After being burned by their laser on 4/13/07, I have contacted their corporate office dozens of times with no response . The procedure was so painful, I had to stop stop the treatment. It left burns on my legs.

I had paid over $2,700 for a service package, but will no longer return to their clinic. It was the most painful, unprofessional experience I've gone through. I have demanded a refund on services not rendered but cannot get anyone to address my complaint. The customer service department has transferred my case to the "appropriate department," but I am still waiting to hear from them. I have called almost every day since 4/13/07 (today is 5/16/07), and am always transferred to an unidentified voicemail box. I have left a message every time.

Beware people!

Update on my original post on 5/16/07 - With no success after letters to my state's AG, the BBB, and ALC corporate headquarters, I was contacted by ALC on 10/15/08, after they saw my posting. Here is an excerpt from their email to me, "I was notified by our marketing department for American Laser Centers about your blog, and am currently a member of the Customer Service Team. As a result, of course I am familiar with the refunding policy changes and am responsible for screening eligible clients for refund. I notice in your case you had started treatments, and I am guessing that is why you were denied refund. It used to be only clients that had not received any treatments could be refunded. However, ALC has reviewed their policies under new ownership and are refunding treated clients the unused portions of their contracts if they still wish to cancel services. Since yours was the first posting that I saw online I thought I would contact you first in the hopes that you would want to work with me to get your matter resolved. "

On 10/21/08, the representative asked me for my Care Credit information so they could process a partial refund.

On 1/6/09, I asked for a status of my refund. On 1/23/09, their response was, "I apologize but this still has not been completed." Also, "Accounting has given us 12-16 weeks as timeframes but I know that those are only estimates and that we truly do apologize for this delay."

I checked in again on 6/10/09 - EIGHT months after they said they were issuing a refund. Their response was a request for photos of the injuries I suffered! I'm back to square one.

I'm not holding my breath; it's obvious they never started the refund process at all. The only recourse I have is to keep you all updated on this blog.

I purchased a laser removal package for my face and stomach. I paid over $2000 for the services. At first everything seemed to be okay. I went for my treatments when scheduled for about a year. I didn't really notice a difference in the hair growth because I still had to shave between treatments. When this center received a "new" machine, I was treated with that one. This machine left burn marks on my stomach and neck. I had white patches on my stomach from the burns and I am African-American. I contacted ALC and they took pictures and offered me free microdermabrasion treatments to help get the color back. After my burned areas returned to normal color, I was suppose to restart my laser treatments. The computer was down for scheduling so I was supposed to be contacted about making my next appointment. I never was. Every time I called the office, the voicemail picked up. I left messages and never received a call back. To this day I still have not continued my treatment.

Misrepresentation started from the minute I walked in. I "won" a 300 dollar contest and decided to check it out. I'm blonde hair and pale skin. Good ol' irish. I do have some dark hairs as well. I was told specifically that I would be a good candidate because my skin is pale. I asked direct and specific questions. How long would it take before I saw results. I was told 2-4 treatments. I asked how permanent is this laser hair removal. She said very permanent. I wouldn't have to worry about hair regrowth unless I had a hormone change. I asked for an example of a hormone change and she stated something women go through such as menopause.
Other questions in that session were if the laser did not work on me. I'm very pessimistic and make sure I cover all angles, at least so I thought. She said if I went to the treatments and noticed there was no change then I would get a full refund. Of course, my next statement is because I know how it was worded. What happens if I get minor change and not the hair loss in the areas I am paying for, for it to be removed. She stated directly to me there would be a full refund. I made specific sure to ask if I didn't receive full hair loss I would receive my money back.

The treatments were of course a little painful and I made sure they wasted no time maxing the machine out as much as possible on my skin to hopefully see results. I used their "cream" the first time but my skin broke out and I told them of this. I told them I wouldn't use it again and they let it drop. They didn't tell me why my skin broke out or why I needed the cream. I never really got burned and my skin never broke out again.

The treatments never showed any improvements and my hair has grown back. I was letting it grow to prove a point to the clinic but I see that is futile as compared to other people. The last few treatments they did double overpasses and I believe the final treatment I did they went over it I believe 3 times. I was in session for the chest and back about 6+ hours.

After the next month seeing my hair grow back and coming up to my next treatment I cancelled the treatment and said enough is a enough and requested my money back. I complained directly to the office manager and found her sympathetic. She stated she would write a formal complaint and send it to me and the corporate at the same time. I never received the complain and followed up for about 2 weeks. I took the matter into my own hands and called corporate to issue a complaint and they stated directly they hadn't received a complain on my case yet and would write one up. Calling the corporate office and even issueing that complaint took about 2 solid week of calling and harassing the voicemail.

