Today I went into my local Children's Place store in Brentwood, CA. I had 3 pairs of unworn uniform pants with the tags still on from the previous school year. I unfortunately no longer had my receipt but did purchase the items on my Children's Place credit card. When I arrived to the store I was told by the employee that I could exchange the pants for the next size up or down. I then went to locate 3 pairs of pants in my daughters size which is now a size 16 which the store had very few options in stock in her size. I then had her try on the new pants. When I returned to the register with the new items I was then told the pants have to be the same exact style. The store did not have the same exact style in my daughter's size and due to "company policy" I was unable to exchange the pants for the larger size, store credit or even return the items for my money back. I have never come across a more inconvenient "company policy" as this in my entire life. I am now stuck with 3 pairs of uniform pants that I paid full price for and my daughter was unable to wear due to the closure of her school because of the pandemic. I think it is important for these big chain stores to cater to their paying customers and be a little more flexible in these uncertain times.
Desired outcome: Want to be able to exchange the paints for any style and size that fits my daughter currently or what is in available in the store.
