Fake reviews-I was scammed, lost my money.

The point is that I fell for the positive reviews I saw on this site. There are only positive reviews on Apartmentratings because they are deleting all the negative feedback. I left a review there and several minutes later it disappeared! I went online and found many complaints that negative reviews get erased! So please, do not believe anything you see on Apartmentratings.

Don't trust this website

Not sure you can trust this website. I don't and I have some reasons.

In a nutshell. I went through a negative experience and decided to share it with their readers. So I wrote a review. I saw it was published. But several days later they deleted it. I used no bad words, everything was correctly written, in general, it was a negative review written in a polite manner. I wrote a similar one again and it was deleted too.

What can I say? It's absolutely obvious that this website is full of positive but fake reviews. So I would never trust anything they publish there...

Desired outcome: Apartment shoppers should use Apartments.com and other sites like google, yelp, and facebook. Apartmentratings.com is a huge fraud.

ApartmentRatings Start stating true facts.

This organization has an F rating from the national Better Business site. Even in their information about themselves on the website, they "state' things like"they are the most visited" website for apt reviews. If you do a little research on them, as of Spring 2023-they are the 6th.

The organizations (or apt communicates) must be paying something to add positive reviews or remove negative ones. I tried to leave a review, and the website just took me in circles. One particular apt community had like a 100 5 star reviews. They were all from like one year. Where are the reviews from other years? The place has been in business for 40 years.

If you look at more trusted websites like yelp, facebook, google, and other apt sites, the highest rating for the apts was a 3 out of 5.

Other reviews here say the same thing-Something is fishy here.

Desired outcome: Start with that you are "not the most visited apt review site." As of spring 2023-you are the 6th.

ApartmentRatings The ratings of apartments listed are completely fraudulent

The place I used to live in used to have a rating of 18%. But in the last couple years many of the negative reviews - particularly the ones mentioning the bad insect problems - have mysteriously disappeared! Having lived there myself I know the insect problems were bad and the reviews were legit. Now the place has a 34% rating.

Don't trust this site at all - the ratings of apartments listed are completely fraudulent!

Also it's my belief that positive reviews are more likely to be the fraudulent ones than negative reviews. Management has a vested interest to keep their rating up and create fake reviews (especially if they have a crappy place). The average person who has bad experience will post one review - they're not going to recruit 10 friends to write negative reviews about the place. Management also is free to respond to reviews in the comments section to present their side of things.

ApartmentRatings Everything

DON'T MOVE HERE, THIS IS THE WORST OF THE WORST! RUN AWAY!

Run...Run... do not come close to this horrible place...

Management is NASTY! Specially the receptionist! They have a very bad attitude and do not hold up their end of the bargain, they are very rude and extremely unhelpful.
They charged all the security deposit for all sort of cleaning and more ... for no reason. A light bulb replacement is $10. Never heard when you were moving, need pay $55 for carpet cleaning because before you move out they want you to clean the carpet proffessionally, if not they will charge you. They just expect you flying instead of living in the apartment. Even the bathroom mirror charged $5 for cleaning. Even the windows they charged $45. because you supposed to clean the windows, bathroom floor, tub, toilet bowl-$45 but their aim is to never give your deposit back. So check your inspection sheet when you get it and check every little stain in the floor, in the drawers, everywhere!
I am a clean person, and I was cleaning after moving out. Still they put "Dirty" on all sorts of things, In fact, it much cleaner then when I first moved in!
So you can never expect to get security deposit back! Never live here!
I must say that out of my years of rental history Royal Crest was the WORST! PLEASE if you are reading this do NOT rent here if you can help it because it s not worth it!

ApartmentRatings I can't believe this website is legal

Terrible! - I can't believe this website is legal! Anyone can lie and say anything and say it anomously and nothing is verifed. At least with the better business bureau if someone complains a business can tell their side of the story. With this website anyone can say anything and not have to defend their position. This site should be taken down.