The next two weeks went by and the office manager called and stated corporate had given almost an identical complaint as hers and she specifically stated that because I had showed a 10% hair loss I was not going to be issued a refund and that I must continue my treatment before they would consider a refund.

Hopefully that spells out the story and most of the details. This is the worst company I've ever dealt with in regards to treating customers.

I signed up for Vela, Zerona, and E-matrix treatments for a total of $4400.00 in January of 2013. I wanted to get rid of wrinkles under my eyes, shrink my arms and legs and tighten them afterwards. I had asked the clinic manager before I signed the contract - "What happens if this doesn't work, or I am unhappy with the results?, Are you going to leave me high and dry?"" She assured me that ALS would NEVER leave a customer unhappy they would keep going until I was happy..

First off, the clinic manager, Katie Kennedy was wonderful. I had even wrote a letter to their regional headquarters in Edina, MN that if it was not for Katie and her crew, I would have gone elsewhere as there were so many competitors everywhere around the Woodbury location. Her customer was next to none. I finished the treatments to shrink my arms and legs - I was not happy - they looked worse than when I started. We tried a few more treatments - still NOTHING! Katie suggested that I give my body a break, come back in a few months and we would start over as I was SO unhappy. I called back about four months later as instructed, and was shocked when I wass told that they had let Katie go. The new manager "Rebecca" told me that they let her go because (I quote) "she was giving the farm away". She was extremely rude, and I told Rebecca, I was unhappy with the results, was promised more treatments, and I expected them to honor their verbal guarantee. First off, what kind of management talks about their employees to a total stranger that way? Rebecca told me she would have to go back to the books, and figure things out. She said she would all me back the next day - it never happened. I called her office two more times with the same results - none. I then called the regional headquarters and lodged a complaint with them, I was told that I would be called back in three business days (a promise from the customer service rep) and again, no one ever called me back.

I was made promises that they would not keep. Spending $4400.00 to see no results (and in the case of my arms and legs), I have to cover them when I go out in public, as they are covered with such "severe hail damage" that I am too embarrassed to go outside unless I am covered up. I made an appointment with a competitor about a month ago. I want to start over with the E-Matrix (for the winkles under my eyes).and the surgeon was stunned- he said he could not see where anything had been done. His price is half of what they charge - with a written guarantee! I am convinced ALS's Estheticians are not properly trained, as a matter of fact, I had two new employees in the room with me being trained (at different times) by new employees! That is how fast they go through people . They do not bother to tell you about the extreme pain the E-Matrix (laser treatments for your face are) - they do not have qualified staff on hand to be able to administer sedatives or pain medication. DO NOT GO TO AMERICAN LASER SKINCARE- RUN! Do not get be a fool like me - I am twice as bad as before I went in to get my problem "fixed"

Please check out other businesses that offer the service you are looking for. Do not lock yourself into their rip-off packages and be rushed through every treatment. I had laser hair removal done and everytime I went in there was a different girl doing it and I felt like I was rushed through and am so so sorry I wasted my money on them. I have been to other places and everyone I have talked to has met someone with the same wasted experience.

I would recommend they open up a drive through window.

Why I joined the American Laser: Reduce the size of my pores, a few age spots, lines and wrinkles on my face. It is a year later & guess what. I have the same large pores, age spots and lines & wrinkles.
What I payed for was a waste of my time...that's it. If I wanted to waste time I would and I would'nt have to pay. I am soooo upset!
Please tell me how a business can be in business and stay in business. Twice I complained and twice I was told someone would call me back, and guess what...no call back. This was very expensive. I changed my mind in the beginning when I signed up and she told me sorry you signed the contract. So I signed the contract and was robbed.
I want to let everyone to know not to sign up with this company.
Thanks for listening to me.

American Laser Centres are the most deceptive and unethical business I have ever encountered. The company's only goal is to sell packages of laser hair removal treatments, botox, and any other skin treatments they can. I tried to cancel packages the day after I visited their store in Amarillo. I was told they don't give refunds even when you haven't even started treatments. Have called, written complaints, letters and contacted corporate office. No luck! Stay far away from this company - far far away. Go to www.complaintsboard.com to see the thousands of negative complaints about ALC!

I was told that the VelaShape treatment was not painful. They even had ads on their walls stating that it was not painful. They guaranteed me that it would smooth my body from bad liposuction. They put me through what was absolutely excruciatingly painful treatments with absolutely no results. I spent over $4, 000. I have the documentation to prove the amount I paid. They did not seem surprised that I got no results even though they promised me I would. They were supposed to take before and after photos as well as photos during the process but they did not take these photos. They had before photos, which they could not find and an after photo. I did not get copies of anything, except my charges.

