Afterpay Afterpay's Customer Service Fails to Help with Scam Purchase from Shein

So, I had a bit of a problem with Afterpay recently. I was trying to get some help with a purchase I made from Shein, which turned out to be a total scam. I ordered some wavy hair in a 4 pack, but what I got was a mess - 16, 18, 20, and 14 inches instead of what I actually ordered. I've been trying to get in touch with Shein for weeks now, but they're not responding to me at all.

So, I decided to reach out to Afterpay for some help. I sent them a message last night, but all I got back was a really rude response from a customer service rep named Diane. She was talking down to me like I was an idiot, and she basically told me that there was nothing they could do to help me. I was so frustrated - I work hard for my money, and I don't appreciate being treated like this.

Diane told me to file a complaint in the app, but when I tried to do that, it didn't work. The app kept telling me that it couldn't verify my identity, and then it locked up on me. I tried again this morning, but it still didn't work. So, I went to the Afterpay website to try to file a claim against Shein, but that didn't work either. I'm really starting to feel like Afterpay doesn't care about its customers at all.

Honestly, if you're not going to help people get refunds for purchases that aren't as described, then you shouldn't be in the business of accepting payments. It's just not right. And to make matters worse, there's no direct phone number to call, and emailing them takes forever. It's like they don't want to hear from us at all.

Afterpay Mixed Experience with Afterpay: Great for Payments, Terrible Customer Service

Afterpay is the bomb! I'm currently working on my Masters, so my paychecks aren't exactly ballin'. That's why I love using Afterpay - it's a great way to spread out payments and not have to pay full price upfront. I've used it to buy all sorts of things, from clothes to electronics, and it's always been a smooth process.

That is, until yesterday. I made a purchase and never received an email confirmation. I tried contacting Afterpay, but there was no phone number listed anywhere. I had to resort to emailing them, and after telling them I had already contacted the merchant twice, they told me I still needed to wait 14 days for a response. What the heck?! All I wanted was a confirmation number.

So I "cancelled" my order, but then got a call later in the day with the information I had been asking for. It turns out the first employee I talked to was just being lazy and gave me a generic answer instead of actually checking on my concerns. This created more work for the employee who actually did her job and retrieved the information.

To make matters worse, they called me back but there was no way for me to call them back. It was a total mess that took all day and countless emails to resolve. If they would just set up their phones, it would be so much easier for everyone involved.

Despite this frustrating experience, I still love using Afterpay and will continue to do so. I just hope they can get their act together and make it easier to contact them when there's an issue.

Afterpay Unsatisfactory Experience with Afterpay's Customer Service and Payment Claims

So, I had an experience with Afterpay that left me feeling a bit frustrated. They claimed that my last payment was overdue and that it was rejected due to insufficient funds on my card. However, I knew that wasn't true because the due date was still a few days away and I had enough money in my account. I reached out to Afterpay to complain and asked for evidence to support their claim. I wanted to take it up with my bank, but they didn't provide me with any proof.

Afterpay did waive the late fee, but it didn't make sense to me that they would increase my spending limit when I couldn't pay on time. It seems like they're trying to trick people into missing payments so they can take their money without violating consumer law. It's a sneaky tactic, so be careful if you decide to use Afterpay.

I wish they had been more transparent with me and provided the evidence I asked for. It's frustrating when companies don't take their customers seriously and refuse to provide proof of their claims. I hope they improve their customer service in the future.

Afterpay Afterpay Review: Downhill Since Being Sold - Poor Customer Service and Frustrating Experience

This company, Afterpay, started in Australia back in 2014. I joined them in Oz in 2015 and was a loyal customer for 8 years. However, I recently divorced from this mediocre company as of a few days ago. They USED to be great, particularly their customer service. If there was a problem you could ring them and get a friendly helpful person. But no more.

Apparently, the company was sold in 2021 to an overseas establishment, and it has been downhill since then for us, the loyal customers. The "customer service" is now permeated by rude, seemingly power-drunk dolts who have weird names and think that not answering emails makes them seem like the CEO of the Apprentice.

I had used Afterpay for 8 years, had some very large repayments made, up to 800.00 pmonth, and had never missed a single payment. Not once.

