FORMAL COMPLAINT – FAILURE TO PROVIDE SERVICE AND RESOLVE ACCOUNT TRANSFER ISSUE
Date: 26 August 2026
To: ABN AMRO – Customer Complaints Department
Re: Ongoing inability to transfer funds between my own ABN AMRO accounts
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to make a formal complaint regarding the ongoing lack of service and assistance I have received from ABN AMRO in relation to a straightforward transfer between my own accounts.
This issue has been ongoing since late 2025 and, despite numerous emails and telephone calls to ABN AMRO, it remains unresolved. I find it completely unacceptable that I have been unable to carry out a basic transaction between my own accounts for what is now approaching one year.
The issue appears to be that the current account to which I am attempting to transfer funds from my savings account is not correctly linked within my ABN AMRO banking arrangements. Consequently, the system does not allow me to make the transfer.
As a direct consequence of this unresolved issue, I am not using my ABN AMRO credit card because I am unable to transfer funds to the card account due to the above challenge. This has significantly restricted my ability to use a banking facility for which I am a customer and which I should reasonably be able to access and use without this ongoing difficulty.
I have repeatedly attempted to obtain assistance from ABN AMRO to have this corrected. However, despite contacting you by telephone, email, and the ABN AMRO app, I have received no satisfactory resolution.
This is particularly frustrating because:
• These are my own ABN AMRO accounts.
• I am simply trying to transfer money from my savings account to my current account.
• The problem appears to be an account-linking or system issue that should be capable of being resolved by ABN AMRO without involving me.
• I have contacted ABN AMRO repeatedly since late 2025.
• The matter has still not been resolved.
• I am unable to use my ABN AMRO credit card because I cannot transfer funds to it.
• I am therefore being prevented from accessing and transferring my own money in the normal manner.
I now require ABN AMRO to treat this matter as a formal complaint and escalate it immediately to someone with the authority and technical ability to resolve the problem.
Immediate action required
I require an **ABN AMRO representative to telephone me directly , this week, **to discuss this matter and resolve the issue. If for business reasons I miss the call, I require a direct telephone number to the person who can resolve this challenge.
I do not require another generic email advising me to contact customer services or another telephone number. to the call centre I have already done this repeatedly without success.
I require someone to:
1. ABN AMRO lost €300k out of my account due to no one contacting me over a period of 4/5 years to invest or deposit this money into an account that would generate a better and more reasonable return.
2. Review my accounts and establish why the current account is not correctly linked to my savings account.
3. Correct whatever system, account-linking or administrative issue is preventing the transfer.
4. Confirm that I can transfer funds between my own accounts immediately.
5. Explain why this matter has remained unresolved since late 2025 despite my repeated attempts to obtain assistance.
6. Confirm what action has now been taken to ensure that this problem does not recur.
7. Confirm that I can immediately resume using my ABN AMRO credit card once the transfer facility has been restored.
It is unacceptable that a customer should have to spend almost a year trying to obtain assistance with such a basic banking function, particularly when the consequence is that I am unable to use my ABN AMRO credit card because I cannot fund the card from my own savings account.
I would appreciate this matter being treated with the urgency it now requires and for a member of the appropriate team to contact me today, 26 August 2026.
To date I have not received and therefore I am sending the same information to kifid whom I believe is the regulatory authority.
I look forward to receiving a telephone call this week to confirming that this matter is being dealt with and, most importantly, that the transfer facility has been restored so that I can once again transfer to my current account and use my ABN AMRO credit card with peace of mind.
Yours faithfully,
ABN AMRO Account Holder

We have tried to email ABN AMRO numerous times however, ALL the emails bounce back. I have also tried phoning ABN AMRO and the call cuts off / the customer service team say they will fix - but nothing has been fixed. I need our savings account added to my ABN AMRO App so that I can transfer funds without a hassle - this is now close to a year with NO resolution.