Their laser hair removal simply does not work. Their advertisements and personnel bluntly lies to you in order to get you to sign up for other procedures which just as well do not lead to any positive results. The more people they "recruit", the more they get in commissions.

Rude, unhelpful, unprofessional environment.

Other fraudulent activity and falsification are going to be investigated soon.

No matter what it takes or how long it takes, the justice will be brought to these scammers.

The company runs itself on a pyramid scheme and treats its customers with disrespect. Each employee from the nurse up receives a bonus when the customer purchases. It is very much like a used car lot and just like a used car lot the buyer should be wary. The manager and main nurse (at least in this Central Valley office) see no issue with changing client's appointments, and lying to them about it, to only give time for one treatment area when more were scheduled. This is all done to fit in a new client so that treatment can proceed before the new client changes their mind and asks for a refund. Not that you would ever be allowed a refund by this corporation anyway. You may not be able to get rescheduled for months even when the manager or nurse made this schedule change. The manager additionally continually tells other staff to not worry about giving good treatments, as the client (you) will be coming in several times and it won't matter if you are "cheated" on your treatment. The manager and other staff talk about the clients behind their backs in a disrespectful, racist (especially if the client is Middle Eastern/Indian), and rude manner. If you buy from the company, you are locked into a two year contract and once that contract is signed the staff do not feel the need to give exceptional service until the next time you think about buying. If you are getting good treatments, it is more likely that those treatments will be successful. Unfortunately, the manager and staff at many of these clinics do not truly have your greatest intersts at heart. The manager at this clinic will tell you that her clinic is different from the others that are complained of on this site it is not! BUYER BEWARE!

I won a $300.00 discount. I went in for a free consultation. Everything was bad. The decor looked like they were about to evacuate. Getting an idea of cost was the equivalent to buying a used car. The absolute worst part was the "demo". The laser literally burned my face in 3 places. I hope it doesn't scar. All of this for a ridiculously over-priced package. "Buy and save, " they said. Save your face and save your money. Stay away. There are quite a few reputable spas in this area with better equipment, service, surroundings and prices.

I signed up for an unlimited laser hair removal package a year and a half ago, 2 out of the 4 sessions I have gone to were rescheduled multiple times. I began requesting a refund almost a year ago. I've heard an unlimited number of excuses as to why they can't keep an appointment. After almost a dozen appointments have been canceled on me at the last minute, I'm going to be working with a 4th regional manager (assuming they ever call me back). It's an extremely unprofessional and unacceptable level of customer service.

I was also scammed by this horrible company. I won a supposed package and went in to see what it was. They at first were so nice but fast talking and made everything seem fine. I agreed to a package and when I raised concerns or questions after I signed than this company they became completely different. They did not want to hear it and denied any assistance to my needs. I want a refund because I do not feel comfortable with the services and it has been denied to me. I asked for management and they would not give me that information because they say its private. Since when can you not talk to a manager of a company that you have paid money to?

I feel uncomfortable because the techs are barley trained and I do not want to risk anything for my health. they tell you that there are doctors in the office and they and then you find out that they are supposedly on call. Everything changed and it just was not worth all of the worry so I felt I have every right to not continue if I feel uncomfortable. I offered to negotiate and it was not open for discussion. I called the corporate office 4 times and everytime I was sent to un unidentified voicemail that is supposedly in the legal department and I have yet to get a call back. I am getting nowhere so I have contacted the bbb and I am waiting on that. I hope to get this resolved soon. How can a company with the name American in the title treat people like crap? I supposedly won a package at a bridal show and never did see set prices at all and I think they just price it whatever they want and go from there. I do not recommend this company to anyone! I would never wish this much stress on anyone! Do yourself a favor and stay away from them.

I went to this office for hair removal which I was uncomfortable about as have some white which they said wouldn't work on.Was told I would have to do a different treatment but could not cancel after just 1 treatment. Was talked into the Zerona to loose inches from stomach area which added another $1200. to what I already had a loan for. After my first treatment the office manager told me I had to finance another $100. thru another loan.I was to follow certain rules ie.excercise 30 min each day, drink 64 ozs. water daily, limit to 1 cup of coffee, eat raw foods & nuts, small 6 meals per day, brush my body from the feet upwards, & wear a constricting undergarment at nite. All of which I followed as I was determined to have this work & was paying a large financed bill to see results.I had each treatment every other day for 9 treatments.I lost maybe an inch which was told that is unheard of.Everyone losses 5-9 so the office will work something out for me.No one has contacted me, since my last treatment 3 weeks ago.I e-mailed the manager who told me to call her! I want something in writing as to compensation which I doubt this company cares to do.They just sucker people in & finance them a debt without results. They need shut down & I will contact the Better Business Bureau

