United Collection Bureau [UCB] Collection

I woke up to my account being negative, when I called my bank I was advise that a levy was placed by UCB, they gave me their number. I was on hold for two hours before the rep. answered, Sierra and transferred me to Julia.

After waiting for two hours, the rep. I asked about the debt and that I knew nothing about it. I continue to tell her that I never received notice and that no calls were received. She then attempted to tell a notice was sent out on Sept.

2021. I advise her that we are in June 2023, that nothing was placed on my credit report, she told me that they do not report to the credit agency and they don't have to send out more notices than one.

Julia continue to advise me that they have the right to levy an account.

How is this allowed without any notice?

Desired outcome: I will like a refund, I am willing to work out a solution.

United Collection Bureau [UCB] Bank Levy

On May 17, 2023 I received a bank statement that appeared I was overdrawn; I contacted the bank and was told I have a Levy on my account for $1411.80.

I've trying calling [protected] for several days, no one has ever answered the phone!

today my bank customer service told me this amount was to be paid out tomorrow!

I still have no idea Why my account has a Levy; i can't reach anyone to help.

I haven't received any letters, text or phone calls just a Levy!

at least answer the phone and let me know Why a Levy was placed on my account.

Peggy Allawat

Desired outcome: i want to know WHY the Levy on my account; remove the Levy; give me back access to my bank account money.

United Collection Bureau [UCB] Continued emails from ucb inc, but refusal to reply to my emails and letters

To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing to file a complaint against United Collection Bureau, Inc. regarding their failure to acknowledge and respond to my repeated attempts to contact them since March 2023. Despite sending several letters March 30thand April 8th directly to their offices and emails to Ms. Maria Azarowicz on March 28th, April 18th and again on April 20th & 21st. I have not received any response from Ms. Azarowicz or anyone else from UCB, which is unacceptable and unprofessional.

In addition, I find it particularly concerning that UCB continues to send me emails requesting that I contact them, while ignoring my attempts to communicate with them. This lack of communication has caused me great inconvenience and distress.

The issue at hand concerns an unconfirmed collection account that has been assigned to me. Despite my repeated requests for Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) documentation, which is my legal right, UCB has failed to respond. This has left me feeling frustrated and helpless, as I am unsure how to proceed with resolving the issue.

Therefore, I am requesting that immediate action be taken to force UCB to respect my legal rights and begin direct contact with me through my email account at [protected]@gmail.com using their company email address. I urge you to help me resolve this issue as soon as possible, as it is essential that UCB takes my concerns seriously and provides me with the necessary assistance to resolve the matter.

In conclusion, I am deeply dissatisfied with the services provided by United Collection Bureau, Inc. and I hope that you will take swift action to address my concerns.

Sincerely,

Tom Sights

Desired outcome: Their need to communicate with e by email and provide me with the legal information that I should be provided by law.

United Collection Bureau [UCB] Payment plan not followed

I made a payment plan for my account. I was told to pay $300 a month. I did that and they took another bill out that was included in the payment plan. Now no one will answer the phone.

I made the payment plan in July and was told to make my first payment on the 17th of every month. I made a payment online ( via their voicemail instructions) and received a confirmation number. Now I have a $230.10 charge on my account PLUS the $299.99 ( which I paid an even $300 so this makes me think this was not my payment and they took another $299.99 out of my account and I have more money coming out)

Its ridiculous that someone can take money out of your account with your consent and not have to answer for it.

Desired outcome: I would like someone to call me and explain to my why my payment plan is not being followed and when they plan to return my funds.

United Collection Bureau [UCB] Bill from memorial hermann

I found out there was an outstanding balanced owed to hospital. I contacted them to setup a payment plan. They apparently sent me to collections. This collection agency is very shady. The 3 people I spoke with were extremely rude and tried to belittle me. At this point I will wait for it to show up on my credit report and go through them to pay it and challenge it. If I pay through there it at least shows proof. I don't trust these slim shady people. I have no idea what and why I owe the amount either. They would not allow me to ask that question, cutting me off. Then hung up on me.

