They arrived NOT in their window, they called and asked if they could come early and we told them no, they showed up five minutes later then a game bag of dozens of games worth $2,000 nintendo switch games were taken that should NOT have been taken . These are things my autistic son and my military husband have been collecting for years that they bond over when there is time away due to deployments and communication issues due to autism and a bag of nintendo switch games with the logo on it is certainly not junk. I told them we can call it a miscommunication and maybe it was taken by accident because I don't want to accuse anyone, but ( I just want them back,I don't care I just want them back because it's not just the money it's stuff that belongs to my sons and husband) I was paying one guy while the other who was supposed to be outside was not. I don't know Who thinks dozens of nintendo switch games are junk, but I really want to give the benefit of the doubt. This was the second time in two weeks I had them out because they didn't take all the stuff I paid for the first time so they remembered me and seemed nice enough but, the games should not have been taken, nor should they have ever been in my bedroom without me. The feelings that comes when this happens are awful. Them showing up at a time when they should not have and were told no, but due to us moving I had no other time and they said they would not be able to come back, Then dozens of switch games ina switch game bag in my bedroom being taken that never should have been taken. It makes me sick. I have cried over this because these meant the world to my husband and son not to mention they are worth a lot of money. All in all from the past two weeks this company has gotten thousands of dollars from us. I really just want the games back. I try and think it has to be a mistake and maybe they were just taken by mistake and they will call me and say sorry and hand them over, but the entire experience has left me feeling disgusted and icky. Actually I am heartbroken by what this means for my husband and son. It crushes me that every single one of their games were taken. brand new video games are not junk. dozens of switch video games are not junk.

Terrible company to hire or work with. Here are all the secrets they don't want you to know. Their call center is located in Canada and the representatives tell you low prices and entice you with free estimates so they can arrive at your home and once there, truck team members make up their own price and are instructed to charge as much as possible for daily revenue goals and also profit sharing reasons. Secondly, you are given a 2 hr window for your appointment but might end up waiting around all day as drivers could care less about when they arrive at a job. Thirdly, nothing is donated or recycled as they claim in their website. They dump 95% of items in the landfill and sell the other 5% to thrift shops. Fourth, they pay minimum wage and hire 95% of people that were just released from prison with dangerous felonies and/or are on parole. Be very careful who you let in your home as they are known to steal and rob. The motto is we will make our money one way or another. Fifth, the price is suppose to be based on how much space you take up in the truck but their truck often times has items already in it or is filled with garbage bins, dollies, ladders, and other items they use to fluff up the truck. If you can look at the truck from a overhead view through a window or by climbing up on a truck you will see all the empty space you are paying for. Sixth, the company will always try to tact on extra fees when they are not necessary or are explained. Labor fees, bed load fees, and even additional extra time fees are all ploys they use to bump up the price. Save your money and time and do your research and pick a company that will charge a lot less and do the same job.

My name is Doug Martin and I am the owner of the local franchise. The previous comments were from an employee who was let go and that same day for breaking company rules (we do not allow smoking of ANYTHING in or near the trucks) took to the internet with the above comments.
We treat all our employees with respect, this employee has told numerous lies, we do not call any employee names, we walk away from hazzardous jobs, all our rates are upfront and we value repeat customers (almost 45%), not laugh at them.

We also train ALL our employees to point out any damage that we may cause. We treat safety very seriously and have a zero tolerance policy.

It is also illegal to remove junk without an A-901 permit, so again this ex employee is resorting to illegal actions(it takes 12 months to get an A-901 from the state).
We have contacted our attorney, there are many lies and false statements made by this disgruntled ex-employee and all we ask is that the truth be told.

 1800 got junk treats their employees like ish. I am a former employee that quit aftrr being called a " b**ch " by the manager at Englishtown because i would not do a Black Mold basement job without a respirator mask (which is still not enough protection.) This company is a rip-off.. the call center will low ball the estimate just to get the driving crew to the house and then give you a total different and more expensive price. The general manager laughs at "  who can overcharge people" and "the dumb people for spending $704.06 on a truckload of cardboard, when they could have just put it at the curb or the dump themselves." The motto of the, Englishtown owner was if you damage something dont say anything unless the customer does first. I feel bad for people.  The drivers are maniacs on the road, along with employees drinking and smoking weed on the job. This company is a joke, there are sooooo many other junk removal companies that are cheaper, honest, and safer.!

I feel compelled to respond to your feedback to Drew. 1-800-Got-Junk will charge for ALL items removed from your location and loaded onto their truck. They have to pay dumping fees to dispose of your junk. Your also paying for two employees and a truck. Of course they will recycle the metal items as this is the environmentally right thing to do. If you don't like it, find a truck and a helper and load the metal yourself so you can collect the $320 per ton. Con artists? How can you make that statement? They show up at your location, look at your junk and give you a price upfront including your so called hidden fees. You can decide to move forward or decline it. How are they being con artists? On the other note, YOU SUCK!

Do not use 1 800 GOT JUNK! Way overpriced! And also they also charge you for ALL metal items that take up lots of room and they cash in for scrap at the tune of $320 per ton! TOTAL CON ARTISTS! ALSO, WATCH OUT FOR ALL THE HIDDEN FEES!

Hi Ms. Tami - my name is Drew Trautman and I am the owner of the local franchise that came to your property. First and foremost my apologies for not leaving you with a positive image of our company. I've tried to call a couple of times to speak with you directly. Unfortuantely, I've been unable to reach you - though I did speak to your daughter on one occasion (she indicated the service went well!).

My apologies if the website seems misleading. We don't give any firm prices until we are onsite - and then once we do, the customer is free to not do the job (it's free to have us come out and give you a price). My apologies for taking something that wasn't supposed to go, but my staff only take the items they are asked to take.
