This company, Velocity Air Conditioning, is just not good. They don't seem to care about their products or the work they do. We've had so many problems with the AC unit they installed for us.

Right from the start, Velocity had trouble passing the city inspection. It took them a few tries to get it right. But then, just one month after they installed the unit, it stopped working. Velocity had to come out twice to figure out that the problem was with the coolant line. They didn't do a good job welding it together.

Then, a year and a half later, the evaporator coil went bad. The technician they sent to fix it did a really bad job. We called Velocity to complain, but they just sent the same technician back out. He didn't do any better the second time. Two months later, the AC stopped working again. We called another company to come out and look at it. They told us that the problem was with the way Velocity installed the evaporator coil.

We've tried to work things out with Velocity. We've called them, we've written to them, and we've even filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. But they just won't do the right thing. They say they'll come out to fix their mistakes, but only if we pay for a service call. That's not fair. They should stand behind their work and fix it for free.

I gotta tell ya, folks, I had a pretty bad experience with Velocity Air Conditioning. I got this coupon in the mail for maintenance on my AC unit, which included a pound of freon and a cleaning of the condenser coils. Anyway, he went up into the attic to check out my AC unit and came back down with some pictures of mold. He tried to sell me a whole new system with UV lights, but I wasn't really interested. And then he said he had to finish up the maintenance, so he'd be a bit longer.

The next morning, I had this uneasy feeling, so I checked my surveillance cameras. And what do you know? Jason didn't put any freon in and he didn't clean the coils! All he did was check the pressure with some gauges and take a piece of paper out to his car. And those pictures he showed me? They weren't even of my system!

I had the pictures sent over to me, and they were definitely not of my AC unit. And to top it all off, Jason took my money and a tip I gave him for "completing" the job. What a scam!

I also told him that he could keep his warranty and that's a great way to do business. An hour later, the same service manager called me back and told me that he spoke to his boss, the owner, and they would send or bring me a check to cover the cost to repair the wall and the closet because they know they messed it up.

But here's the catch: they wanted me to sign a form stating that I would not post anything negative about their company. To me, that felt like extortion. I wasn't going to take hush money and sign something like that. I don't think anyone should have to do that.

Overall, I would not recommend doing business with Velocity Air Conditioning. They do not stand behind anything they say or do and then want to blame a subcontractor that they recommended. The service manager even told me to "go after him" because he's not an employee of Velocity. That's not how you run a business with integrity. Stay away from this company! From the onset, it was clear that Joey was not just any regular technician. His warm, friendly and courteous disposition was simply amazing. He exhibited a depth of knowledge and expertise that was second to none. Joey was quick to diagnose the problem and in no time, he had my air conditioning unit up and running.

What was even more impressive was the fact that Joey was not just interested in fixing the problem and moving on. He displayed a genuine interest in understanding the issues I was experiencing and also took time to explain to me how I could prevent a similar occurrence in the future. We also had a wonderful chat about some other topics while he worked.

I must say, Joey is one of the nicest and honest young people I have ever met. A light in a dark world, if I may say. His sincerity and passion for his job was very evident and very much appreciated.

My experience with Velocity Air Conditioning has been nothing short of a nightmare. Let me start from the beginning- in December 2018, my AC unit began to act up. Being out of town, I quickly turned to Angie's list to find a reliable AC technician to check it out. After calling Velocity Air Conditioning, a technician was able to come by while my daughter let him in and check on the unit. Unfortunately, we were told that the 5-year-old AC unit had to be replaced since it was a problematic one.

Although the unit was still under warranty, I was informed that it would need to be replaced with a new one. So, I purchased a new unit and financed it through Velocity Air Conditioning. I made full payment on December 31, 2018, and the unit was installed on January 2, 2019. However, after just a couple of days, the new unit stopped working completely. Velocity Air Conditioning sent someone over who ended up having no clue about fixing anything. To make matters worse, this guy cut off the electricity to my whole house and left without a word! I had to get someone else to fix his mistake.

After finally having everything put together, the new AC unit worked well for a while. Unfortunately, my joy was short-lived as two years later, the unit stopped working again. Even though it was still under warranty, Velocity Air Conditioning wanted to charge me 1500 dollars to install it once again, which is ridiculous and quite a huge sum. It has been a complete mess dealing with the issues caused by Velocity Air Conditioning, and even after two years, they still haven't been able to resolve the problem.

As a military veteran who is disabled, it pains me to report that this company took advantage of my elderly mother and completely broke her AC unit after a simple service. She had used a special they were advertising - breakdown coverage - and the very next day, her AC unit broke! The new company that came to investigate said that Velocity Air Conditioning had overloaded the freon and the entire system needed to be replaced. Unbelievable!

