Boats.net Disappointing Customer Service Experience with Boats.net: Delayed Credit and Lack of Communication

I recently had an experience with Boats.net that left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. I ordered a part and paid extra for FedEx overnight Saturday delivery shipping. Unfortunately, FedEx made a mistake and I had to go pick up the part at the local distribution point, which was a 30-minute drive away. I contacted FedEx and they agreed to issue me a credit for the shipping charges, but the credit had to go through Boats.net.

I reached out to Boats.net three times over the course of three weeks to try to get my credit. The first time I called, I was told that a supervisor had to approve the credit before it would appear on my charge and that the supervisor would call me back. However, I never received a call back. The second time I called, I was told that a credit had been approved while I was on the phone and that it should show up in a few days. Unfortunately, on my third call, I found out that Boats.net hadn't even contacted FedEx to confirm that they would issue a credit to them.

Now, I'm left waiting for the supervisor to call me back to let me know if I'll get the credit and how much the credit will be. This kind of delay and lack of communication is frustrating and unacceptable. I won't be using Boats.net for anything in the future.

Overall, I was disappointed with my experience with Boats.net. While I understand that mistakes can happen, the lack of follow-up and communication on their end was frustrating. I hope that they can improve their customer service in the future to prevent situations like this from happening again.

Boats.net Terrible Customer Service and Stock Issues: A Warning About [Company Name]

This place is just terrible. I talked to this guy in customer service and he was a total idiot. I mean, I'm surprised he even knew how to use the phone. But yeah, they do have low prices, so I decided to give them a shot. Big mistake.

Turns out they hardly have anything in stock. So if you order something, you have to wait for them to special order it from their suppliers. And they don't even tell you which items are in stock on their website. It's like they're stuck in the past or something.

So I called ahead for my last order and asked if they had a couple items in stock. The salesperson (who was the same idiot I talked to before) said they could get them in 2-3 days. But then I kept getting notifications that the shipping date was getting pushed back further and further. By the time they were supposed to arrive, I didn't even need them anymore. So I asked to cancel one item from my order. And that's when they hit me with a restocking fee that was like 20% of the item cost!

I'm never buying from them again. Seriously, don't even bother.

Boats.net Terrible Customer Service and Accounting Issues at Boats.net

Boats.net was not a good experience for me. I placed an order and waited for the email confirmation that the site said I would receive, but it never came. I waited a couple of days and decided to reorder my items, this time with email confirmation. I also called customer service to make sure everything was okay. They told me that only one order was placed, but I knew that there were two. I didn't have the confirmation number for the first order, so they asked for it. I explained that I didn't have it, but they didn't seem to understand or care about my problem. I gave up trying to explain and just waited for my orders to arrive.

Two weeks later, I received both shipments at my door. I called customer service again to explain the problem, but they told me to just put an "r" at the end of the order and ship it back. It took two months for my credit to come through, and then they charged me a restocking fee for a mistake that their site caused.

The customer service at Boats.net was terrible when it came to order information, and they clearly don't know how to navigate their own accounting software. I was very disappointed with my experience and will never order from them again. Instead, I will order directly from Evinrude, who has faster shipping and better service.

Boats.net Disappointing Experience with Boats.net: Delayed Shipping and Poor Customer Service

I had a recent experience with Boats.net that left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. I needed some parts urgently for my boat and my local Evinrude dealer told me it would take 10 days to get them. So, I decided to try Boats.net and paid extra for next day Fed Ex shipping.

However, after waiting for 7 days and receiving multiple auto-generated emails from the website, I still hadn't received my parts. I contacted their customer service and was given excuse after excuse. I even tried emailing the manager, but received no reply.

Finally, I received an email from customer service saying that most of my parts were in and would be shipped that day. But, three days later, I still hadn't received anything. When I contacted customer service again, they blamed shipping for the delay.

In the end, it took 14 days for me to receive my parts, despite paying for next day shipping. And to make matters worse, they only had some of the parts I needed, so I still had to go to my local dealer to get the rest.

I wish I had read reviews of Boats.net before using them. Every review or blog I've seen tells a similar story of terrible customer care. I strongly advise against using Boats.net and suggest finding a more reliable supplier for your boating needs.

Boats.net Disappointing Experience with Boats.net: Lack of Inventory Management and Communication

I recently had an experience with Boats.net that left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. I placed an order for some parts and received a confirmation email stating that the parts would be shipped on July 9th, 2018. However, when I called on July 11th to check on the status of my order, I was informed that the parts I had ordered were actually out of stock and would be shipped that day.

