Rich went Above and Beyond for Us! We Will Not Forget Him! And Hope He Gets More Positive 5 Star Ratings!

I went to Auto Medics in Joliet, Illinois to get a new motor put in, and after they put it in the car, it drove fine for some hours. However, I had to take it back because they said another part on the motor went bad. I paid for that repair, but the car still continued to act funny. So, I took it back again, and they informed me that another part on the motor is bad. I asked them why these things are going bad on a new motor, and that's when the guy started cussing me out. I didn't know what to do, but unfortunately, the car doesn't work after spending $6000.

On January 24, 2022, Auto Medics towed my 2013 Malibu to their shop because my car wouldn't start. Later that day the representative called me and told me that it was the starter and he would charge me $778.60 which included the starter priced at $425.38, 1 hour of labor priced at $115, tow priced at $109, and taxes. I called Napa Auto parts and Auto Zone to inquire about the cost of a starter and they quoted me $235 and $245 respectively. I called him back to ask why he was charging me $425 for the starter and he said the cost of the starter was $260 and he had to mark it up so that he can make a profit. I asked him if he could give me a discount since I have been a long time customer of his and he agreed to reduce the price to $686.60. He called me later and said that the car still did not start with a new starter and that I needed a new engine. He said he had removed the new starter and had put back the old starter and would now charge me 2 hours of labor and the tow, which brought my new total to $339.00. However, when my husband went to get the car on 1/26/22 and paid the $339 and pulled it back home, we noticed that the starter was not installed and it was just placed on the passenger side floorboard and the bolts were missing. On 1/27/22, I checked my bank account and noticed that he had charged my account $339 twice. That morning, I went to the shop to inquire about the bolts and why he charged me for 2 hours of labor and didn't even install the old starter back. He got upset and started yelling at me and started yelling profanities at me and kicked me out. I went back inside to notify him that he had charged my account twice, so I am waiting to see if he refunds me $339. I am very upset about the way he treated me and concerned that he charged me for 2 hours of labor instead of the 1 hour that was quoted and did not even install the starter. It is unfair and clearly a deceptive practice. I feel like I was blatantly scammed out of money and treated horribly. I believe 1 hour of labor is fair, not two!