United Collection Bureau [UCB] Collection agency

They called my son re collection on a medical bill. My son is a student in Florida. We reside in Canada. We have medical insurance for my son, but it is possible that the insurance didn't cover his entire visit to urgent care. My son gave me authorization to speak to UCB on his behalf. I asked them for a copy of the medical bill. The gave me a link to see the invoice, but when I went to the link there is not a copy of the original invoice, but just an amount owing. I explained to three different collection agents when they called that I would gladly pay the bill, if they can show me the original invoice so that I can check against what my insurance provider has already paid. They again directed me to their link. I tried explaining that the link doesn't show the original invoice. They said they mailed the invoice. I said I did not receive it in the mail. Then they said they could not mail it because we are out of the country. They are extremely rude on the phone and threatened me. They start with saying the call may be recorded...maybe someone should listen to the way they speak to people. They won't send me the original invoice by mail (because I'm out of the country), the link they send just has an amount. They tell me the invoice is from a company called "Wood & Associates" or "Wood Medical", but when I google that company I can't find them. How are they allowed to ask for payment when they can't provide an original invoice? Wood Medical, whoever you are, maybe you shouldn't use a company like this.

United Collection Bureau [UCB] How they conduct business

Sanju Sharma, and Mike Karosas are bottom feeders who manipulate and cheat their employees and clients. Sanju Brags about how he gambles hundreds of thousands of dollars in Las Vegas, and at the Hard Rock spending clients money. He is known for paying clients off at citibank. He has Barbara Green showing her breasts to clients, and teasing them just enough to put them in a compromising position. They will do anything to get business, and have threatened employees, and other people outside of the company to put a scare in them. For years they had Glenn Brady a former Citibank decision maker on the take, and they would party together.

United Collection Bureau [UCB] Calls at work, unwilling to work with me and insulting

A "Ken Stewart" called me at work repeatedly and left a message with my co-worker that he was collecting a debt. He finally stopped calling at work after I called him at home and asked him to stop. He was at least nice, however on May 12, 2011, I called this collection agency to work out a payment play. The first lady was nice, but she went ahead and pulled up my credit bureau report without my permission and proceeded to tell me that I had two other credit cards with limits available to use to pay off the bad debt. She then transferred me to a "jeannette levy" I doubt if that was her name. She had a thick accent and was hard to understand, she instantly become rude, insulting, and arguementative. When I argued back, she pushed one of the keys on her phone in my ear. I yelled "hey you listen to me, knock off your stupid games." I called back and some other foreign sounding guy answered, I asked for Ms Cross, the first lady I talked to and he wanted to know if I had her extension, I said no, so he said he would transfer me. He came back on two more times just to tell me one moment, then the rude Ms. levy came back on. "oh yes, you're the one who started yelling at me." I told her nice trick with her number key in my ear and that I was filing a grievance with Citi Bank (the original debt holder and the BBB."

United Collection Bureau [UCB] Harssing phone calls

So this so called company calls my 15 yr old nephew (while he's in school) then calls my sister (who they say they are looking for) then they call my mother, then they call her husband (my sisters), her mother-in-law, sister-in-laws. When we call the company to get some answers and they would not give us any unless we provide her ss# or mailing address or the birthdate which I gave none of this to them since I have dealt with people like this before, I was to ask for a Mr.Berry at ext. 639-29, well when I called asked for Mr.Berry they asked for ext# I gave it I was transferred to another person who asked me for a case no# which I gave them, she said she would transfer me WELL when I finally got to Mr.Berry I answered his questions but he would not answer mine he said he had to put me on hold for a minute which I told him that was all he had was a minute...5 minutes later I hung up and called the same 800 # and load and be hold he answered the phone and he called me by name (sisters name) he would not give me any info just that he needs to finish the call he was on...so I waited WAY TO LONG if you ask me so I hung up and called back a 3rd time this time when I gave the extn. I was given to a female who said she was the SUPERVISOR and that Mr. Berry had just come to her to take the call so I asked her what this was all about and here again she asked me for the ss# or my date of birth I told her that she did not need it that her company needs to stop calling and harassing family members and she stated that she has the right to do this. I stated to her if she did not stop harassing the family I would turn it over to the police...she hung up on me... so I called back and the nice lady on the phone just said hello but gave no company name I stated to her you just hung up on me and she said OH NO MISS I WOULD NEVER DO THAT ... until I gave her my sisters name then she got so RUDE i told her to stop right there that they would no longer be calling family members and that all the info was being given to the police and the bbb and so on...I told her the jig is up it's nothing but a scam and she said ### YOUR THE SCAM PAY YOUR BILLS...
If this is a true company (and I know it's not) they would answer the phone using the company name and not HELLO they wouldn't be calling family members none of this kind of stuff.
I work for a major company this company is known world wide and if we conducted our self like this there would be no company and I would not have a job

United Collection Bureau [UCB] Poor Labor and fraud

First off I would like to start by saying for you to say I didn't give a F about my job was so far left. I will defend myself and inform you that I had a miscarriage due to the long hours and stress brought on by DIBectkton of which he informed me to sue you and company for. But because I loved my job I chose not to go that route! So before you say I don't care stop listening to the crap that comes out of your directors mouths..