Dear everyone,
Anyone thinking of getting laser hair removal should not go to american laser center. all they care about is money ! I purchased a full body hair removal package for 4, 880 and i regret it to this day. Once i signed the paper and TRIED to make an appointment for my treatments they were completely booked and requested that i go to another clinic 32 miles away. What was the point in me going to their clinic in the first place? but supposedly my full body was such a great deal. my girlfriend had bought the same package for 6500. Their prices are never the same ! It is unfair to the public.
But one advise i need to give everyone is that if you do want to get a great discount always BUY at the end of the month. That is when these stupid little highschool "managers" need to make their quota. These managers will only keep their jobs for 3-6 months because they cannot make their quota. EVENTUALLY AMERICAN LASER CENTER gets rid of their managers... and you know what, these uneducated managers deserve it cause they swindle customers every day. I've been getting my treatments for a year and a half...and there is always a new manager offering me a great deal (always at the end of the month!) Unfortunately...i'm stuck with this company until my treatments are completely done. NEVER AGAIN! i will never sign up for anything new. AMERICAN LASER CENTER makes me sick to my stomach

I have had similar experiences with ALC that are reported on this site. I 'won' a $300 discount. I was pressured to sign up the day I went in for a consultation. When I went home and discussed the price with my husband, we decided it was not something we could afford, so I called to cancel before I received any treatments and was told it was too late, I had already signed a contract and there was no refunds!

My most recent problems with this company started Jan. '08. I called 4 times in the beginning of Jan. to schedule an appointment, they never answer the phone it always goes directly to voice mail. I left 4 messages, on the 4th message I indicated I was upset and wanted someone to call me back. They finally called me back and we scheduled an appointment for Feb. 8th. On Feb. 7th at 5:26pm. they called me to cancel the appointment due to 'modifications' they were having. They said they would call back to reschedule. They never did. I called on Feb. 9th and 11th and left messages. They called me back on Feb. 12th and rescheduled me for Feb. 17th at their north location which was a location I had never been to. They gave me vague directions, but no address. I thought the address would be on their website, but it was not. So I called back to get the address of the north location, and left a message. They called me back and got my voice mail and said 'Sorry we missed you please try us again'. Why they could not leave the address on my voice mail is beyond me. So I called again, left another message. They called me back gave me the address. On Feb. 17th I went to the north location and waited 20 minutes in the lobby, finally the girl said she did not have me scheduled at that office. She said perhaps I was scheduled at another office. So I left, called the office that had made my appointment and they said yes, I was scheduled at their office not the north location! So now it is Feb. 19th and still no appointment. Whenever you call their offices, they NEVER answer the phone, their voice mail says this is due to a high volume of calls. I've called at every hour of the day, and I never get through, how can they have such high volume of calls at every hour of the day? How come it takes so much effort on my end and so many phone calls just to schedule an appointment! I feel they are avoiding me. I of course have already prepaid! They got my money, why bother helping me now?!

I have done hair removing treatment by laser on my shoulders, chest and neck at the American Laser Center in different locations (such as in Florida-West Palm Beach, Miami-Aventura and South Carolina) for more than 2.5 but the result now is terrible my hair became more and tougher. I am very disappointed from them, they destroyed my body. It is bull of ### that the said laser help and the treatment will last about 6 month. I have done it 2.5 and now I don't know what to do. Please take a look on my picture and find out who they are exactly!

American Laser centers are a scam. I paid over 2, 200 dollars to get hair removed off my face. I signed a contract that states if there is any hair after your last treatment feel free to come free of charge. This is crap. they do not even return your phone call. How proffesional is that. Will definitely not recommend this company to anyone and feel for those who are still getting screwed. Crystal Medina is the manger at the American Laser Center in Mesa, Arizona and she will not call back . Now all I do is see her as a sweet talker. Just remember you all what comes around goes around. I hope this company goes under big time, because they are not honest and sincere and they do not fulfill what they say they will do. I will probably join the class action suit that Alexis started and even probably take them to court. All I want is for them to finish their job that they had started. My face is a mess and it is because of them.

