On my appointment with Pedro, my HVAC was deliberately damaged. I was in the kitchen right next to the door with the HVAC unit, and I heard him banging really loudly on something. I was very startled and no one has ever done this (banging) before, and I’ve lived in this home for almost eight years. When I asked him if everything was okay, he didn’t answer me and then strangely laughed a few seconds later.
After he left, there was no improvement; and the next tech they sent they waived the fee for since the AC wasn’t cooling. I paid over $400+ that day for the maintenance fee and supposed “visit” to fix my HVAC.
When the next tech came, he said there were holes in one of my coils and it was leaking. This problem was not there before Pedro arrived; which means he deliberately damaged the coil. It will cost thousands to fix. I am thinking of contacting a lawyer at this point because he thinks he got away with it. He also complained about his boss, about the cost of his tools costing him $12,000, and was really just very unprofessional. He vandalized my HVAC and in doing so, committed a crime. It is not the first time it’s happened, unfortunately. It has happened to other people in the world. Unfortunately he took advantage of me. I can’t imagine why someone would do something like this. I haven’t contacted the company yet because I doubt they will believe me or take responsibility for it. I’m going to find someone to look at it soon to document the damage.
Desired outcome: $3400+
