I ordered a trial bottle for $3.95. When i got my bank statement they had charged my account $87.13. I have tried several times to e-mail their [protected]@acaiburn.com and they say they will get back within 48-72 hours. Thas has been two weeks. I have emailed them again, no response. This is a scam. Dont give them any credit or bank information!

I've cancelled every new payment that comes up on my credit card, but new ones keep appearing as well. I'm thinking the best way might be to cancel my credit card altogether. I recomend the same. Good luck. Also, call those numbers on your statement and scream at them on the phone to cancel all charges, refund your money, and stop charging under new names.

Yep, got hit by the same mongrel company. Read their terms and conditions after the event of course and they have the audacity to say they will charge anyone who makes a complaint about them for fraud. What company other than a shonky one puts that inot terms and conditions. Very expensive lesson learnt. Cancel the card immediately!

LIAR"S! Yes these company's do display the terms and conditions...All the way down on the bottom of the page in small print where no one would think to look. And the (order now) link is also in the (middle) of the page ...Way way before you would even see the small TERMS AND CONDITIONS. I also had to cancel my CC # and have new ones issued. These thieves never got a dime from me.I got credit from Chase. They are very much aware of these crooks and took very good care of me. I also notified ABC action news and they are being investigated if that helps.

This may a problem when you don't receive the refund! you can call all you want, these
people are crooks! the bank should have given you the toll free number for the company, but it sounds like the bank is failing miserably at helping you! threaten to close the account and take your business elsewhere. There are MANY of these companies on the internet so you have to find the one who phished your info! This is a problem that should still be in the news, here is a story from MAY 2009:

http://www.kwch.com/Global/story.asp?S=10420265

Fight this by reporting to your state atty general and file a police report for the bank to put with the unauthorized charge fraud complaint. Don't give in or back down!
These crooks are duping financial services worldwide. GOOD LUCK!

Hi there, I am experiencing the same problem as you with this company! It's getting ridiculous!

I am going to go and try to change my bank account today but my bank are uneasy about it as the company will still charge the old account which will then be redirected to me...

Has this happened to you? What did your bank say?

I would greatly appreciate any advice! Thanks.

For Drea. You tell people to read. You should learn how to spell you ###. People are angry, like me, for being charged twice and being stuffed around when ringing up all over the world trying to cancel this product. Then having to cancel credit cards and change because this complany fraudently charges for products they don't send. So get off your high horse and get a clue.

The above link does not work! Try .net instead.

227 days ago, I posted this- the ordering page has changed- again- but this was true 227 days ago. I even spoke with customer svc and advised them of this. By the way, the rep that I spoke with assured me that everyone, including the celebrity faces on their site endorsed the product!

Here is what I wrote 227 days ago.

I ordered and canceled - hopefully. I believe that this product makes ridiculous claims. At the bottom of the Acaiburn website there is "Please Enter Your Details Below To See If You Qualify For One Of Our Trials" where you enter your weight, height and age and also your goal weight. You could enter the weight of an extremely underweight person and the results would still indicate that you qualify for a "FREE TRIAL". Talk about marketing! - and people continue to fall for it. Unfortunately, unless there is a medical problem, the answer is not one that we want to hear. Consume less calorie ladden foods and burn more calories.

By the way, when purchasing the "FREE TRIAL", you agree to pay for shipping and handling, re-order each month or so, but the big money is in a CLUB that you are joining. My CLUB membership cost me to the tune of $59.95 per month along with $9.95 month for the actual product and shipping and handling each month. The fine print is off to the right side of the screen, you have to move the scroll bar over to see it. Stupid me! I only have 6 lbs. that I want to lose and was looking for an easy way out.

Put a hold or cancel your credit card you used with them. If they continue to send product keep it. Anything received in the mail is yours. Also dispute your debt with your creditor. You didn't authorize any transactions and they should investigate for fraud!

Sorry, maybe I'm just a bit too sceptical but really, just how personal an email can you send to somebody who calls themself The Manager? That screams 'we really don't care what you think, suckers' to me. In England there's a saying 'pull the other one, it's got bells on'. On a lighter note I just misread 'Just Think Medias products' as Judas products.

3 steps you can take now if you are a victim of this scam:

1. Chargeback. File a fraud charge with your credit card or bank and let them sort it out. They have more muscle to go after this sort of crime. Explain to them about all the consumer complaints that are on the internet and "insist" that they do charge-back or file a fraud charge. Your bank or credit card organization has all the tools necessary to find out where the charges are coming from, what business is involved, addresses and phone numbers connected to the charge and etc. You may not know or have access to this information. The banks and credit card org have all this at their fingertips and are obligated to handle the problem that has resulted.
More info at: http://www.chrismalta.com/scamtip1.asp

2. FTC. File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. Their job is to monitor and go after these types of scams. Go to: http://www.ftc.gov/ftc/contact.shtm