American Laser Centers speak highly of having the "most comprehensive guarantee in the industry". However it is very misleading. It is not a "money-back" guarantee.
After 5 years and $1000.00 worth of treatment, with minimal to no results, and several occasions where I have expressed the lack of effectiveness of the treatments to the clinic manager, corporate has informed me that there never was a guarantee of receiving any type of refund. Having called customer service, they told me that they intended their "comprehensive guarantee" to mean that they guarantee servicing the client for 6 treatments and up to 2 years after the 6th treatment, regardless if the initial treatment package was effective in the first place. Which for me never was or has been even with the 2-year follow-up.
They explained that their guarantee does not imply guaranteeing any results or treatment effectiveness as that can vary from person to person, even if no permanent hair loss occurs.
For those with no, minimal or patchy hair loss results, a maintenance package of $100/treatment is the only option, (with no guarantee of success, but only a guarantee of service that the treatment will be given.)
If you choose to use ALC just be sure to understand that they don't really guarantee their results. And there is no recourse if treatment fails. They will attribute ineffectiveness to many factors and will talk about changing laser settings or the new technology/lasers they just received and how that will certainly make the difference with the next round of treatments.

I purchased a package for $3000 hair removal. It's been over 3 years, no results. I have been transferred from one clinic to another and promised results because they just got the "new and improved" laser. I sent pictures, filed complaints with local and "corporate" offices. All unsuccessfully. If anyone knows how to get my refund back please contact me: olga.getsina@gmail.com. I can't believe that this company is still around and that no one has been able to get their money back!

Hey people:

I'm one of many clients that was treated in the ALC VA location and was burn very badly and was lied to that the manager and Tech knew what they were doing and was very well trained. But that not at the case. The owner are brother and sister who hires people to do the treatment but no way trained these people and could careless what happens to their client's health. Just as along that they have yousign their contract and get you to enroll in their in house credit company, you will never be able to cancel or even get them to undo any damaged/harm that they did to you. They have an in house family lawyer who is more than ready at any time to write up threaten letters to you and scare you off.

If anyone wants to get any treatment with ALC in VA and MD do not even think of doing business with these people. They are far from being honerable and do not give a ratz ### about you, your health or even your life. Stay away from ALC!

ALC I hope you burn in hell and all your family and those that work for you shame on you for all the lies!

When I orginally got a hair removal package at this company it was great.

THEN the company changed ownership and became American Lasers. American Lasers did not provide costumers will high quality service or machines.

The machine they currently use is a light laser that can be used for facial rejuvenation as well as hair removal. Sounds great...but really isn't. The machine burns and wasn't ultimately created for hair removal. The employees they have are poorly trained and always leaving. Everytime I go their is someone new...they have a high turnover...so it's hard to get someone good to operate the machines.

Laser informations sites say..Pulsed Light Devices are not lasers, but are “laser equivalents” in the sense that they use the same concept of selective photothermolysis to accomplish hair removal. IPL devices are more difficult to use than lasers and require a very skilled and experiences technician to operate!

So, don't go to this company. GO somewhere that has a special laser designed for hair removal. The best laser that was used on me did NOT get super hot, caused the hair to fall out immediately or within the next day, caused a gross but satisfying smell of burnt hair (letting you know it was working), and yes hurt (like a good waxing hurt)...but worked amazingly!

The hot lasers dont work well. The last treatment I had with this company used the hot laser too high and BURNT ME. I knew that the hurting sensation was BAD and not good pain machines cause when they work properly and killing the roots. Instead it felt like SOMEONE lit a match against my skin...the next day, I got a BLISTER...and it's scabbed over now. It seems way deeper than I imagined. I am crossing my fingers hoping I wont get a scar.

Be Careful. Do your research on the type of machine your laser place is using. Not all machines are created equal. Many companies will get a crappy machine to safe $$.

American Laser made an unauthorized charged my account with Care Credit. I never signed a contract nor did I receive any of the treatments. When I made contact with the manager Melissa at this particular location she said there would be no problem that she will contact the corporate office and have my account refunded, this was of course only after I told her that this was a fraudulent act upon American Laser because they have no documentation with my signature authorizing them to charge me for any service.
Well it is now four months and I am still making payments to the Care Credit account but Care Credit is now looking into the matter for me and I am hoping to get all of my money back.

I have made several attempts to contact Melissa again but I have not received any phone calls back. I will definately not do anymore business with American Laser Centers.

I pay for Full Body Laser Hair removal treatment. I experience skin irritation and burns after the very first treatment, and immediately sought medical help with other physicians. I also stopped all further treatments and request refund of the fees I had paid. The clinic has not respond to my request and it has already been a year. The treatment itself was so painful, but they kept me saying that I was doing great.

They hardly respond a call and they are rude, so pls girls be careful!