I was surprised and frustrated by this news, as the website had indicated that all of the parts were in stock when I placed my order. I decided to call again on July 13th to see if there had been any progress, but was told that the parts were still not available and were on a national back order.

I couldn't help but feel disappointed by this experience. In today's world of advanced technology, I would have expected Boats.net to have a better handle on their inventory and be able to provide more accurate information to their customers. It would have been helpful if they had reached out to me to let me know that my order would be delayed, rather than leaving me to call and check on the status myself.

If you're in a situation where you need parts for a customer's job, I would advise you to wait until you have the parts in hand before giving a completion date. Based on my experience, it seems that Boats.net may not be able to provide accurate estimates for when orders will be fulfilled. I also learned the hard way that it's important to read the fine print - the date of shipment in the order confirmation email is only an estimate and is subject to change.

Overall, I was disappointed by my experience with Boats.net and will likely look elsewhere for parts in the future. While I understand that delays and back orders can happen, I would have appreciated more transparency and communication from the company throughout the process.

Boats.net Disappointing Customer Service Experience with Boats.net: Delays and Miscommunication

I had a recent experience with Boats.net that left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. I placed an order for a part and selected FedEx ground shipping. However, after five days, I received an email that did not show that the part had been shipped. I decided to call and inquire about the status of my order. The person who answered the phone informed me that they had just received the part and would be shipping it that day. I explained that I needed the part urgently and requested that it be shipped via 2-day express. The person added the charges for 2-day express to my bill.

However, after seven days, the part had still not arrived. I called Boats.net again to inquire about the delay. To my surprise, I was informed that the part had been shipped via ground instead of 2-day express. I was frustrated and disappointed, and I requested a refund for the extra shipping charges. The person I spoke to informed me that they would have to get the manager to process the refund. However, when I was transferred to the manager's extension, I was greeted with a recording. I called back and requested to speak to someone directly, but I was transferred to the same recording again.

Although this may seem like a trivial issue, I could tell from the first phone call that the person who answered was not friendly or helpful. I felt like they were intentionally causing delays and inconvenience. Additionally, I don't believe that the manager needed to be involved in processing a simple refund for shipping charges. I was disappointed with the lack of professionalism and customer service at Boats.net.

Overall, my experience with Boats.net was not positive. I would not recommend this site to others, as I did not feel like a valued customer. The delays and miscommunication were frustrating, and the lack of accountability and customer service was disappointing.

Boats.net Disappointed with Boats.net's Lack of Communication and Honesty Regarding Backordered Items

I recently made an order for two Evenrude low pressure fuel pumps from Boats.net. Unfortunately, I was disappointed when the items never arrived. I waited for a month before I decided to contact their customer support team. They informed me that the items were on back order, which was not communicated to me when I made the order. They assured me that the items would be available soon.

Two months later, I decided to contact their online text support. Initially, I received a response, but when I provided my order number, they said they needed to check into it. I waited for a response but never received one. I had to call their customer support team again, and they answered relatively quickly. I received excellent customer service from them, and they informed me that the items were still on back order, and they did not know when they would be available. I decided to cancel the order this time.

It has been three months since I made the order, and my boat has been out of commission. When I made the order, I was informed that the items were in stock. If I had known that they were on back order, I would have purchased them elsewhere instead of wasting my time. I understand that products and shipping are challenging right now, but I would appreciate more communication and honesty upfront.

Their text support is not helpful at all. After I canceled the order, I informed them that it was taken care of, and I immediately received a response back saying, "ok thanks for contacting text support! Agent has left the chat!" This response was not helpful at all.

Overall, I am disappointed with my experience with Boats.net. I appreciate the excellent customer service I received from their customer support team, but I would have appreciated more communication and honesty upfront. I hope they can improve their services in the future.

Boats.net Unacceptable Customer Service from Boats.net - Find Another Supplier for Your Parts

I put in an order on Boats.net and all the parts I wanted were supposed to be "In stock - ships within 24 hours." I even paid extra for fast shipping because I needed the parts right away. But then I got an email a few days later with an order number but no shipping info. I went back to the website to check and saw that one of the items was now listed as available 3 weeks later. I was able to find that part from another supplier, so I tried to call at 3pm to cancel just that part so the rest of my order could ship quickly. But when I called, I got a message saying the phones were off for the day because they were too busy. That's a huge red flag, if you ask me.

