I had a mixed experience working with Fixthephoto (fixthephoto.com) on my photo manipulation needs. I had to get a pic ready for my local house of God and there was work to be done on it, especially some background removal as I wanted to enlarge it. I had my ideal colors in mind, a vivid dark blue and a gentle light blue background. The picture came back way beyond what I was hoping for, but the man of the cloth was not entirely sold on the blue I had chosen initially. Therefore, in accordance to his wishes, I submitted the lighter shade of blue sample on 1/1/20 at 10:58 PM. I was clear that I needed three photographs with varying degrees of lightness: picture #1 to match the sample I sent, picture #2 lighter than the first, and picture #3 lighter than the second.

I was extremely impressed by the speed of Fixthephoto's revisions once I had submitted my email. I received an email notifying me that my revisions had already been completed and were ready on 1/2/20 at 6:12 AM. That is an astounding turn-around time if you ask me. The customer service that Fixthephoto provided was beyond excellent and I genuinely recommend their photo retouching services.

To be honest, I was quite disappointed with Fixthephoto's photo editing services. Their advertised work didn't live up to what I received in return. Let's not even get started on the spam emails I received after signing up to their website. They claimed that my information would be kept confidential, but I doubt that was the case. Every day I get tons of friend requests from their fake advertising workers on Facebook, and they even try to add my friends and photo clients! It's a bit too much to handle.

I reported them to the ICO for breaking GDPR privacy laws and I hope that they get fined or shut down. It's unacceptable to use personal data in such a way. They even write bad reviews of other photo editing firms, trying to make themselves look like a better alternative. It's just a shame that they don't live up to the hype.

UPDATE: I regret to report that PayPal ended up siding with Fixthephoto. Apparently, the sub-par version of my photo that they returned to me counted as a service provided and because they technically "completed" the job, PayPal has washed their hands of the issue. From now on, I'm going to stay far from Fixthephoto, as they appear to put quantity over quality.

I decided to check out fixthephoto.com after seeing some of their overlays on a photography forum. I downloaded some of their "free" overlays, which were supposed to be sent to my email. I figured I would be getting spam emails left and right, but I didn't think much of it.

Well, let me tell you, I wish I had thought twice. My computer froze completely, I couldn't even force shut it down by holding down the power button! As if that wasn't bad enough, 20 minutes later my iPhone alerted me that someone was trying to use my Apple ID!

It turns out that they had loaded my computer up with spyware and in no time at all were trying to use my information. I felt violated and angry, especially since I realised that none of the people who comment on their Facebook posts were real. They're all fake accounts!

I felt so foolish for not researching the site before I downloaded anything. It's frustrating that my Apple ID and passwords are now compromised, and I have no idea what other damage they've done to my computer. I've never had a computer fail to force shut down before, and I'm terrified about what I'm going to do next.

Please, please, please learn from my mistake and stay away from fixthephoto.com.

Another photographer had their photo used without permission and was misattributed to someone else in the same article. It's just not right. I looked into the company and found that though they claim to be based in Brooklyn, New York, their website is registered in Ukraine. This led me to believe that Fixthephoto.com isn't really on the up and up.

I've been keeping an eye on the article, and I noticed that they finally took down my photo. However, they replaced it with another photo of Galen's that was also unlicensed, which means it was used illegally as well. I did some more digging and found out that several other photographers on the list had also not given permission for their photos to be used on the site. This includes big names like Michael Kenna, Carr Clifton, Erin Babnik, Sean Bagshaw, Michael Frye, Isabella Tabacchi, and Fay Goodwin. I suspect that none of the photographers on the list actually granted permission for their photos to be used.

So, my advice is to stay far away from Fixthephoto.com. They clearly don't have any respect for photographers' intellectual property rights, and they don't seem to care about rectifying their mistakes. It's just not worth the risk.

They claim that they want to "work with me" for SEO purposes, but it is clear that they have scraped my email address without my consent. However, it is clear that they are more interested in promoting their own services and reaching new customers than they are in forming genuine partnerships with other companies or bloggers.

In conclusion, while FixThePhoto may have useful services for those in need of photo editing and retouching, their approach to marketing and partnership building needs improvement. It is important for them to stop spamming individuals and companies with unsolicited emails and instead focus on building genuine relationships with potential partners.

I recently decided to gift my mother with edited wedding photos as a surprise. I came across Fixthephoto's website and decided to give them a try. Initially, I sent in photos that only required minor editing, but the team insisted on doing $25 restoration work on all of them, explaining that it was because they were old photos. Despite my doubts, I consented to have the three worst photos restored.

Unfortunately, the restoration work was not satisfactory. Only one of the photos came back looking a little better, while the two others looked half-assed and hazy. I requested corrections, but they only managed to fix one yellow spot while leaving the rest of the photo hazy. I had to go back and request corrections multiple times before finally giving up and correcting the issue myself.

Aside from the poor quality of work, their communication was also subpar. They don't include all the necessary details in their emails, and the only reliable source of information is the comment section under your photos. It took four days to get my corrections, which is unacceptable.

They loaded my computer with spyware... and within a1/2 hour... began trying to use my info!

After it was too late...
I looked at their Facebook page...
All the people who comment on their posts are fake!
Look them up yourself... all the people connected to their Facebook page have no friends themselves... and posts are put up by a computer... with "likes" under the post... but there is never a comment that's written out. All done by a computer.

Now I feel so stupid for not looking up reviews about their site before I took the free overlay downloads!

My Apple ID and all my other passwords are easy to change... but who knows what damage they did to my computer.
I've never seen a computer not respond to a force shut down... and I have no idea how I'm gonna fix this...

So, I had a pretty crappy experience with Fixthephoto. I forked over a whopping $189.00 back in March, and I still haven't gotten my pics or a refund. Like, seriously? Come on guys, get it together. It's been such a bummer dealing with this mess. I had to call my credit card company and go through all this headache just to try and get my hard-earned cash back. It's left me with a real lack of trust in this company. I mean, if they can't even handle fulfilling their promises, what can they handle? Overall, I'm feeling pretty discouraged and disappointed.

I ain't gonna lie, Fixthephoto's service was a real letdown. I forked over $10 to get a fancy photo touch-up, but what I got in return was a downright shameful experience. It was like they didn't even try! And that ain't even the worst part. These guys were so incompetent that they distorted people's faces in the photos.

So, I asked them for a refund cuz they obviously messed up, but they sent me two more sets of edited photos with the same messed-up faces. I mean, come on! What's the point of paying good money for something they can't even do right? They charged me like $300 AUD for this nonsense.

Let me tell you, folks, don't waste your money on these imposters. You can find better photo editors who can actually do what they say they can do. I looked around on Etsy and found some amazing people who did a way better job. Don't fall for the hype and just go with these "professional" folks cuz you'll regret it!