This company offers expensive treatments and makes you wait hours for your appointment. I had to wait for about one and a half hour for my first appointment. Then, I had to wait one hour during my second appointment... After that, I had to wait half an hour for my third appointment. And, for the first time, I wasn't able to arrive to my appointment on time (10:00am) and they told me they couldn't attend me because I was more than 15 minutes late (18 minutes). They told me that it was a rule for the company to cancel appointments of clients who were 15 or more minutes late (which was new for me because they NEVER mentioned that when I agreed to receive treatment). Now, I ask only one question... They made me wait during all my previous appointments for more than half an hour and I always arrived on time. What would have happen if I would have arrived earlier that day? I would have had to wait anyway the same amount of time I had to wait previously in my other appointments... My appointment was canceled that day and I had to leave with a bitter taste in my soul because I know that I would have had to wait until half an hour later for getting my treatment (thirty minutes after ten, 10:30am) and I got to the place at 10:18am.

Ran a credit charge of $1, 800.00 dollars for four treatments, said someone would contact me to set an appointment for the treatments and they would be from another office because Modesto did not offer Vela Shape. I called again to say that I had not heard from anyone, Christy said she would have someone get back to me again, still have not heard from anyone. This company if a scam and I am telling anyone who thinks this may sound good, I hardly doubt it, they have my money, but I have not service, I will be reporting them and taking them to court if I do not get a full refund.

Pkg. purchased in Chandler, AZ. while on vacation. Transferring to Calif. was nightmare. Have to travel to 2 locations, far apart, for treatments because not all treatments are available at all locations. It took 2 wks to make appt. and many phone calls trying to get records transferred (and I was told I was responsible for that). Because I have to go between 2 locations I am responsible for having records transferred to alternate location after each procedure. Office and clerical employees were significantly less desireable than Chandler location. I purchased pkg on May 13, 2008 and found out afterward about promotion for CareCredit to match amount spent with services equaling half of that amount. I was told I had to call original place of purchase to see if I qualify and was told the promotion was only during the last week in May, and that locations are only told of promotions on a last minute basis. In addition, trying to contact someone at corporate level is IMPOSSIBLE! Even contacting individual locations is next to impossible because all phone #'s listed and e-mail is directed through a central office. I spent a lot of money and certainly expected decent customer service.

For such a large company this one is a joke!

Do not ever deal with this company. They use deceptive marketing strategies such as telling you that you won a gift certificate for $300 - $500 for services. This is a trap.

Not only are they liars, they are dangerous and unlicensed people doing procedures they have not received proper training to do.

Warning ! Stay away!

I have filed my complaint with the bbb and i urge all that have knowledge of this to do so as well.

I had paid thousands of dollar for a series of Photo Facial, the manger practically was calling me every 15 minutes to give me discount and push me into their "Once in a lifetime promotion". After the charged my money, they all changed. The did not keep their appointment, lost my record. The machine was not working, the staff was constantly changing, the manager always looked miserable etc... Eventually they burnt me on my lip, they said it was OK, the burn would always healed. Just put some Aquaphor on it! When I called the managers, customer centers... they called back after few weeks and said, come back and finish the treatment after your burn healed. But NO REFUND... It is their policy. So good luck..
They even told me they did not need a license tp use laser in NY, so good luck, and their medical advisor was a Dr Catherine ? in Michigan. Wonder was that a real person or just a phoney diploma...
Do not go, they are all thieves..

This location operates under the name American Laser Center, but in fact is not. I recieved a treatment in this location by a highly untrained person - so much so that it caused me to do the research to find out what their business status is. According to the HQ of American Laser Center, this location was "removed from their network" and "closed down" due to failure to achieve licenses and pay fees. They said it was purchased by a doctor and they can not be responsible for what happens in this location. This people are NOT trained professionals - they are not knowledgeable about the procedures they are completing and should NOT be open!

I had wanted to tighten the skin on my underarms and also to smooth the skin around my upper thighs. I was told by the manager, that their new laser machine could accomplish this. After six treatments, the technician, a registered nurse, said that my skin was too thin and that she reccommended that I do not continue the treatments because I would not see any results. She said that the laser machine was never intended to do what I had paid for. I asked the corporate office to refund my $2200.00 which I had paid for 20 treatments. I have never been contacted by any member of the American Laser Company. After reading dozens of complaints against American Laser, I would like to join in on any Class-Action Suit. This company is a total rip-off.

I was a tech at ALC and I actually knew what I was doing because I went to school and graduated for Esthetics. Unlike some of the Techs that worked there, who had no formal training in skin care.