Recently, I had to change my email, no big deal. Afterpay turned this into an absolute Bold & Beautiful shindig. No answers to emails, having to prove over and over again who I was. When I could finally log in, all my information had been wiped along with the 3,000.00 credit line I have had for years. It was now 600.00, I sent an email asking why, and of course no answer.

I received an email later requesting proof that I had made payments to Afterpay. These dolts and boors are beyond help with IQ'S OF 0.1.

I deactivated my account and will never be back. User beware, this company ain't what it used to be.

It's a shame that Afterpay has gone downhill since being sold to an overseas establishment. The customer service used to be great, but now it's full of rude and unhelpful people. It's frustrating to have to prove your identity over and over again, and even more frustrating when they don't answer your emails. I had been a loyal customer for 8 years and had never missed a payment, but they still treated me poorly.

When I had to change my email, it turned into a big mess. They wiped all my information and reduced my credit line from 3,000.00 to 600.00 without any explanation. When I asked why, they didn't answer. It's ridiculous that they would treat a loyal customer like this.

I decided to deactivate my account and switch to PayPal pay in 4. It's been great so far. I hope that Afterpay can improve their customer service and treat their customers better in the future.

Afterpay Afterpay Review: Dodgy Service with Poor Customer Support and Payment Issues

Afterpay is a payment service that allows you to buy now and pay later. At first, it worked fine for me, but then I ran into some issues. I was trying to make a large purchase in-store and had the credit in my Afterpay account, but they kept trying to take out the full amount of the item, even though I had the correct amount for the first payment in two separate accounts. This caused my payment to be declined due to insufficient funds. I tried to contact their support team, but they were no help at all. They kept insisting that it was an issue with my bank, even though Afterpay still worked online. It was frustrating to go round and round in circles with them, and they didn't seem to understand what I was saying.

In the end, I gave up on using Afterpay in-store and just stuck to using it online. I've never had a late payment and currently have no orders left in Afterpay. However, I recently tried to use it again and was disappointed to find that my credit had been increased, but my payment was declined. I don't think I'll be using Afterpay again after this experience. It seems dodgy as hell, and when I tried to close my account, it was only deactivated, and they still had my information on file. I would advise anyone to avoid this service if possible, as you will likely get burnt.

Afterpay Afterpay Review: Constant Overcharging and Poor Customer Service

I've been using Afterpay for over a year now and I've reached mint status. However, I've had some issues with them repeatedly overcharging me. Even after providing proof of my purchases, they still try to skim some money from me. It's frustrating because I've had to go back and forth with them multiple times to get my money back.

I've even gone back to purchases that I've paid off and found that they've kept some of my money even after I thought they reimbursed me. It's a small $5 or $10 buffer that they promise to return, but my "buffers" have gotten as high as $40 and I've had to fight to get my money back. This seems to be a constant issue with Afterpay.

Recently, I made a purchase and noticed that it had the overcharged price, but underneath it had my actual purchase price as if they corrected it. However, when I added up the payments, I was still being charged the same price even though my purchase was way less.

The latest scam that Afterpay has pulled on me is that I made a purchase on a Friday, February 24th, and the payments are supposed to be due on the day of purchase. For example, if you make a purchase on a Monday, it will be due two weeks later on a Monday. However, this time they're saying my payment is due on Thursday instead of Friday, even though that's when I made the purchase. When I tried to correct it, I was told that the computer generated the due date and that I could switch my payments or pay the late fees.

Overall, I feel like Afterpay scams their customers and I would advise people to steer clear of them. It's frustrating to have to constantly fight for my money back and deal with their generic messages when I complain about being overcharged. I hope they can improve their customer service and stop overcharging their customers.

Afterpay Afterpay Review: Great Idea, Poor Customer Service

Afterpay is a pretty cool way to shop, because it feels like you're not spending any money at all! They set it up so that they take the money out of your account automatically every month, which is a great idea. But, if you need to return something, it can be a real pain in the butt. I had to file a claim with my bank because Afterpay was being really difficult about it. They froze my account while the dispute was going on, and they didn't lift the freeze until 7 months later! When I finally contacted them about it, they said there was still a dispute going on with my bank. I couldn't believe it! I had already sorted everything out on my end, but they were still dragging their feet.

