The UPS Store - ups & ups store deception to defraud its customers

Learning the hard way the UPS store is not in anyway affiliated with UPS to the benefit of unsuspecting customers. To the contrary the UPS store is designed to take the rights of your property and ability to recover any reimbursement. UPS likewise assumes the responsibility and powers of the receiver. Essentially leaving the person who owns property and pays to ship something to the receiver whom is addressed on a package without any rights and any power to file complaints make changes or seek reimbursement if anything should go wrong. This is my story and I write it in hopes of keeping as many people from falling victim to the scam I just experienced
Also to burn a jerk that had it coming.
On April 13 of 2019 I entered the UPS store in Longview Texas to ship a 35 pound care package to a friend in Israel for her birthday. We used UPS store shipping materials and the lady at the desk verified with UPS international over the phone that the destination address I provided could be shipped through UPS worldwide expedited. I then paid $787 for a three day business delivery with the pack and ship guarantee so proudly displayed on the UPS store website that boast of reimbursing the shipper for the cost of the package and the cost of shipment if lost or damaged. To make a long story short by day two I received a notification that the package contained commodities that cannot be shipped internationally. I contacted UPS international where they informed me that the package had not left United States and I should request it be returned before it leaves the US to avoid high return charges. When I told the lady please return it she informed me that I was not the shipper and I could not request any changes to the package. 10 days later and countless phone conversation with the UPS store owner and their employees the packages is in Israel stuck and not delivered to my friend. the store owner refuses to reimburse me or return my package he takes no responsibility for his employees that guaranteed my shipment. It was a constant stream of excuses and obvious lies. Every phone call ended with a solution that they would promise to look into and a return call that never came. Fact is the situation was set in stone on the 16th When UPS found out the package could not reach its destination and they where not going to pay to have it returned. Why would UPS care to honor its word to the shipper when its the UPS Store who's the customer now. You see in order to be a good UPS store franchise owner you don't pay for the return or loss to a customers package when it's your fault. That's for old fashion companies with integrity that profit from honest business services customer trust and respect. To be a good UPS Store franchise owner it takes a real [censored] superstar. When the inevitable problems come along pretend you're doing all you can and lie effortlessly to the customer. Convince the customer it's someone else's fault and make it look like you did all you could. Thats actually what he did to me till the bitter end. Oh yeah and hope your not counting on the pack and ship guarantee you paid for, well that insurance is for the shipper. The UPS Store assumed that role as soon you paid for it. The owner knows what the customer is about to find out that he is a third-party participant of his package and property. As a customer I wasn't even allowed to talk to the broker in charge handling the international UPS shipment I paid almost 800 bucks to ship. Before the UPS broker on the receiving side of this scam informed me she wasn't supposed to talk to customers the cat was out of the bag. I had the real story and documentation that finally led to some sweet sweet truth. From the 16th to 29th of April every morning I received a notice that the package could not be shipped to destination stuck in Israel. I didn't matter if the permits i found from Israel's Minister of Culture would be the thing to get the package released because only the shipper of the package can do that. The same day I found out the package could be abandoned I contacted the owner one more time to express my concerns about losing the package and not being reimbursed. It was more [censored] about him making calls and giving absolutely no information like always. I told the owner my concerns about the package being abandoned and news about permits that might work. The UPS store owner promised to call me first thing in the morning to work it all out. I knew he wasn't going to call and he abandoned my package the next day. The report documents the receiver and shipper both agreed to abandon the package. The real receiver my dear friend was never contacted by UPS and she certainly never agreed to abandon her birthday present. That was the final lie. The package is gone along with any chance of being reimbursed for the contents. No doubt the UPS store will file and profit from the insurance claim I paid for. Nothing more than a profitable and intended outcome. I doubt anyone at the UPS store it's gonna lose any sleep.
