Westinghouse Electric - Input componets do not work can get no customer service from westinghouse after several weeks of trying

After learning from my Direct TV installer that my input componets were not working, I tried to contact Westinghouse. I knew that the TV was approx. 18 months old and probably not under warranty any longer, but I wanted to at least find out of the problem was repairable at a reasonable price.

I thought it unusal that the inputs would be bad because they had never been used before this time so I am figuring that they were bad right from the factory and unfortuantely I was unaware of the problem until now.

The Direct TV installer was able to connect my TV to the satelite receiver via the RCA connections, but I am not able to watch full HD TV that way. I am also not able to use my PS3 game or watch DVDs without disconnecting the Direct TV receiver first. Both the installer for Direct TV and an independant electronics installer checked my TV and came up with the same result. The input componets were not working on the TV. I was told to try calling Westinghouse TV service.

I called Westinghouse customer service and after over a week of calling them and finally being shifted to their out-of-warranty repair service, and then waiting for another week for an answer, I was told by their ITI (out of warranty repair service) service that my TV was not repairable and that I should call Westinghouse Service back.

I called Westinghouse service back and was told that they could not help me because ITI Service had not noted my file with the fact that they could not repair my TV. They suggested that I call ITI Service back.

As you can imagine, by now I was really feeling like a football being passed around.

I asked to speak to a Customer Service Supervisor and I was told that I had to leave my name and number and a supervisor would call me back within 24 to 48 hours. Since I had already received over SIX (6) promises of call backs from the Westinghouse Customer Service Dept. and I had not received even one return telephone call, I requested to be allowed to hold for the next available supervisor. I was summarily told that I was not allowed to hold and then I was hung up on by the customer service person. I tried calling back THREE (3) more times and asking for a Supervisor and each time they hung up on me.

It has now been approximately 36 hours since I was told a supervisor would call me back within 24 to 48 hours and of course I have not received a phone call yet from a supervisor. I do not believe that I will ever hear from them voluntarily.