3. Attorney General. File a complaint with your state Attorney General and also with the Attorney General of Iowa (where a lot of the phone numbers and addresses seem to be located)

i ordered the free trial /pay for shipping offer, got 1 bottle of acaiburn and 1 bottle of colonx.Colonx is from a different company in florida, cannot reach these people, called the number on my bank statement and the rep was rude and told me to send the unused bottles back, my debit card and all personal info was in the care of a sc state worker for 3 weeks, did not even have my card, to my suprise there are 3 bottles of acaiburn in a bag right now that i have been charged $79.28, three times, and $89.89 for colonx, which was the pakg deal for shipping. Oprah and Dr. Green, even sai on tv that they are upset because thiese copanies are using their names to endorse these products, and they were mad.Even if i wanted to use this product, which i dont, i dont like the practice of sending a product within 1 week of each other, why would you send me 3 bottles for a 30 day supply, it has costs me lots of trouble, i am on a disability check, they took this money out of mine and my daughters s.s.account and there wasnt enough money, the bank charged me 30.00 3 times and iam in trouble, i have no food, money, gas, and i ended up in the ER after taking acaiburn and colonx for 1 week. sweating, pouring water out of my body, drinking 2 cases of water in 3 days, and soaking 4 t-shirts a night leaving my bed soaking wet, the dr, thought i was crazy, they owe me $237.84 plus 90.00 for the bank charges and also there is a charge withanother company EZYKIT for $8.53. that had tio be cancelled too, these people are vultures, they do not care about you or your health or what kind of money situation you are in, they need to be punished by the federal government, i intend to sen this to our attorney general of SC, TTHE HONORABLE HENRY MCMASTER.

Yes you can get your money back, but it's a huge hassle.
Go online or call your bank to get details of charges. There will be a phone number listed for the outfit that is making the charges. Then call them. Call during regular business hours. Then INSIST they they cancel AND refund all charges. The recording you get at first may say that any charges already made to your account cannot be refunded. NOT TRUE. Yell at them and keep on yelling until they agree to refund the money. If they say they can refund 50%, REFUSE. Keep on refusing and don't get off the phone until they agree to refund 100%--less shipping, if they've actually shipped you something. You have to return the unused portion of the AcaiBurn in order to get your $58 back, and you have to pay to send it. You also need to get a tracking number from the post office. Then you have to track the thing until the p.o. says it was delivered. THEN you call the company, give them the tracking number, and demand your money. You'll get it back. But you need to watch your bank account or credit card charges from then on to catch all the other little companies that will charge you $7 or $8 a month or whatever--an amount they think you won't notice--and keep calling and cancelling whoever has jumped onto your gravy train. According to the two banks I have talked to, the only way to stop this for good is to cancel your current card and get a new one!

I am just so pissed off with these ###s from Acaiburn & their f@#*ing scam.
I have been scammed about $400, of which I will cut their balls off if I don't refunded in full, also the FBI will be involved.
This stupid global internet buying is out of control, buy local is the only answer.
They have 10 days to refund my money or it's the FBI.
### like Acaiburn & the rest need to be locked up & have all their assets seized.

I, too, fell for this scam. I signed up in July 2009 and paid them $126.96 on my credit card. When I received the shipment I tried the tablet for two days and it cause irregular heart beats. It reads on the bottle that it might cause problems if you are dibetic and have high blood pressure, but it does not tell you that when you visit the website and order. I called them to cancel the service and requested a refund and requested that no other related charges be place on my credit card. I returned all the bottles, but I have yet to received a refund to my credit card. Today I was reviewing my credit card charges and found two other companies are now charging me for "World Club Fitness" and "Weight Loss Resources." I have no idea what they are. I found their telephone numbers on the Acaiburn website and called both of them immediately to stop the charges. Apparently Acaiburn gives them your info and credit card numbers and they have a website for diet info or something that they charge you for monthly. It's just another way to rip you off. I have never been on either of their sites. There is no refund from them, but I did get them to stop the charges. $10.38, I can live with the loss, but this has been a very bad experience. I will never recommend this product to anyone. It is a big rip off.

I too live on the Gold Coast in Queensland, and even though I cancelled my membership on 9th July, they continue to deduct monthly small amounts, which is very concerning. If they were a reputable company and their product had any worth they would not need to resort to such low tactics. My bank's fraud department will be handling this matter. Moyra Galton

The same thing has happened to me also. I ordered the trial for the cost of the shipping $4.95 and was charged $72.37 before the 14 day trial period was up. I contacted them on the on-line chat and asked them not to charge me with anything more and now I have two more charges of $8.84 and $4.01. Where does it stop.

More info for the acaiburn/acaipure/colocleanse etc. (handled by the same company)
1. You must call the company directly to cancel the membership. The email does not work because they NEVER reply. The company will tell you that you MUST have a confirmation number in order to recognize your cancellation.
2. Returning the product with "refused" at the PO will not work because the company is saying it is taking USPS up to 3 months to return it to them. (Not true. I work for USPS) They are not tracking your item to see your refusal because then it it not processed within the 30 days after ordering.
3. They get around the PO lie by saying that "it can take up to 3 months for our warehouse to process that return." Therefore, getting around the 30 day policy-- AND getting around you returning it direct with prioriy shipping and a delivery confirmation.

I ended up disputing the transaction with my credit card company. The credit card company is now looking into two months of transactions after I cancelled online. (Total: $180.00)

1. Please please please read the terms & conditions on any online website!
2. Do your research, ie, read forums, etc before entering into any contract!
3. If you can't see any terms & conditions, think about buying elsewhere!
4. If you do get "scammed", ring your bank and ask if you have any dispute rights - don't demand refunds - take responsibility for your actions - you have entered into these contracts without due care and attention.

5. Get off your backsides and do some exercise - eating less helps as well - if these products really worked, don't you think that everbybody would be skinny - get real!
