I am extremely disappointed with the Better Business Bureau and how they handled my business account.
Despite multiple documented requests, the BBB refused to temporarily freeze or restrict my account while clearly false and disputed complaints were under review. These complaints included statements from disgruntled former workers and individuals with no valid contractual relationship, which directly contradicts BBB’s own published policies.
Because BBB did not freeze or temporarily restrict my account, these complaints were allowed to remain publicly visible and were indexed across the internet, falsely claiming that I scammed customers, left work unfinished, and that police reports existed—none of which are true. These false statements have caused serious reputational harm and directly impact my ability to conduct business.
Even more concerning, personal information about the owner of my company was allowed to remain public, despite repeated requests for protection and clear policy language stating that such information should not be disclose especially about a criminal past.
BBB promotes itself as a neutral organization that enforces fairness, accuracy, and policy compliance. In my experience, those standards were not upheld. Communication was slow or nonexistent, evidence was ignored, and harmful content remained public while disputes were unresolved.
This situation has gone beyond simple complaints—it has allowed false and misleading allegations to damage my professional reputation and business standing. Based on my experience, business owners should be cautious and fully understand that BBB policy enforcement may not be applied consistently or as advertised.