When it comes to air conditioning services, you want to make sure you choose a company that is trustworthy and operates with integrity. Unfortunately, it seems like Velocity Air Conditioning might not be such a company. As a customer who had a TRANE system installed less than 4 years ago by Velocity Air Conditioning, I was extremely disappointed with my experience.

During a tune-up visit, the technician, Foster, seemed to have something up his sleeve. He played a video and showed me what he claimed were leaky coils, insisting I pay $1,328 for the repair. When I mentioned that my parts were under a 10-year warranty, he quickly changed the subject and claimed other parts needed to be replaced. He even went as far as to pull the classic car sales trick of "let me ask my manager" and came back with a "discounted" price of $1,028.

As someone who wasn't willing to be bullied into paying for unnecessary repairs, I decided to call another A/C guy for a second opinion. Interestingly enough, this other technician mentioned that Velocity Air Conditioning was known for their triple-jacked prices and even pulling permits without customer knowledge.

Needless to say, Velocity Air Conditioning has lost my business and any potential referrals. It's disappointing to think that an owner, like Mr. Bill Snyder, could potentially be okay with shady tactics if it means making a buck. For anyone considering using Velocity Air Conditioning, I would highly discourage it and warn against the company's questionable business practices.

I found them to be extremely overpriced on both parts and labor, and felt as though they were taking advantage of my lack of knowledge in this area. During my first visit from them, they diagnosed the issue as a bad breaker and gave me an estimate of $487 to fix it. Out of that cost, $270 was for the breaker, which you can purchase for only $22 at a Home Depot. The remainder was for labor. Unfortunately, they didn't even have the part at the time, so they had to return the following day.

The technician that came back had a different diagnosis - he claimed that the issue was actually with the fan motor and capacitor, and that it would cost me $1140 to get it up and running again, including a deal on annual maintenance. They told me they had the necessary parts on hand, so I agreed to the cost and paid. However, they subsequently revealed that they had to order the parts and have them shipped overnight, which delayed the process even further.

When a different technician returned the next day, they installed the fan motor and capacitor, only for it to not work once again. Now, they informed me that I needed an entirely new AC unit, which would cost me a whopping $7000 just for the outside unit. They did offer me a discount of what they had already charged me, bringing the cost down to $5200, but at that point, I had lost all trust in them.

I requested a refund for the fan motor and capacitor, but they told me this was not possible. I then went ahead and sought a quote from another AC repair company, who offered to replace the outside unit for half the price that Velocity was asking for. Unfortunately, I now own a brand new fan motor and capacitor that is completely useless unless I replace the entire AC unit with the exact same one.

Furthermore, my mother was suffering through unbearably hot temperatures in her home, and the repairman came and did absolutely nothing to alleviate the situation. Instead, he claimed it was too uncomfortable for him to conduct a thorough inspection. This is outrageous behavior from a company that is supposed to provide expert assistance and support.

To add insult to injury, when my mother asked for the repairman's photographs, Velocity claimed he did not have any. This is suspicious, as a reliable and professional serviceman should have taken pictures upon inspection of the alleged damage. Moreover, the repairman stated that he had knocked on the door to speak with my mother, which is untrue. Her dog would have easily barked if that was the case. This is a blatant lie, and goes to show that Velocity does not value their customers or their customers' safety.

Upon further investigation of Velocity's owner, William Tyler Snyder, who also goes by Tyler Snyder or Bill Snyder, I discovered that he also runs another company called Solar Max, which installs solar panels. I looked up reviews for that company as well, only to find that they are known to scam customers in the same manner as Velocity. This indicates a pattern of deceitful and dishonest practices, especially toward elderly customers.

Therefore, I strongly recommend finding a more ethical and responsible company to fulfill your air conditioning needs. Velocity Air Conditioning is a prime example of a company that cares only about making money and is willing to exploit vulnerable people to achieve their goals. Do not make the mistake of choosing them.

Velocity Air Conditioning came to my house for my regular 6-month tune-up, which cost me $65. I know that my unit was working fine, but I believe in maintenance because I used to work at Napa Auto Parts for 45 years and I know that preventative maintenance is important. However, during the tune-up, the technician found that the capacitor was bad and the unit needed 3 pounds of Freon. I was not happy about this at all, especially when I found out that it would cost me $588.

I tried calling the company while the technician was performing the repairs to see if I could get a discount as a regular customer, but I never received a call back. I was really disappointed because I thought that as a loyal customer, I deserved better treatment.

To make matters worse, the technician charged me $126 per pound of Freon. I couldn't believe it! I found the exact same Freon online for only $175 for a 25-pound cylinder. I understand that companies need to make a profit, but this felt like I was being taken advantage of.
