On November 18, I signed a contract with Bluenergy, a home solar system company (aka Guardian Solar LLC). The sales person did a good job showing me the product, but I felt rushed into signing the contract. I told him I needed time to think about it, but he insisted on me signing it and said I would have three business days to cancel. However, he never mentioned that there would be a penalty (3% of the contract) if I decided to cancel. I changed my mind and in January 2022, I informed the company that I didn't want to continue with the project because it was taking longer than promised, and I was dealing with some family issues. In a text conversation with the sales representative, when I explained that I was no longer interested in the project, I received a reply saying that the project was too far ahead and couldn't be cancelled, which I didn't think was the right way to respond to my decision. No customer should feel pressured or threatened to do business. Additionally, when I visited their portal, it only showed 1 out of 10 steps completed (agreement signature), not as far ahead as he mentioned in the text reply. This makes me feel like I can't trust this company. First, because the sales person never mentioned the penalty during the contract signing, which I find a little unprofessional. And second, because I was told the project was too advanced to cancel, but in reality, the only thing that had been done was the contract signature on 11/18, as mentioned above. Now I'm being charged $877.20, which I find completely unfair to pay. So I kindly request the ComplaintsBoard.com to step in and help me resolve this issue.
