Apollo Hospitals review: Complaint against Ms. Anjusha – rude, disrespectful and humiliating behaviour at Apollo Cradle, Koramangala

I am extremely disappointed and hurt by the way we were treated by Ms. Anujasha from the Billing Department at Apollo Cradle, Koramangala.

We visited the hospital to see our family member who was admitted as a patient. We had not been informed in advance about any specific visitor timings or restrictions. Instead of politely explaining the hospital's policy, Ms. Anujasha spoke to us in a very rude, aggressive, and disrespectful manner and started shouting at us.

We completely understand that hospitals have rules and protocols, and we are willing to follow them. However, there is a big difference between explaining a policy and humiliating people while enforcing it.

The situation became even more upsetting when a bill was provided to my brother, who is the patient's husband, in soft copy. I simply requested a printed/hard copy of the bill so that we could properly verify the details before making payment. Instead of politely addressing the request, she again spoke to us in an aggressive and disrespectful manner and repeatedly referred to "hospital protocol."

What was particularly humiliating was the manner in which she spoke in front of others, including making remarks to the effect of “I respect you and your wife, but I cannot answer such attendants. Tell him not to come and talk to me.”

We were not demanding special treatment or arguing with hospital rules. We were simply family members trying to visit our patient and verify a medical bill.

A reputed healthcare institution should ensure that patients and their families are treated with basic dignity, courtesy, patience, and respect, especially during an already stressful time.

This experience has seriously affected our trust and confidence in Apollo Cradle, Koramangala. Hospital protocol should never be an excuse for shouting at, insulting, or humiliating patients' family members.

I strongly request the management to look into this incident and take appropriate action to ensure that no other patient or family member has to experience such treatment.

Very disappointing experience. We came to the hospital as concerned family members and deserved nothing more than basic courtesy and respect.
