Adventure 001 review: 25 mile city sightseeing tour in a helicopter

If I could give 0 STARS I would! Absolutely shocked and disappointed by the level of service received!

This was initially meant to be for my partners birthday back in August 2022 in York but there were no bookings available. I then decided to delay this until our anniversary in April 2023 and surprise my partner with a long weekend away in Hereford where for accommodation and fuel I spent over £500 to find out it was cancelled once we had paid for accommodation and arrived in Hereford for this to be cancelled on us.

We then had to rebook this and chose to go for Wells, as this was the place of our first date. This would now be for my partners birthday in 2023. One year after it was intended to be booked for. We now managed to get all the way to the airport where we had to wait 30 minutes due to delays. It is also worth mentioning that in order to book this venue I had to pay even more and upgrade my partner to the front seat! We managed to have our pictures taken and the couple we were going with got in before us. We got as far as my partners leg in the front seat before the pilot smelled something not quite right and the whole day was cancelled. Both of there cancellations were due to the safety of us and I completely get and accept that…

However, we then rebooked for the only option we had that wasn’t over 4 hours away. This was the weekend just gone and unfortunately we broke down in the way there. With no way of letting them know or pre-warning other than calling Tiffany I called 3 times and left a voicemail in order to let her know that unfortunately we cannot make it. With 15 minutes until we were due to take off Tiffany called to ask for our whereabouts. Having not picked up the message I left I explained that we’re are on the side of the road and unable to make it. She explains that we have not got a flexible booking and we have now lost this opportunity! An opportunity which I planned for my partner on the first night we met and purchased soon after, now thanks to Adventure001 this will not happen anytime soon!

Monday morning came i between us we tried to call the number on the website four times to be put on hold each time for 15 minutes and the line to then go dead and cut us off. My partner emailed and managed to get some sort of response from Dom Green the Operations Manager. After requesting a phone call in order to explain the situation properly he called and the situation was explained along with our history of dealing with Adventure001. Having taken over as it sounded like Dom was doing all the talking I reiterated that having spent so much already on this experience and got nowhere I didn’t want to spend anymore with this company and the offer of 20% off which is less than I have seen available on groupon recently was all he was willing to offer. After me continuing to explain why I have a problem with this and Dom talking over me saying the same thing about me ticking the box and agreeing to their terms and conditions he actually hung up on me because I did not like the tone of his voice and the bullying he was giving me so I told him this. We will be going on a helicopter ride in the future but I will never be doing any business with this company ever again!

We have spent over £750 on planning and for this event to have it completely taken away from us with no sympathy or empathy at all!