Now where should I begin... As far as the verification of checks and NSF's per DIBeckton Jean Alexis and a few others were told that if we could not get a hold of the bank we could verify in other ways (if you view some of Jeans work you will see we were on the same page per DIBeckton) so the following were implemented by him:

1. call the bank if unable to verify then;
2. call the debtor if unable to contact the debtor
3. verify off history unless sif then push it through.

So I followed his direct instructions he also informed me personally that at the end of the month we did not need to verify checks since we have a low NSF rate and I was pulling too many checks and we needed to hit goal! So I didn't then I got written up for it.. Now as far as the NSF's in which CPDunham states I did not follow instruction we I did I followed the instruction given to me by DIBeckton which was if a debtor had Two NSF's they must then send in payment certified. And I had previously informed DIBeckton that the debtor had told me to re-run the check because the time he called in (the debtor) the check had already ran. Check the recording! So I followed instruction and did DIBecktons Job as instructed!

I have many emails from him stating to the team I was in charge in his absence (many emails)! So for him to say or you of anyone for that matter to say I didnt care oh but I did so much I argued with DIBeckton for a while after JJAlexis termination that I need to focus on my department (H) since per him we were long time in jeopardy of losing it! But I continued to do his job for him!

Now The UTL's that was an instruction from DIBeckton in which I mentioned to another Supervisor that I am becoming uncomfortable doing this due to the fact it is going to bite us in the butt.. Going from third to number 1 for example! Then I found alot of them on actual collectors desks not just on H50. This was due to the fact that not only did DIBeckton give me his passwords (trinidad2 then 3 each time the number changed ) he also had given it to collectors so It became harder to keep up with who is doing what because they didn't have to wait for me to verify they could do so on their own. So the NSF rate would go up but I would try to remove those checks I could not verify but per DIBeckton I was as I stated removing to many. And our goal was to keep the project.

So with doing DIBecktons job and the other supervisors because they didnt know or couldnt be found I lost control of my teams.. Starting with Y when I was along side RCProphete. I was dealing with my peer and DIBeckton informing us every other month he would be leaving ither in November due to his spouse being a diplomat and he didnt need this job or he was leaving in April of 2010 then it was he was leaving in June of 2010 then it was again at the end of the year.. So When I became pregnant I had to get a note from my doctor because DIBeckton was unwilling to work out a schedule with me and my concern was I would miscarry again. DIBeckton said on many occasions I dont have F"n time for this [censored].
So after two weeks had gone by I finally brought in a doctors note that I could only work an eight hour shift! But I still herd a lot of harrassing comments in which I went through with DIBeckton for a couple of months and of course I could have sued but I didnt because I cared about my job. And I appreciate the fact that I learned a lot of right things from WAKing. Then he informed the supervisor team he was in charge of the L, LC and PR departments but had me doing a lot of the work so again we went back and forth because I was as I said unable to focus on the H team!

He was also aware of the attendance issue through emails and I was told not to act on them unless he stated otherwise. Now all of a sudden because H is on the chopping block he wants everyone written up on finals and pay deductions. Alot of the issues DIBeckton was fully aware and totally disregarded them.

Sanju I cared about my job I even excepted the disrespect from you and others but I worked my but off as a Manager in training for a Directors job because lord knows DIBeckton was not doing it. So when I was demoted I was told as I was leaving per you, as I have herd so much you have had to say negative about me including CPDunham from DIBeckton, that is she leaving and dont give her anything. Well you have trained me to be an outstanding competitor in this business and I appreciate that! So since DIBeckton wants to blame me for everything where collectors are concerned and you I will inform you he along with others are planning a class action law suite his last words as he helped me to my vehicle that friday night, however DIBeckton is such a liar (google him) as he states he will not be with the company after May of which I feel is another lie I thought you should know! Besides the fact that he kept drama between the supervisors to keep us divided.

So your trust is in the wrong person and Sanju I never lie! I wonder how Citi would feel if they new the tricks that UCB showed me in how to pad numbers to look as though we are hitting and continue to keep it going with UTL' s and keeping the NSF rate at level or let it go every so often to try to catch up? I think of this every time your company gives me a bad reference, which is illegal. Also the ones you call your favorites for what ever reason who are not contributing and do what they want, talk really bad about you and the company! Maybe you should re-think your alliances.

