On Monday June 19th I brought my 18yr old kitty into this office because my regular vet couldn’t get her in for a couple of days. I couldn’t wait because she was not eating/drinking and not using litter box. She wouldn’t come out from under the bed and when she finally did I noticed right away her face was swollen. I could easily tell her mouth hurt. I loaded her in car and took her here. I explained that her face was swollen and I think she had an infection from teeth. I was also concerned about her possibly getting into cinnamon I put down for ants but her sister was fine. After about 30min. a young lady came out and asked a few general questions and I told her the same. She told me that Dr will come see me shortly. Three hours later the Dr came out and said she didn’t see the swelling and nothing wrong in mouth except for some gingivitis and told me they don’t do dental there (red flag, How well did she check her mouth) She suggested other tests to rule out other things so I agreed because she was not well. About another hour or more she came back and said she has kidney disease. No information about treatment, prognosis or care except lower protein diet. They gave her fluids and a anti nausea shot. I tried to pay with $900+ bill with my care credit card but it was in my husbands name. They made that so difficult and after being there for over 4hrs. I just paid the cash to get out of there. Well Wednesday morning she is worse so I took her to the Veterinary Emergency Group. I was able to be with her during exam and the first thing she did was check the swelling (and it was) and then gently opened her mouth and low and behold there’s a nasty sore in the back that is cancer! She was shocked it wasn’t seen less than 48hrs earlier. I was sent home with medication to keep her comfortable until I can get my lady out to do home euthanasia. I was charged for many unnecessary tests if they had just done their job correctly in the first place. I plan on taking action for a refund for the unnecessary tests and a possible civil suit if they don’t do the right thing. I have no idea why they have such high ratings. I felt like they took my baby and stuck her in a scary place for four hours and traumatized her and me. I myself have MS and the worst thing for it is stress. Having a sick pet is stressful enough and then not hearing anything and not being able to go anywhere until you talk to Dr. I will say the front staff was friendly but that’s not enough for me. I will never take an animal there again.

Desired outcome: I would like a refund for everything except the office visit and the medication administered. I had to spend another $500 to be told she has aggressive cancer and doesn’t have long to live.