It was really frustrating, because they kept asking for more and more proof that the dispute had been settled. I could only provide a screenshot of my account showing the amount, because it had been so long since the dispute started. It took them several weeks to finally lift the freeze, and they never took responsibility for delaying the return of my funds.

I remember one exchange we had where they asked me how I was going to avoid this happening again in the future. I told them that I didn't have to avoid anything, because it was their responsibility to do their part in a timely and considerate manner. They also asked me to provide more information so that they could be confident that I would be able to meet the repayment requirements on time in the future. I was so frustrated, because the money is auto-deducted from my account! How could I not pay on time?

Overall, I think Afterpay is a good idea, but they need to work on their customer service. They should take responsibility for their mistakes and make things right for their customers. I hope they improve in the future, because I would like to use their service again.

Afterpay Afterpay Review: Unappreciative of Customers and Unwilling to Extend Credit

Yo, yo, yo! Let me tell you about my experience with Afterpay. I hopped on board with them back in 2022 and they gave me a $200 shopping credit. But guess what? I was a baller and within three months, I had that credit up to $800. That's what's up!

But then, in August of that same year, I had to take some time off work for FMLA. I was expecting short term disability payments, but they were taking their sweet time. So, my account got a little behind - like $100 to $150 behind. No biggie, right? Wrong! Afterpay treated me like I was three months late on a mortgage payment! I had to jump through all kinds of hoops and provide all kinds of documents just to get an extension on my payment. And even then, they only gave me a little extra time.

But I paid that balance off before the new due date like a boss. And what did Afterpay do? They gave me a measly $50 shopping credit. Like, seriously? I couldn't even buy a pack of gum with that. So, I reached out to customer service again and they finally gave me $100 shopping credit. But they made it sound like they were doing me a favor. And they said if I kept making on-time payments, I might be eligible for more credit in the future.

But you know what? I've been making on-time payments since August and all I have to show for it is a $200 shopping credit. That's it. Afterpay sucks, man. They don't appreciate their customers. I've proven my credit worthiness to them time and time again, but they still treat me like I'm a risk.

So, I'm done with them. I've got one more payment to make and then I'm deleting the app and saying goodbye to Afterpay. They can kiss my hot grits! If they're too scared to extend credit, then they shouldn't be in the buy now pay later business. That's all I gotta say. Thanks for letting me vent.

Afterpay Afterpay Review: Disappointed with New Management and Strict Payment Policies

As someone who has used Afterpay in the past, I have to admit that I was quite disappointed by its service after it got sold. While I never encountered any issues while the original owners were still running the show, I've had a negative experience recently that makes me hesitant to continue using the platform moving forward.

In particular, I recently made a purchase for a handbag through Afterpay and successfully paid for the first two instalments with my Visa debit card. However, despite my bank statement clearly reflecting the successful payments, Afterpay claimed that my payments had not gone through and demanded that I submit a copy of my bank statement as proof. While I complied with their request and provided the necessary documentation, the whole ordeal became such a hassle and time-consuming process that I ultimately ended up feeling rather turned off by the whole experience.

To be clear, I don't think that Afterpay is necessarily a bad concept by any means - it can be quite convenient and helpful in allowing you to break down purchases into easier-to-manage instalments. Based on my personal experience, I would strongly advise against using Afterpay for your online shopping needs. I made the mistake of doing my Christmas shopping through their platform back in November, and to this day, I have yet to receive any of the merchandise I ordered. Despite numerous attempts to get to the bottom of the issue by speaking with both the merchant and Afterpay, it seems that the blame game continues to be played. As a customer caught in the middle of this dispute, I have been left feeling completely helpless and frustrated with the lack of resolution.

To add insult to injury, Afterpay went ahead and withdrew the full $898 from my bank account without my authorization, even after I had disputed the charges with them. When I reached out to the company for help, I was met with an apathetic response that left me feeling like just another number in a long line of dissatisfied customers.

As a result of this terrible experience, I will never be doing business with Afterpay again, and I plan on reporting my ordeal to the Better Business Bureau. However, I would like to recommend that anyone in need of a similar service consider checking out ZIP instead. From my understanding, they offer much better customer service and may be a more reliable option for your online shopping needs.