I called back first thing the next morning and got another message saying I was #61 in line and my wait time on hold would be an hour and a half. Really? That's ridiculous. So I decided to send an email to try and cancel the one part so my order could actually ship. But it took 3 days to get a reply, and when I did, they said the part I wanted to cancel had just arrived but one of the other parts I ordered was suddenly on back order. It was so frustrating.

In the end, I just canceled the entire order and found a more reputable supplier for my parts. The customer service from Boats.net was completely unacceptable. I wish I had read some reviews before I ordered from them. Save yourself the trouble and find another place to get your parts.

Boats.net Disappointing Experience with Boats.net: Delayed Shipping and Back-Ordered Parts

I bought some parts for my water pump on Tuesday 8/9 from boats.net. After I placed my order, I saw that one of the parts was back-ordered until Friday. It was in stock when I placed my order, so I was a bit disappointed. I talked to customer service on Wednesday 8/10 through live chat, and they told me that the part had to be shipped from the manufacturer and should be in on Thursday. They also said that I could overnight the part for Friday 8/12 delivery for $15.

However, the part didn't arrive on Thursday, so I called on Friday. They told me that they were waiting for the truck to arrive, so I asked about setting up overnight delivery. But since it would be Saturday 8/13, they wanted to charge me $85. I declined.

On Monday, 8/15, I talked to Jonathan through live chat, and he told me that the part had been shipped from Mercury and should be at boats.net on Tuesday 8/16. I talked to a different Jonathan on Tuesday, 8/16, and he told me that my order had shipped in full. Later that evening, I received an email from boats.net stating that everything but the back-ordered part had shipped and it wouldn't be available until the next Friday, 8/19. That's a whopping 10 days after I ordered it in the middle of boating season.

I finally cancelled the order for the part and paid extra shipping from another company to get the parts on 8/18 so I can go boating this weekend. I was really disappointed with my experience with boats.net. I don't think I'll ever use them again. It was a horrible experience.

Boats.net Disappointing Experience with Boats.net: Missing Spark Plugs and Poor Customer Service

I gotta say, I had a pretty rough experience with boats.net. I ordered 6 spark plugs, but when my package arrived, I only got one. I was pretty upset about it, so I reached out to their customer service team via email. But let me tell you, it's been a real struggle to get any kind of satisfaction from them. They keep giving me the runaround, and now they've stopped responding to my emails altogether.

When I first went to their website to order my spark plugs, I searched for my part number (QC12PEPB) and the page that came up clearly said "QC12PEPB Spark Plug, 6/Box" in two different places. It was right there in the title of the page and in big, bold letters on the main part of the page. But after I complained about only receiving one spark plug, they changed the description on the website to say "PRICED PER PLUG". I know for a fact that this wasn't there when I made my purchase, and I feel like they're trying to cover their tracks now that I'm calling them out on it.

Even now, they still have "Spark Plug, 6/Box" in three different places on the website. I think they need to take that down to avoid confusing other customers in the future, but they're telling me they can't do it. I don't buy it for a second.

Honestly, I don't think boats.net handled this situation well at all. They won't make things right by fixing the issue on their website and sending me the rest of my spark plugs. And to top it all off, they've stopped communicating with me altogether. That's just not professional.

Boats.net Malfunctioned part, delaying full refund ($1,655.08)

Purchased a central engine control for a Suzuki 140 HP from boats.net Once the part was received installed in engine. Engine starts - all seems fine. Then take the boat on the water the engine is stalling anything more than 3/4 throttle. Never a problem before. I call a marine engine technician to check out the boat and part. He takes an identical part off another boat for the test. Take the boat on the water. Stalled at 3/4 throttle. Tries again and stalls again. He places the part he brought from another engine (simple plug in) and the engine runs fine full throttle. Double checked and technician checked the boats.net part and it failed again. The part he used to test the engine works fine. I contact boats.net. I return the part per their directions. Arrives on Sept. 25, 2020 according to tracking. They claim they sent out another part by UPS but it was refused. Untrue. People at that address are there 24/7. No UPS undeliverable slip. I contact the company for a full refund. The do nothing. NOTHING. They have $1, 655.08 and have nothing. AND I paid the engine tech $200 USD to determine the part is malfunctioning. Do NOT do business with this company no ethics.

Boats.net Delivery of ordered part

I ordered a part for our boat with guaranteed 2 day shipping. Now it's going to be here in 4 - 5 days. Very very Unacceptable and angry. The whole reason we chose expedited shipping was to get it here for the weekend.
Now I cannot get ahold of anyone, I was on hold for over 20 minutes just to find out that they had closed 10 minutes after I had been put on hold.

