On Wednesday 11/9/22 I had a severe allergic reaction to food and my doctor called in a prescription for 10 pills of prednisone. I went to the CVS on Anderson Highway in Powhatan Va on Thursday around 4pm to pick up said prescription, but it wasn’t ready and I couldn’t wait because my daughter was very sick with the flu. Didn’t think much of it since I still had two pills of emergency supply on hand. Then I couldn’t pickup the prednisone till Sunday 11/13 because I got the flu. I sent my husband to get the prescription around 3:30pm. After returning home. I go to take a pill to help with my airways which are still having trouble because I was unable to finish my dosage. Then I notice there are only 5 pills in the container, which isn’t even enough to follow the directions on the container, of 2 pills a day for 3 days, but I should have had 10 so I had extra for emergencies. So I was shorted 5 pills. I call the pharmacy immediately, who states they have to look at security footage to see what happened and doesn’t give me a timeline on when I will get my remaining 5 pills of prednisone, which I already paid for. This is unacceptable they should have had a manager contact me to sort it out right away. The delayed filling of prescriptions at CVS is exactly why I keep extra prednisone for allergic reactions because if it were up to me waiting on them I would be dead. I want my issue figured out asap.
Desired outcome: I want the rest of my prescription in a timely manner and an apology for being made feel like I am a criminal and that it’s not their fault.
