Salesman came to show me double glazing: one hour appointment. Spent 2 and a half hours playing silly sales games like try to work out the social category of my postcode. then how many people did I know, what was my background, and come up with - you've guessedit, my profile plus the local profile meant I could have a great discount! He then rubbished local companies and other major companies and after 3 hours gave me a special sign-up now quote of three times the going rate (I had already quizzed my neighbours on what price they had paid and which company). He woudln't listen, didn't show me any respect, and just managed to leave before I phoned for the cavalry to remove him. I only lost my time, but my time is valuable and irreplaceable. A useful wakeup call that the old sayings about doubel-glazing salesmen are as true as ever.

and to add insult to injury, I now find that htey have been repeatedly had up for cold -calling registered phone numbers like mine, and even questions asked ian the House of Commons under the subjects Weatherseal: Complaints and Standards

Nothing has changed! As the original post we were subjected to 3 hours of, what I can only say was total dribble about free holidays, rewards cards etc then to be told that the cost of the conservatory, of which I didn't pick, would visit £47k but then he reduced it to £34k, then to £28 and after leaving him with my husband whilst I made dinner, dropped my daughter off at a social club it had dropped to £25k! After a phone all to his boss to say that we were not prepared to sign up for this, what I have to say would have been an unfinished project, with no floor, no new internal door, no decorating and no heating, he informed us that his boss was "an unhappy teddy" . He was infact speaking to his wife and then challenged my husband for listening in to his conversation when my husband said he had heard his conversation! He was unpolitely asked to leave and we are waiting to speak to someone tomorrow after we were told our appointment would be no longer than 1 hour and we were under no obligation. Liars! This has left a totally bitter taste in my mouth and will certainly never as long as we are breathing invite a double glazing sales rep into our house ever again!

got ten year garentee on door and they have asked us to pay 90 pound for an engineer to come out to measure it surely if its garenteed it should not cost any thing for a door that wont shut properly when its sunny so you have to slam the door to shut it making the panel crack.

The above comments are profoundly worrying. The company sales team don't seem to have learnt anything and are still following the same practices almost to the letter several years on in December 2014.

An elderly relation received a cold call yesterday with the inference that she might be eligible for grant aid towards the cost of renewing a new French window - four calls later she reluctantly agreed to a sales visit - saleswoman arrived late and overstayed her I hour appointment - she provided no means of identity and had to be asked for her name - she rubbished competitive companies and seemed to go out of her way to frighten an elderly into submission by inferring that the present window was a security risk and that there was a problem with the build up of dampness she also inferred that the window lintel was almost certainly unsound but she had no dampness meter and never looked at the window outside.

Her attitude was not so much threatening as intimidating - including starting off with a an offer of £3600 + then dropping it to £3250 and then went on to ask what price my elderly relation had expected the renewal of the window would cost and refused to take "I will need to think about that" as an answer.

She finally asked to use the house phone to ring her boss on the grounds of her own safety as a remote worker but the subject of the conversation was about the size the window & the offers made - the out turn of which was an offer from her manager to do the work for £1500 providing the offer was accepted then and there and secured with an immediate down payment of 20%. She was very reluctant to leave and was unable to provide a visiting card with contact details for the company or a brochure on the company's products - she eventually provided a handwritten note of her name and mobile phone number but absolutely no information about her employers

I am no lawyer but the overall impression was that of someone skating on very thin ice - but there again she might have been an imposter and not employed by Weatherseal at all but the comment above confirm that she must have the same training school !

I had the same problem with the weatherseal salesman today he was here for over three hours during which time he spouted a load of boring rubbish about how good his company was and how bad the competition were and I also go t the splurge about using my house for promotions ect. and a super price if I signed up immediatly which I refused this brought om the call to his manager I told him where to go and when I said I had dealt with other double glazing salesmen w ith no problems he called me a liar I then ordered him out of my house as he at last went he smashed his heavy sample bag into my glass door and my car damaging the wing mirror I would never deal with this company and it is time something was done about their threatening behaviour

I have just had a weather seal salesman come out not only was he 45mins late, instead of the hour i was expecting he was here for 2 hours! he also slandered other companies and when he finally gave me my half price mega discount it was 4 times the amount of all other quotes! I said it was far to expensive and that i was not going to accept it then the pressure really started and even when i threatened to call the police to have him removed he said he could not leave without calling his manager due to security risks? the phone call to his manager was him trying to get a better price which was a 4th of the price and i should 'Take it or leave it' i said i was be more than happy to leave it and to now please leave my property after some more arguing i have just managed to get my weather seal sales man to leave and find myself feeling venerable due the the amount of information he now has about me and my house and now cooking my dinner at 9pm at night !
This company is a sham! they are rude and if i had only looked online before making the appointment i would have never have done it! I typed in weather seal and the 2nd hit was a complains forum about them... not a good start!
I hope someone investigates and shuts them down ASAP