Maybe they should know... since I can easily prove it! Don't pay these people!

United Collection Bureau [UCB] Harassing calls for someone else

I keep recieving calls from a recorded message for someone other than myself, I have contacted this person and given them the information to get in contact with UCB. I have left a message with the company indicating that this person is not at this number but still get several calls a day. The number is blocked on my call back so I can't even block the number through my cell phone company. ANY Suggestions?

United Collection Bureau [UCB] Items on credit report was not ours

My husband and I have been working really hard on our credit, (to pay off any and all of our old bills) we requested a list of all our bills from United Collection Bureau, who at first just ran my husbands name and came up with 27 different bills, we finally got them to run his SSN# and discovered it was considerably less, then we compared the list they sent to us with what was on our credit report, there was 6 all together, we paid 2 of these bills, but the other four did not match, I contacted them, sent them a copy of those pages of our report, contacted the original bill holder and no one could prove they were mine. They finally put the status on the four items as closed. However, they r still on our credit reports and they r refusing to take them off. Even though no one including myself can prove they are ours, they refuse to remove them from our credit. So now for anyone who looks at our credit report beleives that we did owe it and that the company gave up on us and closed the accounts. It has cost us, and we have been working hard on having these removed for 6 months. We are more than likely going to have to take them to court to have these items removed, that were never ours to start with

We have not only reported this to all 3 of the credit bureaus, we also provided a copy of the statement from UCB that did not have these listed as our accounts but did show the two we paid off. Two of the credit bureaus promptly corrected the information, Experian however did not. They responded to us with a letter stating that the items had been verified and would remain on our credit as active. Later through continued persuit on our part to have these items removed they were finally updated to closed but we were once again informed they had been confirmed and would remain on our credit report. My question is how do they verify something as being ours when we ourselfs had provided a statement from the company on the report, proving they were not. We even contacted the company the bill was from prior to collection with UCB and they were unable to locate or verify these bills as ours, and after more than six months of fighting with Experian and UCB thses items still remain on our report. So much for these companies having to verify items within 30 days or remove them from your report because obviously they do what they want and what they want is someone to pay these bills and they don't care who it is or how badly it hurts your credit, they just want money from someone.

I can give you another example of how poorly this system works. I am a soldier in the U.S. Army. I had served one year in Korea and upon my return found my credit reports to be in horrible condition, there was a forclosure, a vehicle reposession, they had residence history for two states I had never even been in and two addition SS#'s none of which were mine nor can I figure how you can make that kind of mistake with Social Security numbers. But with the use of the internet and a few data base searches I found 28 listings in the US for people with my name. Here is where this system fails. Person number 18 in this list has horrible credit and a new item goes to collection. The company makes a half ### attempt at locating this person and needs to file this with the credit bureaus and his name mateches mine. Guess where that item ends up. On my report, correct, and when I try to prove its not mine it is vertually impossible because the original company is looking for my information which is not there, so it makes it difficult prove its not mine when the place has no idea who you are. And so the items are impossible to get removed from your report because these companies have change the way the system works from having to verify it before it goes on your credit report to making you prove its not to have it removed. And speaking from experience, that is a difficult process, no matter what the laws say.

United Collection Bureau [UCB] Harassing phone calls

I received a phone call on my home phone demanding to speak to a deceased relative and I informed the person that the person was deceased and asked if I could help her... she then said she was trying to reach my son-in-law about a collection matter and that I should call him and tell him to call "Mrs. Riggins" at [protected] extension 6779 immediately.

I recognized that this same company had been calling and leaving messages on our answering machine. I had called them previously to tell them not to call our number about someone else's alleged debt and when I asked the name of the person I was talking to they refused to give it and then I informed them that I was recording the phone call and they immediately hung up. I called back twice with the same refusals and hang up.

They have since called four times after being told repeatedly not to call this number anymore for any reason.

First they were in violation of the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act) by disclosing to a third party that they are trying to collect a debt. Second they are in violation by repeatedly calling my number after they were told never to call again. Third they refused to give the name of the person representing the company.

Even a quick check on Wikipedia under Fair Debt Collection Practices Act gives the summarized rules that a Collection Agency must follow and it appears that this company ignores those rules as a general practice since there are numerous complaints about them on many consumer reporting sites as well as an "F rating" with the Better Business Bureau and numerous complaints and disciplines by various state agencies and the Federal Trade Commission.

