out of my mailbox, and find out my S.S. #...maybe I'm being paranoid...but my aunt was a victim of online identity theft, they never caught the person(s) who did it, she had to go to court, and the judge ruled that she was obligated to pay back the $50, 000 that was stolen from her. She's appealing the decision currently, but, still, DAMN. What should I do to protect myself?

I think you're the right person for this post, Please note that this position is not office based for now because of my frequent travels and tight schedules. It's a part-time, work from home basis and the flexibility means that there will be busier weeks than others. So it's a little difficult judging the exact number of hours you'll be doing per week. If you can manage your time properly, this job may even give you some extra while you do something else on the side. As I have said, I'd want us to get a head start with things as soon as possible. I do have a pile up of work and a number of unattended chores which you can immediately assist me with. I hope we can meet up with the workload eventually. Permit me to use the coming week to test your efficiency and diligence towards all this, also to work out your time schedule and fit it to mine. I really need to find the perfect person for this job and i am confident you can take up the challenges. On the long run we should have a relatively sound working relationship between us.
