Amerisave Mortgage review: Service

Filled out one of those mortgage comparison tools in which they will send your loan to get quoted by several different lenders. Within minutes of submitting my phone received an onslaught of calls every hour upon the hour. I was working so couldn't answer. Later in the day after work i did answer. I gave them the same information i provided to other lenders and told them i was comparing offers. Thier loan officer who went by the name Jessica ran me through their process. During the process it came to a step where she asked me to put down 500.00. I told her i was comparing quotes and not looking to lock in with them. She stated and i quote " It is our intent to earn your business, If we do not earn your business the money will be refunded to you. So i proceeded and they provided their offer. Thier offer required an appraisal at the cost of an additional 750.00 , had higher closing costs and more fees. Quite naturally i chose to go with the other lender and informed Amerisave of the reasons i wasn't going forward with them. When i asked if they were going to refund the money, they all of a sudden when silent and do not respond to my requests. Weeks have gone buy and they did not honor their word. They kept my money. No other lenders charge their customers to get a quote from them. This is bad faith and Amerisave should be ashamed of themselves. A company that doesnt stand behind their word and or charge customers outrageous fees is not a company anybody should do business with. They scammed me out of 500.00...