In conclusion, while I cannot speak for every customer's experience with Afterpay, I personally would caution against using their platform based on my own negative experience. Afterpay My Unfortunate Experience with Afterpay: An Online Payment Service Gone Wrong

Recently, I've had an experience with Afterpay, an online payment service that allows customers to pay for purchases in installments. Unfortunately, it hasn't been a positive one.

I purchased 2 dresses from Nordstrom, and everything seemed to be going smoothly until I received a notification that they were still collecting payments even for the dress I had returned. After reaching out to Afterpay, they asked me to provide receipts and copies of my bank account. I promptly supplied everything they needed, but they continued to ignore Nordstrom's confirmation that both dresses were in fact returned.

After multiple emails to Afterpay, and multiple communications with Nordstrom, I found myself at my wit's end. The company continued to ignore all indications of the return, and I had no other option but to file a formal complaint with the Bureau of Business. Their insistence on asking for snapshots of my bank account was frightening and left me feeling uneasy.

It is alarming to know that they have the resources to confirm the legitimacy of the information provided by retail stores such as Nordstrom, but they declined to do so. It seems that in their quest to continue charging for returned items and asking for bank account information, they have become nothing more than bandits.

My experience with Afterpay has left a sour taste in my mouth. I advise anyone considering using this service to be cautious and keep an eye on their transactions.

Afterpay My Terrible Experience with Afterpay: Lack of Transparency and Stolen Money

I would strongly advise against using Afterpay, as my experience with them has been absolutely terrible. Recently, I purchased a gift card and unfortunately never received the merchandise that I had intended to purchase. This prompted me to reach out to Afterpay for assistance, only to be informed that there was a third-party merchant involved in the transaction - something that was never mentioned during the initial purchase process.

Despite their lack of transparency, I did as I was instructed and attempted to contact the third-party merchant in question in order to receive a refund for the gift card. Unfortunately, this process was incredibly difficult and time-consuming, taking me nearly two weeks to eventually reach someone who told me that I had no choice but to accept the gift card - even though I had not received the merchandise that I had originally intended to purchase and had no interest in doing business with the store in question.

Adding insult to injury, Afterpay continued to deduct funds from my account during this time, further compounding the issue of my stolen money. Despite my frustration and attempts to escalate the issue to a manager, Afterpay never called me back and did not express any care whatsoever about the situation that they had created.

Given all of this, I am currently pursuing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. In summary, I strongly advise against using Afterpay given my own terrible experience and lack of resolution.

Afterpay Afterpay: Unreliable and Unhelpful Customer Service Experience with Forever21 Purchase

I recently had a disappointing experience while attempting to use Afterpay for a purchase on Forever21's website. Unfortunately, my order did not completely process, but Afterpay still charged me for the purchase. I was initially upset, but hoped that the situation could be resolved by reaching out to both Afterpay and Forever 21. However, both companies denied their ability to help me.

Feeling frustrated, I contacted Afterpay for a refund. They informed me that it would take five days to process. However, that deadline came and went with no action taken. When I followed up with Afterpay, I was told that the wait time was actually ten days. After waitng once again, I still had not received my refund. I reached out to Afterpay once more, albeit with the same information as before. To my surprise, Afterpay told me that the order was actually placed on June 6th, instead of on May 24th. I even had screenshots to prove the correct date, but they refused to listen. They only managed to provide me with excuses and no actual help.

Regrettably, I am now stuck with a bill for dresses that I never received. It is clear to me that Afterpay subscribes to a policy of taking advantage of its customers by not addressing or resolving their concerns. While I used to be a big fan of Afterpay, my experience has been so negatively impacted that I must say goodbye to the company.

If you are considering using Afterpay, I highly recommend that you reconsider. My personal experience with the company has been far from pleasant, and I feel compelled to share my story in the hopes that others can avoid the same mistakes.

Firstly, despite what they claim, Afterpay absolutely does perform credit checks on its customers. And even if you are diligent about making your payments on time, these credit checks can still negatively impact your credit score and make it more difficult for you to secure loans down the road. Lenders are wary of those who use services like Afterpay, and many will avoid giving loans to customers who have utilized such services in the past.

Additionally, my loyalty to Afterpay was ultimately not rewarded. After years of being a dedicated customer and spending thousands of dollars through their app, I found that my credit limit had been drastically reduced after just six months of inactivity. Despite having a lengthy history with the company, I was punished for not using their service frequently enough.

