Brittany Ferries review: Cancellation of ferry

We booked our trip to France with Brittany Ferries in good faith knowing that the Barfleur Ferry crossing would cease at the end of October.

The outbound trip is Portsmouth to St Malo on Wednesday 7 October.
The Inbound trip Cherbourg to Poole for Monday 12 October.

We booked three nights hotel stay in Dinan and 1 night in Granville for the Sunday night. We also booked a round of golf for two people at Granville Golf Club on Monday 12 October.

We were appalled to find through our local paper that the Cherbourg to Poole service would finish on Sunday 11 October. We were given no notification, and your staff were surprised when we telephoned that this had ‘leaked’ out through the press. I would have thought your customers should have been informed first.

We have had to change our plans totally and return on the Sunday evening ferry as any alternative was not acceptable. (booking XK20208)

We are now out of pocket for
The Ibis Hotel in Granville which was refundable EUR 109.67 (there was no reason to think we would not be staying )
Two playing rounds at Granville Golf Club EUR 160

We are so shocked at Brittany Ferries for the way you have treated your loyal membership customers. These are holidays you are ruining for customers when funds are very tight and holidays a rarity.
