I am filling complaint regarding what I believe to be an improper and predatory tow performed by Bumper to Bumper & Recovery on 1/14/2026 at Capital Crossing Apt. Suitland MD.
The vehicle as legally parked at approximately 8:06pm. According to the towing company, the vehicle was towed at 8:22 pm, just 17 minutes after parking. Parking for the vehicle was paid at 8:47 pm, 25 minutes after the tow, and I have documentation confirming this payment.
After retrieving my vehicle, I was informed that parking must be paid before parking. However, this requirement is not stated anywhere on the posted parking signage at the property. The signage does not clearly indicate that payment must be made prior to parking. nor does it explain what constitutes authorization in a way that would justify immediate towing.
Because the tow occurred within a very short timeframe, without clear signage explaining the alleged requirement, I believe this tow was conducted in a predatory manner designed to generate revenue rather than enforce parking rules. As a result, I was forced to pay $175 to retrieve my vehicle.