Leaving aside the financial aspects of my experience, I must also note that the customer service at Afterpay was terrible. The representatives that I interacted with were consistently rude and unhelpful, making it clear that they did not value their customers in the slightest.

Furthermore, Afterpay's recent update to their app has only made matters worse. They have removed the convenient in-store barcode feature, forcing customers to buy new phones or use clunky workarounds just to make purchases. It seems that the company is more interested in partnering with Mastercard for the sake of profit and data mining than providing a seamless and user-friendly experience.

Overall, I cannot in good conscience recommend Afterpay to anyone. While there may be a few positive reviews out there, the majority of real people that I've spoken to have experienced similar difficulties and frustrations. Afterpay Afterpay Review: Proceed with Caution When Dealing with Unknown Vendors

When I first used Afterpay (afterpay.com), it seemed to work well. I was comfortable with the vendors I knew and had no problems communicating with Afterpay throughout the ordering and shipping process. However, my experience with a vendor I did not know left a lot to be desired.

I saw some really cute clothes advertised on Chicme US and ordered them. Since the vendor was located in the US, I assumed that the clothes were coming from there. It turned out that the vendor was located in another country.

When my order was delivered, two months later, I had already lost interest in the items. In January, Afterpay reached out to me asking whether I wanted to wait or cancel my order. I immediately chose to cancel as we had been trying to cancel it since December 5, 2021.

I returned the items to the address advised by Afterpay and the vendor, but I was still sent to collections for goods that were no longer in my possession. This has left me feeling cheated and scammed by Afterpay.

It seems that Afterpay will deal with any vendor, whether honest or dishonest. What's worse is that they make more money from their late fees, so there's little incentive for them to push for cancellations. Overall, I found the experience with Afterpay to be less than satisfactory and I will be more careful about using them in the future.

Afterpay Review: Afterpay's Merchant Reliability Lacks, Customer Service Okay

The experience with Afterpay has not been the best as they do not seem to have a proper system to ensure their merchants are reliable. It can become frustrating when a purchase fails to meet your expectation, and you reach out to them for help, but they provide minimal assistance. Even when the merchant ghosted, Afterpay was not able to intervene. The whole process can become tedious and lengthy, and you might feel like your concerns are not being heard.

However, the customer service of Afterpay is decent, and they will eventually offer help after a few days of trying to contact the merchant. They will request proof of your communication with the merchant to initiate a dispute, but even then, they caution that it could take up to ten days to get any answers.

One hopes that Afterpay could work more collaboratively with merchants and perform a thorough review process to ensure that their reputation remains high. Hopefully, in the future, they can take more steps to advocate and support their customers when things go sideways with their merchants.

Afterpay Why I switched from Afterpay to Klarna for a better shopping experience

As a former customer of Afterpay, I can honestly say that my experience with them was not a positive one. At the time of my departure, I had been with the service for four years. However, due to their strict policies and unpleasant customer service, I decided to look elsewhere for a more positive shopping experience.

One of the biggest issues I had with Afterpay was their unforgiving and rude attitude towards customers who fell behind on payments. I was punished severely after being only 24 hours late with one payment, as they lowered my spending limit to just $50. This felt like an unnecessary and harsh punishment, which made it difficult for me to continue using their service.

Another issue with Afterpay was their unusual payment schedule. The payment process begins from the moment the buyer presses "submit order," instead of when the vendor ships out the order. This allows vendors to take advantage of the payment process, as they are paid immediately without a shipping guarantee. This is certainly not a fair policy for customers, who have to wait to receive their orders before they can even begin to think about payment strategies.

Afterpay also offers a so-called "rewards program," but it actually feels more like a punishment than a true incentive. In order to move up the tiered system, you must make all of your payments on time and in full. While this may sound reasonable at first, the reality is that even a few hours of lateness can cause you to be downgraded to the lowest tier. It's clear to see that this system is unattainable for many people, which makes it more of an empty promise than a legitimate reward.

With a more customer-friendly attitude and excellent customer service, Klarna takes away the fear of being treated like a criminal if you fall behind on a payment. Also, their finance options extend to any store, including Afterpay stores. Additionally, Klarna does not begin your payment schedule until your order ships from the retailer. This means you can expect your order to arrive quickly, without any delays from vendors.

