I lost my home to a fire on Dec 10th. I received insurance money immediately to replace it. I have a small equity mortgage that was sold to this co. So a joint check was issued us. I signed and sent to claims dept. I submitted a request for a deposit on a new modular replacing a manufactured HUD. The IRC modular house is an upgrade. I have been rejected twice because the people in corporate claims office doesn't know the difference between a stick built, manufactured or a modular home. I have requested several times to speak to the corporate office and they refuse to allow me to. Being a mortgage company you would think they would know the difference on these houses. I don't know if they are playing a game to keep my insurance money or what. Do I need a lawyer? I do know there is a fair act law that address things like this. The home I ordered has a value of 3 times more than what I owe. So why does it matter to them they are covered. All I want is my home. Any help out there?
I used service link in the past.. And wired money over to them and now they will not return my wire. I am getting ready to have to sue them to get my wire returned.. And possible from what i'm hearing a class action to get it back. Be careful doing busness with them alot of runaround!
