Projector bulb quoted to have increased lifespan on eco mode and further increased on eco+. The base lifespan was listed as 2000 hours and is increased 10x to 20,000 hours on eco+.
The projector was used exclusively on eco+ mode and the bulb died after 1984 hours, failing to last even to the quoted minimum lifespan at normal usage, implying it would of only lasted 200 hours at full usage. This means it only lasted less than 10% of the quoted eco+ lifespan and when I returned the projector with this information I was refused warranty and forced to pay the full price for the repair of the bulb.
Now I am worried it will be a reoccurring problem every 200 hours of normal use and I specifically bought the particular model because of the quoted lifespan to avoid the inconvenience of frequent bulb changes.
Either it was a anomaly and it died prematurely which should be covered by warranty, or this is the accurate life of the product and it has been completely falsely advertised and sold.
And of course I am now afraid to use the product to its full capabilities because taking it off eco+ mode might drastically decrease the remaining lifespan. I also cannot afford to be paying nearly £200 on a regular interval for maintenance of a miss sold product.