In summary, Afterpay is a service that unfortunately fell short of my expectations. Their rigid policies, rude customer service, and strange payment schedule made it difficult for me to comfortably use the service. However, their service can still be utilized, if you're willing to take their limitations into consideration. But if you're looking for a better option, I highly recommend Klarna-- with their exceptional customer service, quick shipping options, and ease of use, they have proven to be a more reliable and trustworthy option for all of my shopping needs.

I've been using Afterpay for a few years now and I have to say, it's been a lifesaver for me. As someone who's on a fixed income, it's not always easy to make big purchases all at once. But with Afterpay, I can split the cost into four easy payments, which makes it much more manageable for me.

However, I have to say that I was pretty disappointed when they changed the app so that I couldn't use it in-store anymore. I don't have a fancy smartphone, so I'm not able to take advantage of that feature. Now, I'm limited to using it for online purchases only.

And then there was the whole "no payment up front" thing. I was really excited when they announced that, but then when I tried to use it, it didn't work. I reached out to customer service, but it took me several messages to get a response. And when I finally did, they told me that I wasn't eligible for the no payment up front option because I hadn't been using the service frequently enough.

Honestly, I was pretty frustrated by that. I've been a loyal customer for years, and it felt like they were punishing me for not using the service more often. It's no wonder that more and more people are turning to ZIP pay instead.

Overall, I still think that Afterpay is a great service, but I do wish that they would be a little more transparent about their policies and make it easier for all customers to take advantage of their features.

Afterpay Warning: Afterpay's Lack of Merchant Verification Leaves Customers High and Dry

Afterpay ain't doing their job right, they ain't checkin' out the merchants they're workin' with. They're lettin' payments go through for websites that pop up and disappear in a blink of an eye. Take sablehubs.com for example. I bought a Winch from them and Afterpay was the only way to pay. But now the site's gone, I ain't got no shipping confirmation or the product, and it's been 16 days past the original delivery date. Afterpay's tellin' me to ask for a refund from the merchant, but there ain't no merchant no more. And Afterpay's just fine with keepin' on takin' my payments. It ain't like it's any easier to get in touch with Afterpay than a website that's vanished. There ain't no contact info on their website, you just gotta file a dispute and wait for an email or phone call that ain't come yet. All I'm gettin' is automated messages, but no real person to talk to. So, I'm tellin' ya, don't use Afterpay.

Afterpay Afterpay: A Third-Party Nightmare - Beware of Bad Support and Unfulfilled Promises

Support was really bad. I had to cancel an order with a merchant and they said they would give me back some of my payment. But they didn't do what they said they would do and they never told Afterpay that the order was cancelled. I told Afterpay about this and showed them emails between me and the merchant and proof that the order was cancelled. But they didn't do anything. They said it was between me and the company and they kept charging me for something I cancelled and never got.

So I went to my bank and told them what happened and I also reported Afterpay to the Better Business Bureau. Afterpay is a really bad third party company that lets bad companies do whatever they want. I learned that it's better to just pay all your money up front and not use a third party. If I had just gone to my bank, things would have been fixed faster. Be careful of third party companies that don't care about you.

I recently had a disappointing experience while attempting to use Afterpay for a purchase on Forever21's website. I was initially upset, but hoped that the situation could be resolved by reaching out to both Afterpay and Forever 21. However, both companies denied their ability to help me.

Feeling frustrated, I contacted Afterpay for a refund. They informed me that it would take five days to process. However, that deadline came and went with no action taken. When I followed up with Afterpay, I was told that the wait time was actually ten days. After waitng once again, I still had not received my refund. I reached out to Afterpay once more, albeit with the same information as before. To my surprise, Afterpay told me that the order was actually placed on June 6th, instead of on May 24th. I even had screenshots to prove the correct date, but they refused to listen. They only managed to provide me with excuses and no actual help.

Regrettably, I am now stuck with a bill for dresses that I never received. It is clear to me that Afterpay subscribes to a policy of taking advantage of its customers by not addressing or resolving their concerns. Afterpay Afterpay Review: Proceed with Caution When Dealing with Unknown Vendors

When I first used Afterpay (afterpay.com), it seemed to work well. I was comfortable with the vendors I knew and had no problems communicating with Afterpay throughout the ordering and shipping process. However, my experience with a vendor I did not know left a lot to be desired.