ApartmentRatings Bad service

I went to this site simply to review some tentant ratings regarding a couple of apartment complexes that I am considering. In order to read the full review, it was required that I create an account. A telephone number was required in order to complete the account, so I provided them with [protected] in order to avoid calls from locator services (phone number should be optional, not required). I then received an e-mail asking for a phone number, and responded as to why I did not wish to provide one at this time. The next thing I know, some guy named "Ty" with the apartment locator service has traced my location via my e-mail, and is calling me at work just to let me know that he found me. This behavior was unprofessional in the extreme and more than a little threatening. In what reality is this acceptable business etiquette?

ApartmentRatings Worst place to live ever

So they say they have brand new never lived in apartments for rent. So we leave our deposit a month before we are going to move in and our rent a week before we move in then the day we move in the a/c doesn't work the base boards are not on the doors don't have locks i had a list of 29 things that the manager needed to have complete and of coarse she says ok well we have lived here for a week now and the only thing we have had fixed was they gave us light bulbs for our stove and fridge and she told me she was done. This is the worst apartment i have ever lived in i cant believe how much it is and how nothing works. If anyone knows who owns this place let me know! O we have and infestation of hobo spiders that make webs on everything and not to mention they are poisonous and wasps in our parking stalls and stray cats that roam at night. It looks nice on the outside and it seems like it would be great but beware these people are slum lords and don't give a crap about anything but getting the rent from us. Don't move here no matter what they tell you or offer you. The manager is exactly what she looks like. Beware!

I want to warn all who are considering moving into these apartments. We moved in thinking we would be living in a smoke-free apartment since one of the major agreements on the lease was no smoking in or around the buildings. However, we were soon proven wrong. We had a neighbor who smoked inside of his apartment and the air flowed directly into ours leaving our rooms, clothes, bed, everything smelling like someone was standing inside our apt smoking 5 packs a day. We hoped our manager would do something about the situation (especially since multiple tenants we're affected and complaining about it) but frustratingly nothing ever happened (besides a warning given) and we lived in a smoke house for the remaining 4 months of our lease.

Also, we are very tidy and respectful people. We left out apartment in far better condition than when we moved it (when we moved in the baseboards were filthy, the tile was muddy, and the fridge was dirty). Yet we did not get one cent of our deposit back because it was "not clean".

I don't usually do this. In fact, this is my first time writing a negative review. But this experience was that awful that I really wanted to get my word out so that, in the very least, management might be motivated to be more proactive in keeping their apartments smoke free and taking care of their tenants.

Dont be their next sucker, just moved out of Hillrise Apartments in Cottonwood heights Utah in less than 3 weeks of living in that pos. I moved in on a weekend and gave my 30 days the following Monday. Worst place i have ever lived in 30 years and well over 30 locations around the world ! The list of problems grew every hour until i broke and demanded out of my lease, and was granted that. until They took half my deposit for a missing light bulb and some cleaning that apparently took hours after less than a 3 week residency. (i completely re-cleaned everything before i left) Everything seemed ok on the surface moving in, but shortly after that it started a downward spiral. I could hear my neighbor below me snoring at night even with a fan on that i use for white noise ! Everything was dirty, pee stains in the bathroom, dust on everything you couldnt see walking inside, stinky fridge, gross kitchen, missing lights, broken lights, the walls truly are paper thin and i could hear EVERY conversation and fight my neighbors had including their crying baby and epic loud TV ! I could go on for days, just trust me, dont move their .

We have lived in this area for over 7 years, during that time we have heard multiple complaints from people we know who live there... not just tenants, but managers too. Funny thing, we can think of about 10 different managers in a 7 year period... some have left overnight. We have heard they do everything they can to keep their tenants deposits. We rent an apartment in the area and it is so easy to rent... all we have to do is find someone in Hillrise whose lease is up, and we have a willing tenant.

Everything you have said is absolutely right. Hillrise Apartments in Cottonwood Heights should be avoided at all costs. Its usually not the managers fault as the owners try to get innocent and somewhat naive people to carry out their orders which are completely dishonest. They are slumlords.