The Techs there havehad the training with the lasers to do the treatments but didnt have enough experience for them to be affective. The problem is that none of them have time to do the treatments the way they need to be done. The Manager, Dawn Stellabotte schedules clients appointments one after another. You were lucky if you even had five minutes in between to sanatize.
The Manager is always suppose to be in the clinic incase of emergencies, which she never was. Most of the time there would only be one tech there for the whole morning, alone. Doesnt sound very safe, does it? Not to mention that when a new client would come in for a consult, she would put them in front of the client that already had an appointment just because she wanted their money. So, not only did would this cause the techs to run really behind but she made the other clients upset because they would have to wait an hr or longer to get their treatment.

Every tech that starts at ALC has a number of "supervised" treatments that have to be completed to be allowed to perform treatments on their own. Well, let me tell you. That is not the case. She would throw these girls right in and leave them alone. I was left alone and she said "I let you do a face by yourself?" I answered "yes, good thing I know what I'm doing and did't burn anyone." She just laughed and walked away. No wonder people were getting burned and the treatments were NOT working. None of the procedures are simple and certain settings and the way the machines are held, are what make the treatments affective. It's not entirely the techs fault that some people got burned. When you have Dawn constantly knocking on the door and telling you to hurry up it would make you a bit nervous im sure. I felt bad for these girls they werent treated very well or comfortable with what they were doing and when they said something about it she would get very mean.

Not everyone is a candidate for these procedures. Though ALC doesnt seem to care. We were basically told to them whatever they wanted to hear to get the sale. If anyone remembers, I was the one telling ppl not to buy another package because there was not a significant amount of results at that point. So, they were not going to see any. I was then told that if I didnt make bonus I would be fired. I pretty much was always a bit under schedule because I refused to rush the treatments and my patients actually started to see results. If they needed double passed I would do it even though their appointment was never blocked out for enough time. When clients would call to make their appointments they would ask for me to be their tech and they were told no. What kind of place tells you that you cant request a tech? A lot of the time the clients had to be naked. They wanted to know why I couldnt be requested and I didnt know why. They were tired of having a different person everytime they came. Also, asking me why the turnover is so high. Probably because the techs were tired of being told to lie to clients.

The customer service is very bad. When there was a problem the manager would act like she was too busy to come and speak with a client.

An older lady with gray hair came in one day and was very upset about her treatments not working. Another tech was to do it that day and she came to get me because the lady was very upset and the manager as usual, wasnt there yet. So, I began to talk to her and explain that it would take longer and the settings would need to be higher and double passed because there wasnt any pigment in the hair. Apparently she was also lied to. Well, after she settled down I left the room for a moment. I went back in and read the normal questions that are asked at each visit, including medication change etc... Good thing I did because the tech was going to perform the hair removal and the med she was on actually would of caused her to get burned because it was photo sensative. (It wasnt the techs fault. She was new and very unexperienced and should of been with a manager until she got certified) Well, she became very angry because when she asked the manager over the phone, she was told that she could have the procedure. She should of known that the medication has to be stopped up to 48hrs before to not cause burning. What kind of managers do ALC hire? Well, after myself having to keep asking the manager to come and speak with the lady, she finally did. The woman said what her concerns where and how disappointed she was. Then, the manager actually started yelling at this lady a speaking to her like a child.
After that day I quit. I only stayed as long as I did for my clients. There is so much more that went on, I could be here for days.

I URGE EVERYONE TO PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM ALC!

There are other day spas in Pittsburgh that are Excellent at these same treatments. They are very professional. These things WILL not happen to you and the treatments will actuallywork!

If there is any way I can be of help to anyone that is in a lawsuit against ALC please let me know.

My friend refered me to this place and I got full body hair removal package and 10 micro's for $5, 000 from American Laser In April 2008. I was told if I am unsatisfied I can always get my money back. I developed burns and infections after 2 sittings, and was put on antibiotics by my doctor. When I called the office manager sometime in August 2008 to complain she was so rude and told me their is no way I am going to get my money back, but I can continue the treatments for life. I am caling the company no one seems to respond and return my calls. Someone Plz someone help me I have already paid $2, 600 and I want rest of my money back. Don't trust these people for anything; they are nothing but scam. They burn you and they have every reason to cover their story. BEWARE of them PLEASE.

Feel I was cheated by this company!