Boats.net Bad experience

I have purchased some plugs from this website and waited ages for my order. When it finally arrived three plugs were missing so I went online and contacted Boats customer service. Their rep said that these plugs were no longer in stock.
I asked for a partial refund and they said I'll get it as soon as possible.
5 days later I asked them about my money and they claimed they already refunded me! The point was that I never received anything.

Boats.net Took my money and never delivered order

I called www.boats.net and made an order. The person I spoke to said that my order was successfully placed and then I made a payment.
On the estimated date my order did not show up so I called again and got nothing but empty promises! Every time I called them they claimed I'll get my parts anytime soon, but weeks passed and there was no sign of my order.
When I demanded my money back they ignored me and said that I have to be patient. I totally disgusted with Boats and will never buy anything from them again!

Not so fast. They accepted my order as a "free shipping" under their terms. However, when it came time ship it, they wanted to charge me $130 extra. The rep i spoke to...

Boats.net Poor customer service/shipping

Ordered repair parts for my outboard motor on 3/15/14 from the boats.net website. Received confirmation email the same day that the order had been received and was awaiting shipment. On 3/18/14, money was debited from my credit card to their account. Same day (3/18/14) received an email/itemized bill from boats.net that all items ordered were in stock awaiting shipment with a note at the top stating; Your order will ship on Thursday, March 20, 2014. I have received no further emails since then. I called their 877 number for customer service on Friday, March 21st asking for a status of my order. Was informed by the CS rep that I spoke to named Crystal that one of my items in the order still needed to be shipped from Mercury marine and once it was received my order would ship on Monday, March 24th. Nothing further received since then. No confirmation of shipment, no email stating my item was on back order. I called them back again yesterday, March, 25th, spoke to CS rep named Robert. He stated the same thing as before. My one item was still awaiting arrival from Mercury marine. I asked him why would I have been told that my order would ship on Monday, the 24th? His response was "I don't know why she (Crystal) would have told you that" I further asked if my partial order could be shipped while waiting on this one item and Robert said he would do that for me and send me a confirmation email. Now it's Wednesday morning, 26th of March, still no confirmation email, still no update on status of order, still nothing here after 11 days since the items were originally ordered. I feel like they have my money and don't really care when, or if I ever get the items ordered. I did some checking and boats.net is owned by the Outdoor network LLC. I sure hope no one else has had this much of a problem with the. 11 days and nothing shipped is ridiculous in today's world.

Boats.net Forever Backordered / Not Informed

I ordered 4 parts from Boats.net on July 10th, 2013. Their website said no mention of backorder status. I then received an e-mail saying they were backordered and expected to ship on July 16th. Late but OK. No update at all. On July 17th, I called since their website was still showing the 16th. The lady on the phone said the expected date from the supplier was September. Yep, September. No e-mail, no phone call, nothing. I live in MA. By then, the boat will not even be in the water.

Pathetic, just pathetic.

Please, never use this business. Look at all these complaints. This company should be shut down.

The web site says the following...
"The item must be unused, in original packaging, include all tags and

not meet these requirements will be refused by us and returned to you at
your expense. "

"OEM and aftermarket parts may be returned to Boats.net up to 30 days

and December to allow for holiday giving."

Was it over 30 days?

Ordered a water pump parts kit for my Evinrude boat motor. I was assured by there tech people it included the water pump housing. When it arrived the housing was not part of the repair kit. Calling them back, they told me I had to order it extra. I could have ordered the kit from ebay for much less money including the housing. They refused to do anything about it. Very poor customer service. Stay away from this site!

Boats.net They carry virtually no stock

Just awful. Guy I talked to in customer service was a complete idiot, I'm surprised he even knew which end of the phone receiver to speak into.

Yes--they have low prices. But what they don't mention is that they carry virtually no stock--so anything you order will have to be special ordered from the suppliers. Is it really that hard to include information on their web catalog for which items are in stock? Seriously, it's like being transported back to 1999 web shopping.

Knowing this, I called ahead for my most recent order and asked their salesperson (i.e., village idiot referred to above) whether a couple items were in stock. He mumbled 'we could get them in 2-3 days'. Over the next 48 hrs, I received several notices informing me that the shipping date was pushed back progressively later and later. At that point, the items would no longer be of use for me, so I requested that one particular item be removed from my order. That's when they hit you with the 'restocking fee' (which is ~20% of the item cost!).

Never again. Seriously. Just don't do it.
