Climate Design Air Conditioning

Climate Design does good work but they are pretty bad when it comes to the guys they send for yearly maintenance, customer service, and product problems. Once they have your money, they don't care about helping you fix your issues.

Service tech messed up AC drain pipe causing a flood in our new condo. Cost us over 6000 dollars in damages. We moved in on 5/11. On 5/13, AC stopped working so we called for a tech. They sent someone who found that the fan speed was too low. They adjusted it and everything seemed fine. They also checked other things and changed the filter. On the night of 5/27, our leak detector went off at 5am and I noticed a small water spot on the left side of the unit. Around 1pm, they sent a tech named Alex. He removed the filter, checked the coils and drip pan, and blamed excessive condensation on me setting the thermostat too low at night due to high dew point. The drain pipe was covered with foam insulation from the initial installation. On 5/28 morning, leak detectors went off again and water flooded the master bathroom, closets, pantry, laundry room, and AC closet, coming up through the floor. I called my plumber and Climate Design to figure out what caused this flood. Pinnelas plumbing arrived first and ruled out toilet issues. They found the leak and made a video showing that the AC drain was dislodged. Climate Design tech named Chris arrived 15 minutes later. He vacuumed the drain line, removed the foam insulation around the drain pipe, and showed me that it was never properly connected during the initial install. He asked if I wanted it fixed and I said yes. He said he needed to discuss with his boss outside. After a while, he returned and said he understood my situation but his boss told him not to talk to me about it. He said I would receive a call from the office, but no one ever called. Two months later, after Servpro cleaned up the water damage and removed baseboards to dry things out, the damage is still there. Four days ago, by chance, I saw a Climate Design truck and spoke to the guy inside. He turned out to be the field supervisor who instructed tech Chris not to talk to me. He knew about the problem but had no explanation. He said he would contact me after meeting with the company president. He didn't ask for my information, just my unit number. No one called, as expected. This is their fault in our brand new building. Two people, including their own tech, confirmed that the pipe was dislodged by tech Alex the day before when he checked the drain pan. He didn't see it because it was covered in foam. I have video and pictures as proof. I'm filing a complaint with the Pinnelas County license department and contacting the media.