MILITARY BEWARE! The American Laser Center in Vacaville, CA has asked me several times to provide them numbers to the base newspaper and other advertising forums on Travis Air Force Base. Thank God I never did. This place told me that they work very close with military clients since it is a huge client base for them. They said they work well with accommodating military members during deployments, PCS, TDY, etc. I became pregnant and then there was talk of my husband getting orders so I called to cancel the remaining treatments left but would pay for what I had received. THE ONLY THING THEY WILL DO IS POUT YOUR ACCOUNT ON HOLD. EVEN IF THAT MEANS FOR 4 YEARS WHILE YOU ARE AT AN OVERSEAS BASE WHILE THEY RECEIVE PAYMENT FOR YOUR UNUSED TREATMENTS!They are deceptive, manipulative, and I have YET to be contacted by the regional manager. I was told that the regional manager had a "cold" and "could not talk". This was 3 weeks ago! So I am going to pay over $2,000 for services not rendered. They will tell you anything you want to hear to get your money. Please keep in mind... they are actively seeking advertisement on military instillations. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY TO THIS DECEITFUL COMPANY.

I have been going to American Laser in Virginia Beach for about two years for laser hair removal, and have seen zero results. Of course they didn't tell me that when they were taking my money. BEWARE! Imagine going there for 2 years, still having hair on my chin and spending quite a bit of money. I would like to share with as many people as possible so that consumers are aware of the service the company provides.

I brought a Laser package for over a thousand dollars for removal of hair on my chin. I only had a few hairs on my chin, however I was told not to pluck the hair and to shave it. I went to treatment every six to eight weeks and didn’t see any results. Each time I notified them that I wasn’t seeing any results and continued to go to treatment since they assured me that it sometimes takes longer for the chin area.

As I was approaching my 5th or 6th treatment and I was still not noticing any hair loss, they told me that they were going to do "double passes" with the laser (meaning that they would go over the treated area twice with the laser). When that didn't work and I still wasn't seeing any hair loss, I was told that I was going to have a “double pass” with the stronger laser. They tried that and still no result.

I spoke to the manager who informed me that my contract was up and I would have to pay $50.00 for the weekly treatments. Two years into it and my hair on my chin is still there. It’s actually worse because I have been shaving and now the hair is all over my chin and not just in the one spot.

The treatments have not been working as purported. They are expensive, and a waste of time and money. ALC has been deceitful and it's clear that their goal is to get your money at the outset and offer no customer service after the fact.

I just want everyone else to know to be aware that American Laser is not the answer. They advertise that hair will be permanently removed. Not true.

I got treated (ripped off) in the Brentwood TN location, 100% No Results...thousands taken.

American Laser Center fails to tell people that the laser hair removal ONLY WORKS ON SOME PEOPLE! Even if you have dark black hair.

They send out $300-$1000 OFF PACKAGE VOUCHERS in their online contest. The WHOLE PURPOSE of this technique is to GET YOU TO SIGN A BINDING CONTRACT WITHOUT KNOWING IF THE TREATMENTS WILL WORK FOR YOU. Chances are...THEY WILL NOT!

I spent thousands of dollars on a package to find out that the lasers they use do not work on me...(note that I have had great results at other hair removal clinics using a different type of laser machine). Not a SINGLE strand of hair has fallen off since I have been getting treated at American Laser Center in Brentwood TN...Treatment Works on VERY few people. Don't waste your time and money.

American Laser Center Brentwood TN - DON'T SIGN CONTRACT. 100% No Results.

From what I have read online, YOU WILL HAVE A BETTER CHANCE OF GETTING BURNED AND PERMANENTLY SCARRED BY LASER THAN HAIR BEING REMOVED!

I have been going for almost 3 years for facial hair removal and have seen MINIMAL results to say the least. I have been reminded at every office that its guaranteed and also there is no refunds. I moved from Indy to Austin and have seen the same business scam at each one. I have spent almost $2000 dollars on this and want to see the results I was GUARANTEED. But I don't see hardly any results. I want to see this company sued for these procedures they offer and the lies they tell and every dissatisfied customer to get their money back if not more, for gas, time wasted, products bought and pain inflicted from laser burns. Email me if you know how to get this done legally.

In March of 2007 I was told I'd "won" a $300 gift certificate for laser hair removal from American Laser Center. I went to the free consultation, and was offered almost 50% the normal price for a treatment on the bikini area. The package I purchased was for 6 treatments and I was told that even though I'm strawberry blond, it would work guaranteed. Beyond that, I was told, if hair did grow back at any time in the following 2 years after my 6th treatment I could return for further treatment at no cost. However here is 3 years later, I have one appointment left in my 2 year guarantee, and I've continued to be treated this entire time. I've seen 0% reduction! When I asked for a refund I was told it wasn't company policy (even though that's not specified in ANY of the paperwork I signed), but instead I could continue to be treated for $50/per 30 minute session. I feel completely helpless, and I'm totally out $1k. I've asked to speak to the Regional Manager, but was told that she would give me the same information. HELP! I've gotten on board with a class action suit forming in Michigan, but I want to do so much more to expose the scamming practices of this company. DO NOT BE TREATED HERE.
