Denny's - Total discrimination.

On August 17th, 2023, at 6:45PM, My wife and I was on our way home. To DeSoto, Tx. after my wife gave herself, a diabetic insulin shot, she was feeling kind of woozy. She asked for thing to eat, and we pulled into Denny's Restaurant parking lot at 408 N. Interstate 35 East Service Rd. Red Oak, Tx. 75154.

I went inside Denny' to place her food order. In the front lobby was one elderly negro lady seated and a Hispanic couple and a Hispanic Denny's employee at the register count. The lady set down. The Hispanic couple were talking among themself in English to see which card to use.

While they were undecided. I sit next to the Hispanic lady. still undecided. While the worker was waiting quietly for them to pay. He and I made eye contact he never greeted me. A Caucasian couple enters into the lobby. The worker was giving them their receipt and greeting The Caucasian couple at the same. The worker starts walking toward the menu boot and reached for two menus. He asked them to follow him.

I said to the worker excuse me, but I were here before this couple. The Caucasian lady told her husband to wait. But the worker ignored what I said and again invited couple to follow him. It was only when the Caucasian female said no. Then the worker said to me I didn't know what you wanted. I thought you was casing the place.

He laughed and were surfing for a laugh from the Caucasian and Hispanic couples. I was shocked to hear him say that. The Hispanic lady apologized to me for what the worker said. At the same time, I was thinking about my wife condition. Nearly in tears. I said to both couples Thanks, this is not against you all. The worker knew I was here first while he was waiting to receive money from the you guys. The Hispanic lady said yes Sir you were here first. The two couples had more sympathy than The Denny's worker. Then the worker invited me to follow him in a sarcastic way. I felt that I couldn't trust him at this time. Then the Caucasian lady invited me to set with them.

I said thank you, but my wife is waiting in the truck. So, I said to the Denny's worker Thank you and walked out. I got inside the truck my wife asked about the food. I told her what happen. She asked to take her to Dairy Queen. The Hispanic couple stop us in Denny's parking lot. The lady spoke to my wife and told me that guy is the store manager.

So, we went to Dairy Queen. Thank goodness there were other food places in that area. So, we did get her something to eat. That could've been a bad evening for my wife health wise.

I had just got off work still wearing my uniform very tired just trying to feed my wife quickly and make it home safety. Since I was treated so Ruly as a citizen in a public place. I felt helpless toward my wife needs and to find out that he was the store manager. I went into a panic state of mind feeling very helpless. Thinking what could had happen.
