On Friday, June 13th, 2025, I was traveling in Italy with EF Go Ahead tours. I purchased travel insurance before leaving California on this trip. On this date, my passport was stolen. I contacted my travel guide and EF representatives. My flight home was on Saturday, June 14th. I was not able to leave without a passport and had to wait until Monday June 16th to obtain a new passport from the Embassy in Rome. I was told to save all of my receipts as this should be covered under your travel insurance. I was able to book a flight home on June 17th. I then starting submitting my information to Broadspire. I was asked to provide my trip itinerary, a copy of my flight purchased to come home to California, and transportation receipts. I did as requested yet had minimal results from anyone without extensive phone calls. Then in September I received a letter stating they would reimburse my passport expense but nothing more. I send a dispute letter with no response. This is unacceptable. Why would I be asked for all of these followup receipts if there was never any intention of paying them. I COULD NOT LEAVE, AT NO FAULT OF MY OWN. NO DIFFERENT THAN BEING INJURED OR SICK. This is what trip insurance is for! Do not purchase insurance from this company!
Claimed loss: $2,224.41
Desired outcome: Pay my expenses!