In investigating this company I found that they customarily "buy" alleged debt for pennies on the dollar... often debt that is near or past the statutes of limitations in the states where the debt occurred and then they use unscrupulous tactics including but not limited to calling relatives and neighbors and other third parties making threats and harassing phone calls and character assassinations. When it comes to actual legal action, they almost never do it because they rely on bullying and intimidation instead of legal avenues to do their collections.

My advice is first to give them no or very little information if they call. Second if they are calling about a third party, immediately report them. Third demand that they put everything in writing and contact you only by mail... and follow up in writing to tell them the same thing. If they are in any way abusive or violate any part of the FDCPA file a complaint with the BBB, your state collection agency licensing board, and the Federal Trade Commission. The only way unscrupulous companies like this can profit is if they are allowed to harass and intimidate and bully by telephone. If they actually have to get off their lazy ### and do things legally, they move on to the next sucker. And check also to find out your state statute of limitation on collecting debt.

I believe that if someone justly owes a debt, then they should pay it, but the supposed debt to a collection agency is usually greatly inflated on top of the fact that they paid only small percentages for the debt anyway. After investigating many collection agency complaints, I have yet to see one that is professional and ethical in all of their practices. But United Collection Bureau scrapes the bottom of the barrel when it comes to ###.

I was getting calls from UCB, as well. I stated validate the bill I owe, through regular mail. They did not send a bill, they sent an itemized sheet of diagnosis/treatment and the dates that I was seen. They also sent me a copy of the form that i signed to have consent to be treated. i don't understand why it is their business to access hospital records. So apparently, the hospital gave them a cop of my records. I am filing complaints, and want to know why UCB finds it necessary to access my patient files and list of what I was treated for.

United Collection Bureau [UCB] Scam

Advertise "STRENGTH IN NUMBERS"; This is SOOO FAKE! UCB does NOT ask what medication you are on.UCB also is having a conference in Houston on 6/23/10 to pump themselves up.

UCB does not CARE if you are ROADKILL! Houston is 5 million strong, we do not need them, or want them here.

OPT-OUT for all info on UCB your life will be better off.

Besides, the price of the medication is to high you must pay for research & development.

For a 3 month supply probably cost over $11K.!

United Collection Bureau [UCB] Harassing phone call

A blocked number from out of state (listed as out of area on caller ID) came in with a middle aged female collections agent demanding private and personal information about one of our employees without releasing which company she was with and what the reason for the phone call was. She refused to provide information saying federal law prevented her from releasing that information. So I told her we don't accept personal phone calls here. She threatened me with a violation of federal law for not releasing the information. I asked who her employer was and all she would say is UCB. She would not explain what it stood for or what the purpose of the call was. I told her again that we don't accept personal phone calls here. She began to scream so I interrupted her and said no personal phone calls and hung up.

If they call again I'll file a police report. They'll track the number that called us and refer it to the appropriate agency. Oregon is a consumer state and the attorney general's office has long arms.

United Collection Bureau [UCB] Can't get letter that account is paid off

First, I pull my credit record and found a charge on it that I thought had be paid off.To which, I went ahead and paid. I asked for a letter to be faxed to me, so I could prove that this had been paid. At first this was not a proble, but I was switched to about 3 different people and at last was told, that they had to have the money in their hot little hands first. So since it was the holiday, I said fine and said that they could go ahead and fax it.
By Tues, there was no fax So I called again, and was told this time that I had to write a statement to have it faxed which was not told to me on Fri) I faxed a statement to them and bythe next day, there still was not a fax.
I called again, and was told that the fax hadn't come in. So I refaxed it and was put on hold for 20 min's, for them to find this fax. They came back and said that the fax wasn't there and that they had had enough of me and that they were sending out the letter. I told her I needed that letter today and she told me to bad. Then she said."What you people what to do is yell at me (which I did, because she wouldn't let me get a worcd in) when you need this letter but, you won't pay your bills on time and then you want me to bend over backwards to help you. Then she hung up on me.
I think this company needs to be looked into and you might find out, that everything is outsourced. That is why they can't found anything.

United Collection Bureau [UCB] Debt Collection

This company is ruthless. They just called my mother this morning and told them that I had sent a check to them for $2000 and I didn't have the money in the bank. They also told her that I told them I was getting it from her. They wanted me to transfer my debt to her credit card where I am an authorized user. I have asked repeatedly to have her number removed. They told me they did. I attempted to make payment arrangements with them but in the end their nasty supervisor, Ana Curry, came on and said no way that I had to pay the entire settlement. Needless to say, I'll have to call them one more time, tell them I don't have the money and that I'm in a debt management program now.