I saw some really cute clothes advertised on Chicme US and ordered them. Since the vendor was located in the US, I assumed that the clothes were coming from there. It turned out that the vendor was located in another country.

When my order was delivered, two months later, I had already lost interest in the items. In January, Afterpay reached out to me asking whether I wanted to wait or cancel my order. I immediately chose to cancel as we had been trying to cancel it since December 5, 2021.

I returned the items to the address advised by Afterpay and the vendor, but I was still sent to collections for goods that were no longer in my possession. This has left me feeling cheated and scammed by Afterpay.

It seems that Afterpay will deal with any vendor, whether honest or dishonest. What's worse is that they make more money from their late fees, so there's little incentive for them to push for cancellations. Overall, I found the experience with Afterpay to be less than satisfactory and I will be more careful about using them in the future.

Afterpay Afterpay Review: Poor Vendor Verification and Customer Service

I recently made an online purchase and decided to use Afterpay as the payment method. At first, I thought it was a good deal and was excited to try it out. However, my excitement quickly turned into frustration when I realized that the vendor I purchased from was a total fraud.

Finally, I had enough and changed my credit card number. I let Afterpay know that I wouldn't be paying them a cent. After another month, the case was resolved in my favor. It was a no-brainer that I was the victim of fraud and Afterpay should have acted more promptly to verify their vendors.

I was left wondering why it took Afterpay so long to get their act together. They should have at least suspended the second payment when they were taking so long to investigate. It's disappointing to see such a scummy company exist and I would never ever deal with them again.

Unfortunately, they only have email customer service, no live chat or phone support.

After four days, I finally received a response from Afterpay. They also informed me that my spending limit had decreased to $800, but they would review it later and it may change back.

Afterpay is one of the most ridiculous apps I have ever used. It's not just the app, it's the whole Afterpay experience. I really wish I could get people to stop using them. They gave me a spending limit, which was fine. I spent an hour signing up, which was also fine. But when I tried to purchase items from different retailers, I was declined every time. It's ridiculous! They kept sending me texts and emails, telling me to come back and buy my items. They even encouraged me to use their app more.

I had to sit there and chat with an agent, but it wasn't even a live chat. They told me that they had to make quick decisions on allowing my purchases. One purchase was $88, and I was going to pay it in two payments instead of four. But they still declined it. My credit score is decent, not horrible. I also have money in the bank. I'm just going through hard times and needed something for my kids.

After I got declined, they told me that I could still use Afterpay. What a joke! I signed up for Sezzle and got approved for $1000 almost instantly. I only spent $200. Affirm is also a better option. Don't use Afterpay. It's not worth the hassle.

I hope this review helps someone who is considering using Afterpay. Don't waste your time with them. There are better options out there.

I always made sure to pay on time, and I was never late with any of my payments. However, recently, I found myself in the strange position of having a zero balance with Afterpay. And despite having a clean record and setting up good payment habits in the past, the company still chose to limit my credit limit to a mere $50. I don't consider that to be a terribly reasonable or accurate reflection of my creditworthiness, so I'd advise others to take their business elsewhere. One Alternative that I would recommend is Affirm. I have also used their services and had a much better experience overall.

Afterpay Concerns with Afterpay's Personal Information Request Policy

I want to share my experience with Afterpay, a popular online payment platform that has been gaining immense popularity. I've been using Afterpay for a few months now and it has made shopping so much more convenient with the option to split payments into four equal installments without any interest or fees. However, one day unexpectedly my account suddenly got frozen, and I was unable to use it for any purchases.

Feeling quite perplexed and concerned, I reached out to their customer support team to enquire about the issue. After explaining my situation, they requested me to provide them with a few documents via email, including a copy of my license or passport, and some bank statements.

The whole experience left a sour taste in my mouth, and I couldn't help but feel skeptical about providing them with such personal and sensitive information. Moreover, the fact that they asked for it without any explanation made me feel worried about the safety of my identity and financial information.

It was evident to me that they were potentially collecting my information beyond what they required, given that I had never defaulted on any payment and have been consistently paying my installments on time using the same card details. It appeared to me that such an unusual request for information was an attempt at data mining, which could lead to identity theft.
