Bought a brand-new ASUS Wifi mesh node directly from ASUS website. I attempted setup approximately 8 times, and each time the node would report a great connection, and promptly fail to connect. Called ASUS support and found that Level 1 was not helpful for much besides telling you where the reset button was. It was difficult to hear, since support tech was obviously at a loud party, and didn't have the sense to go somewhere quiet. Requested level 2 support, who seemed to also be at a loud party, and with the same lack of common sense. About an hour in, I was being asked the same questions over and over, and repeatedly put on hold to "music" which just repeated how "great ASUS was". L2 tech noted he would escalate the issue with "priority". 5 days later, I received an email requesting a dump of my router config and a log from the unreachable device. The config was provided. I called days later to follow-up, and support tech then tried to claim I had the device for 30 days. Requested an RMA, and was told it was against their policy to issue refunds. It didn't seem to matter that the product was never able to be used. Support techs seemed way more focused on wasting time vs. actual troubleshooting. Although very polite, they DO NOT listen to answers given to their questions, asking them repeatedly. Example: I stated 3 times that my router and mesh node were 5 ft apart and I could touch them both at the same time. I was then asked if there were walls in my office. What office does not have walls? Does their product not work in an office with walls? What ridiculous BS, these a$$ clowns desperately need 1) to use the products they "support" and 2) to learn how to troubleshoot beyong the reset button. Never again!
Recommendation: Don't buy these products - no support and no refund for defective items
